Chapter 10 Police?
"Look at the monkey jump. He shouldn't have messed with us."
"Yeah, that bastard. When we take off his mask and see his face, we will make sure that his entire family pays."
"Fucking bitch. Show us what you got now. Weren't you acting so confidently and arrogantly a few seconds ago?"
Xavier could hear the rest of the Black Hand Gang members' mockery, but it went in one ear and out of the other as he focused on finding a way to win against the Crazy Slasher.
Seeing that Xavier was starting to move slower and had been weakened by all the slashes that he had dealt him, it was time to finally finish him off and hand his body over to the boss.
Suddenly bursting towards him, the slender man, who had been slashing at him the entire time, went in to stab him in the abdomen and deal him a fatal blow, but he had made a big mistake.
He should have stuck to what he was most proficient at, keeping his distance, using his speed, and slicing his opponent.
-
Xavier, who had been backing away the entire time, seeing the opportunity to strike him down, also headed towards him.
As his opponent stabbed towards his abdomen, Xavier rotated his hip just enough for the blade to miss all of his vitals and slash his right side.
However, now that the distance had been closed between them, he had an opportunity to strike back.
At such a close range, a kick or a punch would be ineffective, and since his body was turning with such great momentum, he used it through his attack as he swung his left elbow towards the slasher's jaw.
There was a muffled slap, followed by cracking sounds, as he landed a powerful elbow that was likely to have broken his jaw and some of his teeth.
And just like with his other opponents, Xavier quickly followed up on his clean attack.
His opponent, who had collapsed backward and seemed to have been taken down by one strike, had his face ruthlessly stomped on.
Xavier didn't hold back and struck downwards with his foot as hard as he could, already holding resentment towards them all, but even more enraged after all the injuries he had dealt him.
As he did, he heard crunching sounds and felt his opponent's nose being crushed under his foot.
-
Everything had happened so quickly and the rest of the Black Hand Gand members hadn't expected him to actually still be able to win, especially against the man known in their area as the Crazy Slasher.
Since they had all moved out of the way, they weren't fast enough to react or stop Xavier from crushing his face and picking up the knife that he had been wielding, as they watched him back away towards where he had entered from.
He was out of breath, and the ski mask made it even harder to breathe, while he had also suffered numerous wounds and injuries that had weakened him greatly.
It felt as though his body was starting to become heavier, and the Crazy Slasher noticed that he was becoming slower, which was the only reason he had made his move to end their fight.
And although he hadn't been able to stab his stomach as he had planned, he had still slashed Xavier's side and it was only a matter of time before he collapsed from blood loss.
As long as he got away, Xavier was satisfied with the damage he had dealt them and could always come back another time to face them.
And the Initiation Mission issued by the Gangster System didn't seem to have a time limit.
However, what he was trying to do was too obvious, and although he was impressive, it was the end of the line for him in the eyes of the rest of the undefeated Black Hand Gang members.
"Don't let him leave and don't be scared of him. He can barely even lift the knife he is pointing at us," the boss ordered, as the rest of his subordinates all acted at once.
They wouldn't make the same mistakes of attacking alone and it was evident that the masked intruder was on his last legs, as he staggered back towards the exit while trying to scare the rest of them off with the bloodied flick knife.
-
Beginning to surround him and approach him from his sides, not planning on letting him get away, Xavier knew that even if he tried to run, with his injuries, getting away would be very unlikely.
His bloodshot eyes weren't wavering and were still full of hatred and rage, but he couldn't help but begin doubting whether he could make it out of there alive.
However, as if God was watching his struggles and pitying him, he heard something he never thought he would be happy to hear.
"Police! Nobody move," yelled a voice from within the corridor as they rushed towards them.
From the footsteps, it seemed to be only one person and from the voice; it was a woman, who would likely struggle to arrest the Black Hand Gang members if they resisted.
But since she was coming so quickly and even dared to announce her presence, she was clearly confident, so must be armed with a gun that would allow her to detain them until backup arrived.
Although he didn't want to get involved with the police and knew that he could get convicted and into trouble, it was better than dying at their hands.
Immediately upon hearing that there were police, all the Black Hand Gang members reflexively bolted towards the closest window to them, just like they had done when Xavier had kicked down their door.
However, when they looked back to catch a glimpse of who it was, they couldn't help but burst out into laughter.
