Global Superpower: I Control All Elements

Chapter 22 - Odd Physique

Chapter 22 Odd Physique

The angry outburst startled everyone in the room.

Qin Feng looked toward the source of the commotion.

He saw a handsome young man with a flushed, furious face in the crowd. Opposite him stood a middle-aged man who appeared to be the store’s manager, wearing an expression of distress as he continually offered apologies.

Qin Feng quickly assessed the situation—the manager was a level four Genetic Warrior, while the handsome youth was just an ordinary person.

At this moment, the young man shouted, his face full of fury, “You think I’m not offering enough? Five times isn’t enough? Fine, I’ll offer ten times! 15 million to buy your first-level gene serum!”

The manager was on the verge of tears. “Young Master Wang, it’s not that we don’t want to sell to you. The city lord himself has issued strict orders prohibiting us from selling gene serum to you. If we disobey, we’ll face severe punishment! Please, Young Master Wang, spare us this trouble!”

“City lord, city lord! It’s always him! I’ve said many times, this is my own decision. If something happens, it has nothing to do with you!” the handsome youth retorted angrily, his neck turning red with frustration.

The manager continued to plead, “Young Master Wang, it would be fine if nothing goes wrong, but if something does, we can’t afford the consequences! Please, I beg you, just let it go!”

“Hmph! You’re all cowards! Spineless cowards!” Young Master Wang spat in frustration before storming off angrily.

Inside the hall, everyone exchanged glances, confused and curious.

Qin Feng, intrigued, turned to the saleswoman and asked, “Who is that guy? Why won’t the city lord allow you to sell gene serum to him?”

The beautiful saleswoman lowered her voice and replied, “That’s Young Master Wang, the grandson of the former city lord. He doesn’t have any talent for cultivation but refuses to accept being just an ordinary person. He’s been trying to become a Genetic Warrior. But, as you know, taking gene serum can be risky.”

“Years ago, the former city lord’s son was killed during a beast tide, leaving only this one grandson. The former city lord is adamant about not letting him take any chances with gene serum. If something were to happen to him, the old city lord would have no heirs left. That’s why no one dares to sell it to him.”

Qin Feng asked further, “And how is the current city lord involved in this?”

The saleswoman explained, “The current city lord is the former city lord’s disciple, so he follows the old man’s orders. In Yunyang City, there are only two places that sell gene serum—the city lord’s mansion and this store. As long as those two are under control, it’s almost impossible for Young Master Wang to get his hands on gene serum.”

“Sigh. Actually, if Young Master Wang had left some descendants for the old city lord, maybe he would have been allowed to take the risk. But for some reason, despite all his resources and good looks, he’s never dated anyone and remains single to this day…”

As the saleswoman began gossiping, Qin Feng narrowed his eyes. This Young Master Wang seemed to be loaded with cash, but he himself was in need of money.

“Miss, I’ll be back later. Chuchu, let’s go!”

“Sir, wait…”

Ignoring the saleswoman, Qin Feng pulled Chuchu out of the store.

Once outside, Qin Feng spotted Young Master Wang in the distance, still fuming. Behind him trailed an elderly man with graying hair, clearly there to protect him.

With a sharp eye, Qin Feng immediately realized that the old man was a wind elementalist, a one-star Wind Elementalist.

Elementalists of wind, ice, and thunder were relatively rare.

In comparison, elementalists of water, fire, and earth, the traditional five elements, were much more common.

Among those of the same rank, wind, ice, and thunder elementalists were generally stronger than their five-element counterparts.

Of course, beyond these, there were even more exotic types, such as magnetic elementalists, shadow elementalists, and beast elementalists, each with incredible powers.

Then there was Chuchu. Hidden within her body was a power never before seen on Earth, an undeveloped elemental ability.

Qin Feng hesitated no longer and quickly followed Young Master Wang.

The elderly man was a mid-rank, one-star Wind Elementalist, but he was no match for Qin Feng. Despite being just a quasi-elementalist, Qin Feng’s overall strength was comparable to a one-star Elementalist at the peak of their abilities.

“Brother, where are we going?” Chuchu asked curiously.

“Just follow me!” Qin Feng didn’t explain further.

Before long, they caught up with Young Master Wang.

“Young Master Wang, I heard you’re looking to buy a first-level gene serum?”

Qin Feng’s words immediately caught Young Master Wang’s attention. The man’s spirits lifted, but as he turned around and saw that it was just a seventeen- or eighteen-year-old boy speaking, his excitement faded, replaced by disappointment.

How could someone this young have any real connections?

But still, the boy was incredibly handsome, and Young Master Wang couldn’t help but be momentarily awestruck by his looks. His gaze softened as he looked at Qin Feng, his eyes filled with a strange tenderness.

Qin Feng suddenly felt a wave of discomfort sweep over him.

Why is this guy looking at me like that?

That saleswoman in the store had mentioned something odd about Young Master Wang, how he had never had a girlfriend.

It seems strange, considering his wealth and appearance.

Could it be…?

As a realization dawned on Qin Feng, his skin prickled with goosebumps. But for the sake of money, he steeled himself and continued the conversation.

“You there, what do you want?” Young Master Wang asked gently, his tone uncharacteristically soft.

“Young Master Wang, I heard you’re looking for a first-level gene serum. What if I told you that I have one? Are you interested?” Qin Feng replied with a smile.

Young Master Wang’s eyes lit up with excitement. “You’re saying… you have a first-level gene serum?!”

“Indeed!” Qin Feng nodded confidently.

At this moment, the elderly bodyguard, Liu Bo, stepped forward and interrupted, “Young man, do you know what you’re doing?”

The old man’s expression was grim.

“Young man, the city lord has strictly forbidden anyone from selling gene serum to my young master. Are you ignorant of this, or are you simply reckless?” Liu Bo’s voice was laced with irritation. He was clearly displeased with Qin Feng’s audacity.

“Liu Bo, this is my business! Don’t interfere!” Young Master Wang exclaimed impatiently.

Liu Bo sighed. “Master, have you considered the consequences? If anything happens to you, this boy won’t survive either.”

“But… but what if I succeed?” Young Master Wang asked, though his tone betrayed a hint of uncertainty. He glanced at Qin Feng’s flawless features and hesitated, not wanting to drag the young man into something dangerous.

Liu Bo sighed again and explained, “Young Master, you know your body is different from ordinary people. Your constitution has a much stronger rejection to gene serum. For most people, the success rate of using a first-level gene serum is around 80%. For you, it’s only 50%.”

“If the success rate weren’t so low, the old city lord wouldn’t have stopped you from taking the medicine in the first place.”

“Ugh…” Young Master Wang was clearly frustrated.

In truth, he felt utterly defeated. His body possessed a unique elemental constitution, which strongly rejected gene serum.

Despite this, the sensitivity of his elemental affinity was 0.9—just shy of the threshold needed to awaken a talent.

As a result, he was stuck in a limbo—unable to become an Elementalist and finding it exceedingly difficult to become a Genetic Warrior.

This left him in the position of living life as an ordinary person, something that weighed heavily on his ambitious spirit.

“Liu Bo, can’t there be an exception? What if I’m successful?” Young Master Wang asked, unwilling to give up.

Liu Bo shook his head. “Master, your safety is the priority. I cannot allow this deal to happen.”

Turning to Qin Feng, Liu Bo continued, “Young man, you seem well-off and not like someone who’s desperate for money. Even if you’re looking to make a profit, this is not the right way to do it. My young master has a special constitution, and there’s a high risk that the gene serum will fail. The odds are like gambling with his life.”

“And if my young master dies, you won’t live to see another day either. So, for your own sake, leave while you still can.”

Hearing these words, Young Master Wang’s face fell into despair. Normally, anyone would back off at this point, unwilling to take such a dangerous risk. This had happened to him many times before.

Liu Bo also waited, fully expecting Qin Feng to walk away.

But instead, Qin Feng smiled calmly and said, “Old man, why should I leave? This time, I’m definitely selling the medicine.”
