Chapter 73 A Little Girl's Hospitality
On the floating stone platform, Patrick, Athena, Anastasia, and Thalia stood meters away from the immortal female cultivator as Patrick asked his question. The female cultivator frowned upon hearing Patrick's question as she instinctively sent her Qi consciousness to check this group; surprisingly, she couldn't perceive anything from them.
'Hmm?! How come I can't sense their True Immortal cultivations? I am a fourth-stage Celestial realm expert; any newly ascended cultivator should be weaker than me, which means I should be capable of telling their origins and cultivation realms. But none of these four people have any Qi fluctuations. Unless they cultivate some cultivation hiding techniques, yes, that must be the case.'
The woman thought as she calmed her suspicious countenance; she assumed a slightly superior attitude as she spoke.
"As you'd noticed, there isn't a portal to the central continent; that is because as newly ascended cultivators, you lack the resources and strength to survive in the central continent, so the overlords of the Immortal Realm had decided for newly ascended cultivators to choose the four continents first. Although the four continents aren't any safer, they are less dangerous when compared to the central continent. Lastly, one needs special authorization from the higher echelons to travel to the central domain."
"Unnecessary, but thanks for the info; I will take things from here on."
"Wait, what? Aren't you going to choose a portal?"
Hearing Patrick's reply, the woman and her ninety-nine squad members expressed doubtful countenances. In all their years of duty, they had never witnessed someone deny entering the four continents; that was because the ascended cultivators didn't have a choice as they couldn't even tell the cardinal points of the Immortal Realm. But this group of four were the first not only to deny entering the four portals, but they even said they would handle things from here. Also, despite their strange attires and unsensible cultivations, these four people held transcendental semblances.
Patrick didn't reply to the female cultivator's question; he turned to his three goddesses as he spoke, his left arm stretched as if gesturing 'after you.'
"After you, ladies."
Athena, Anastasia, and Thalia saw Patrick's gesture as they smiled with blushed faces, the space around the three ladies vibrating as they canceled their inter-connected dimensions. Understanding Patrick's meaning by gesturing his hand, the three ladies elegantly walked past him as the space around the floating stone platform folded as if not daring to touch the three. The next moment, the figures of the three ladies disappeared as they walked through the void; Patrick watched his wives enter the void; he stood at his spot as in an unimaginable instant, Vanish!"
"WHAT!?"
Bellowing shouts of one hundred immortal cultivators echoed in the surroundings, some of the floating cultivators losing their hovering balances as they landed on the floating stone platform. What the hell just happened? this question circulated in the cultivators' minds as they struggled to comprehend what they had just witnessed. What those people used previously were spatial techniques, whereas the reality-shattering realization was that four newly ascended cultivators just utilized space-traveling techniques in the Immortal Realm, which should be impossible.
Among the countless common knowledge of the Immortal Realm, one was that for one to space-travel within this realm, they must first be Star Celestials and cultivate a Space-time law or Dao, or at least possesses an extremely high-level space treasure. But these people were new ascenders; how could they cultivate space-time laws or Daos when they just ascended? Also, cultivators beyond the True immortal realm can't even descend to the lower realms? The more they thought about the situation, the more complicated it became. These were the disturbing thoughts of the immortal cultivators as they maintained their shocking countenances; they were left with the struggle to comprehend the reality-shattering event of their lives.
Central Continent.
Centered in the heart of the Immortal Realm, the central continent is the most luxurious continent among the other inhabitable four continents. This continent was the largest when compared in size. Its landmass stretched for billions of square miles; there are countless hidden realms and separate dimensions within this continent as they remained hidden from outside reach. Since the beginning of time, this continent has birthed countless geniuses and immortal experts as they conquered and dominated everything during their generations. Of course, with power comes chaos, and with chaos brings death; other than being the most powerful continent, it was also the graveyards of countless immortals and imperial sovereigns as their legacies and heritages lay with them, waiting for the arrival of their successors in the later generations. But other than being known as the strongest and most luxurious continent, the central mainland is also the most dangerous, excluding the Desolate Realm.
Somewhere within the central continent, Patrick and his three goddesses stood in a green grassland; surrounding Patrick's group were countless immortal plants and flowers radiating with pure heavenly essence. Meters away from the grassland was a roadway that seemed to lead to a region heading north; the road was wide enough to fit four carriages, there were deep wheel tracks on the ground, indicating this is a frequently used travel path.
"It is quite generous of the so-called overlords by making newly ascended cultivators choose the four continents. The gravitational pressure alone would have squashed them to mint paste if they came here. It seems only those born on this continent can naturally adapt to its pressure."
Patrick spoke as he stared in the distance, his silver hair fluttering in the wind and hands tucked in his pants pockets; behind Patrick was Athena, Anna, and Thalia; all three ladies stood elegantly as their indescribable bodies exuded heavenly fragrances. The three ladies also stared in the distance as they enjoyed the view, their bodies equipped with accessories as they contributed to their magnificent appearances. Thalia raised an index finger as Qi gathered on it, swirling it slowly as she spoke.
"The Qi of the Immortal Realm isn't much different from the Saint Realm mana of my home universe. The only huge differentiation would be their origin sources."
"It's fascinating how there are all these universes and multiverses, with each having their concepts of energy; it makes one wonder what else is there to know about this omniverse."
Anastasia spoke as she stood next to Athena while a female snow bunny happily rested on her shoulders.
"HEY, LOOK! there are fairies over there!"
Suddenly, a voice rang out in the distance as it scared the birds resting on the nearby trees, causing them to scatter. The voice sounded like a child; Patrick and the three ladies casually turned as they saw a batch of warriors escorting a carriage; leading the carriage was a bulky warrior riding a stout brown horse, on his right hand was a long spear, he was bald and had a bronze armor. Behind the carriage were six men with the same bronze armors, holding swords instead of spears. The carriage these warriors accompanied was medium size and had some designs symbolizing royalty; on the side window of the carriage, the brilliant excited face of a little girl peeked through the window as she intensely gazed at Patrick's group.
The carriage stopped as the warriors also halted their horses; the side door of the carriage opened as two women stepped out; the women wore plain traditional maid attires with silver hairpins holding their traditional hairstyles. Stepping from inside the carriage, the two women stood at the entrance as they held the twin doors for an individual; the next moment, the women gently held the arms of a little girl as they assisted her climb from the carriage. Standing at the carriage's entrance was a little girl who seemed four to five years old; the little girl wore a plain girly pink dress with some hairpins holding her knotted hairstyle. On the girl's face was an expression of complete excitement as she gazed at the group in the distance; without waiting for her maids to respond, the little girl darted at the group as she came closer to them, the maids shouting behind her 'Young Miss!' as they chased after her.
Athena and her two wife sisters stood as the little girl rushed at them with an excited expression; the girl reached them in five seconds as she began going around the three ladies as if observing fairies, her excited expression still plastered on her face as she jumped left and right trying to seeing if these people were actual fairies. Seeing the embarrassing scene their Miss was causing, the two maids stood not far from Athena's group as they humblingly bowed, expressing their sincere apologies as one spoke.
"Please forgive our young miss; she is amazed by the beauties of the ladies; we hope you don't take offense to her naive actions."
"Not at all; on the contrary, we find her cute. She can observe us."
While the maids humblingly apologized for their Miss, the male warriors stood behind them as they stood in a readied formation; the leading warrior holding the spear stepped forward as he cupped his arms towards Patrick; he had neither a subservient nor arrogant attitude as he spoke, thinking after.
"We deeply apologize for our young Miss' actions; we hope fellow cultivator and his ladies don't see it as disrespect." 'These people are indeed too pretty; the young Miss calling them fairies wasn't an exaggeration. Hm!? Hidden cultivations? then might they be immortal experts?.'
Seeing the leading warrior's gesture, Patrick nodded and spoke.
"As the ladies said, no offense taken."
"We are heading to the Sky Yun Region; seeing that fellow cultivators are standing on the roadside, I presume you must also be heading there too. If so, why don't we all go together?"
"...., well you not entirely wrong. Ladies? what do you say?"
Patrick spoke with the warrior guard as he requested the ladies' opinions.
"Yes! Let's go together with fairies; mother was right; fairies are real."
Athena, Anna, and Thalia saw the cute and innocent expectation of the little girl as they smiled charmingly, but the next second, their systems sounded out.
[Goddess, someone other than God Master had made you smile, do you wish to initiate 'Infinite energy and lifespan' blessing?]
[Goddess, someone....]
[Goddess, someone....]
But before they could even respond, Thalia allowed the little girl to lead them by hand as they went towards the opened carriage, their system interfaces disappearing after. The maids' faces filled with embarrassed expressions as they watched their troublesome little Miss lead three unknown women to her carriage, following them after. The situation became awkward for the leading warrior guard as he again cupped his hands before Patrick; he turned to one of the escorting warriors as he spoke.
"Hey Lang Li, let me borrow your horse; fellow cultivator here will be using mine."
"Oh, no need, I don't mind walking."
"It would be disrespectful of me-"
"I think your little Miss wants to continue her journey, and besides, I need to stretch my legs."
Patrick interrupted the guard as he spoke calmly; the guard realizing that this man had indirectly insisted, nodded his head as he commanded the continuation of the journey. The other bronze armor-wearing guards heeded the order as they mounted their horses; seconds later, the party continued their journey. Patrick calmly walked next to the leading guard's horse with his hands in his pocket. He didn't mind the happening events as he went with the flow. With that, the traveling party left the location Patrick's group was at as they headed for the Sky Yun Region.
After what felt like an hour, multiple shadowy figures appeared where the party was as one of the shadowy beings walked towards where the carriage previously stopped; standing at the spot where the carriage was, the shadowy figure made some hand signs with one hand as he planted his palm on the ground. The next second, multiple lights lit up as they shone with the shape of carriage, foot, and horse tracks.
"They stopped here an hour ago, Chief; what are your orders?"
"Chase after them; they won't be reaching the Sky Yun Region anytime soon. That's enough time to assassinate the target."
"YES!"
Vanish! Vanish!
With the vanishing sounds, the group of shadowy figures left the area as they pursued their target.
