Chapter 64 Back To Item Market
"All right, now let go of your physical self. Stop being material and start interacting with the light you see. Make yourself one with the airflow. Right now, you are only a spiritual being. You are no longer physically connected to anything. ''
Dan and Karan felt completely at one with the environment after Raydon's final words. Unknowingly, their heartbeat and breathing had slowed dramatically, as if to avoid disturbing the naturally flowing air.
Raydon was pleased with what he saw and muttered. 'The assassin's nature is to be one with the environment. The best assassins are those who can switch between being a shadow at night and a light during the day. '
''Now, start. '' As he turned to leave, Raydon uttered his last order. He already knew the outcome.
Nobody seemed to notice Raydon's departure. Along with Dan and Karan, it appeared as though they were all in a trance.
In response to Raydon's order, Dan and Karan had already started to move. They were moving with self-confidence and determination. They no longer had any concerns about hurting their feet.
Each step they took was so effortless, and it appeared as though they were very aware of where they were supposed to step. The broken glass was barely disturbed by their movements.
After a few minutes of running and chasing, Karan's shout abruptly brought them to a stop.
''Wait, wait. '' After removing the eye patch, Karan examined his foot and discovered a small cut. This cut was actually quite small, but it served as evidence that he had emerged from his trance.
''I need a break because I've reached my limit and know that continuing would cause me to lose focus once more. '' Karan said sourly.
It was already incredible that he had remained in this state for so long. After all, staying in trance required a significant amount of mental energy.
''It's okay, I also felt like I had reached my limit. It would be beneficial to get some rest. But... that sensation was truly incredible. I never imagined I'd be able to accomplish something like this.'' Dan couldn't hide the joy and excitement on his face as he remembered his trance state from earlier.
''That's right, and we reached it in a matter of minutes,'' Karan said. He was still unable to believe what had occurred.
Dan averted his gaze and searched the area for Raydon as he reflected on how incredible this training was and how even more incredible the person leading it was.
''Huh, where is brother Raydon? Ouch...'' When he couldn't see Raydon, he hurriedly tried to get out of the shard pool, but he was stopped by the pain in his feet and began walking more slowly.
''Oh, he was here just now, where did he go? '' Sami, too, didn't notice it because he was also engrossed in what was going on and was clearly eager to try what Dan and Karan were experiencing.
''I think he left without us noticing,'' Pana said with a sad expression. She wanted Raydon to watch her as she attempted the training.
''Well, there's nothing to do. He already devotes his valuable time to assisting us. I'm sure he already has important tasks to complete.'' Dan said with a sigh. He felt bad about wasting Raydon's time.
Everyone else shared the same sentiments. With each passing day, their admiration and respect for Raydon grew.
''Okay, let's continue without wasting any more time. We must show that we are at least deserving of his time when he returns. '' Dan stated firmly. Raydon was someone he wanted to be worthy of.
--
'Their talents aren't too bad. It must be because they spent a lot of time living in slums. In any case, I will leave them if they don't show the outcomes I want.' Raydon thought as he moved along the side streets,
''Besides, that kid is actually Belicia's brother, huh? Was it empathy that drove her to take care of me for so long? ''
Raydon had helped Rayn the first time he saw him because he looked exactly like Belicia. Apart from Belicia's sympathy for him, he hoped to gain her trust by assisting her relative.
After all, empathy had no meaning to him. It would have been more advantageous for Raydon if Belicia had owed him for her brother's life.
''Anyway, I'll think about it later.'' He considered it and exited one street into a wider street. He climbed into one of the vehicles he found and drove away for something more important right now.
--
Raydon eventually made his way through the antique market and came to the familiar building with the Other World Antiques table on it.
The woman working inside noticed Raydon as soon as he walked in, and her face turned white. She dashed forward like a terrified rabbit, bowed before Raydon, and said. ''S-sir, w-welcome b-b-b-b-b-back. ''
The same woman who had earlier mistook Raydon for an intruder and had given him money like a beggar now stuttered, bowed her head, and shook with terror.
Raydon ignored the woman's behavior and asked, "Where is the owner? "
''Y-y-y-y-y-yes, sir, I'm calling immediately; kindly take a seat. Ouch... ''
The woman was stuttering but at the same time speaking so fast that she bit her tongue, but she ignored the pain and continued.
''W-w-w-w-w-would you like something to drink or do you have any other r-r-r-r-r-requests.''
''No need, just call the old man. '' Raydon said, refusing to sit down.
When the woman noticed Raydon's lack of interest, she immediately ran to find the shop's owner. Soon, the two of them could be seen hurriedly approaching.
''Greetings, sir. I sincerely apologize if I made you wait. You're visiting the item market, right? Please allow me to show you the way so I don't waste any more of your time. '' The man must have fallen while hurrying because he had a freshly opened bleeding wound on his head, but as if he hadn't noticed, he opened the door to the item market and showed Raydon the way.
Raydon continued to ignore the terrified couple as he walked through the door to the item market.
