Chapter 22
Chapter 22: Meeting Song Rao at the Coffee Shop
Jiang Yi and Song Rao had arranged to meet at the coffee shop. He arrived relatively late, but Zeng Ying arrived first.
“Your grandmother’s case is about to start. The lawyer needs to have a chat with you.”
“Okay.” Zeng Ying nodded obediently.
Her outfit today was different from the other day. She didn’t wear heavy makeup, nor did she wear any flamboyant clothes. She was dressed more casually.
“Sister Jiang Yi, Mr. Gong asked me to do something earlier. Is this important? I’m afraid you guys will mess it up..”
“It won’t be messed up. Someone will cooperate with you. Just treat it as a small favor for me.”
“I’ll definitely cooperate! That lawyer fee…”
Song Rao’s figure appeared at the door. Zeng Ying followed Jiang Yi’s gaze and didn’t say anything else.
He was dressed in a decent suit. His figure was tall and straight, giving him a refined and dignified appearance. Although he was wearing glasses, it was difficult to hide his handsome appearance. There was an indescribable sense of nobility.
“This lawyer is so handsome.”
Zeng Ying sat beside Jiang Yi and could not help but mutter softly.
“Hello, Ms. Jiang.”
“…”
Song Rao saw that Jiang Yi’s face was cold and did not say anything. He stood by the table and politely extended his right hand, indicating that he wanted to shake her hand.
“Sit down.”
Jiang Yi said coldly, with no intention of getting up.
Seeing this face that was exactly the same as Qin Jinchen’s, Jiang Yi was already feeling a little irritated. Then, hearing Song Rao address her, she wanted to kill this guy on the spot.
Song Rao didn’t feel embarrassed at all. She naturally withdrew her hand and sat down across from him. Then, she placed a few documents on the table, “Is this Miss Zeng Ying? I heard that your father had previously gambled and sold women. Can you provide relevant evidence? For example, photos, phone records, and so on?”
“I don’t have photos, but I know where my father gambled. The phone records should be there. He called me previously and asked me to go home to help him pay off his debts and marry that creditor.”
“Did he force you to marry someone?”
“Yes, he tied me up and wanted to send me to the man’s house. Luckily, my grandmother saved me.”
Song Rao was mainly communicating with Zeng Ying. Jiang Yi didn’t speak the entire time. She silently watched him. The more she looked at him, the more she felt that his face was Qin Jinchen.
“I’m going to the washroom.”
Jiang Yi suddenly stood up. When she walked to the washroom, Song Rao, who was originally talking to Zeng Ying, stopped. He looked at her back as she left with a deep gaze.
By the time Jiang Yi returned, Song Rao and Zeng Ying had almost finished their conversation.
Jiang Yi said politely, “Please, Lawyer Song. When the case is over, I’ll treat you to a meal.”
“This is what I should do.”
He responded with a faint smile and was elegant and polite, which was quite different from the temperamental Qin Jinchen.
“If Miss Zeng can get the evidence, please pass it to me, Ms. Jiang. I still have classes at school, so I’ll leave first.”
Every Time Jiang Yi heard Song Rao address her, she couldn’t help but frown.
She and Zeng Ying were only two years apart. How could Zeng Ying be Miss Zeng and she be Ms. Jiang?
Jiang Yi was so angry that she didn’t want to talk to him again.
Seeing that Jiang Yi didn’t say anything, Song Rao got up and was about to leave, but just as he turned around, he bumped into the waiter who came to deliver the food. The food truck directly hit song Rao’s leg.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry. Sir, are you alright?!”
“I’m fine.”
Song Rao said nonchalantly and walked around the dining car. Jiang Yi had been staring at his back the entire time. She saw that he had been hit by the dining car. There was no change in his walking posture. He probably did not feel much pain.
His leg was actually very good.
The waiter’s hit was very heavy. Jiang Yi had deliberately given him 500 yuan just to test Song Rao.
Xiao Yi had once told him about Qin Jinchen’s condition. He had looked for many famous orthopedic doctors overseas, but it had been useless even after many surgeries. If he could really stand up one day, there would be sequelae on his legs. He would not be as good as a normal person.
Could it really not be him?
Jiang Yi frowned. There was some doubt in her deep and cold almond-shaped eyes.
