Chapter 60: Chapter 60 – New Friend [1]
After three clips were played, their pictures covered the whole screen.
In the center were the first pair, StoneSword and LilyPixel! On their right were Flexy and Breeze. Lastly, on their left were RoninKnight and Madlad.
The reporters clapped their hands after the introduction was over, thinking that the video ended. However… The screen once again changed.
"We have written a new history to the gaming world!"
A bold statement was written in fiery letters, floating on a white background. Everyone noticed what that background was. It was the first area of the synchronization test.
"For the first time after 5 years!"
Another sentence appeared.
Following that, the scene changed, showing golden letters floating above a blurry figure's head.
"One of our participants…"
[Final time: 00:13:51]
[Final Time Worldwide Ranking: 1]
"… Have broken the record!"
Shock! Without any exception, all reporters gasped. Someone among the participants had set a new record in the synchronization test, something that had stood for over 5 years.
No one knew who broke the record because the figure was blurred and hidden.
"Who is he? How high is his synchronization rate?!"
A provoking sentence, inducing curiosity that couldn't be itched, showed up on the screen. A burst of laughter could also be heard in the background.
"Find out in 3 days, April 13th, at our channel!"
With that, the screen turned blank, and Mr. Taka walked to the podium. With a confident smile on his face, he held the edge of the wood and leaned forward.
"That's our announcement. We will enter the question-and-answer segment now. Please raise your hand if you have a question."
Hearing that sentence, all reporters raised their hands at once.

"It's really rowdy," Max commented as he watched the question-and-answer segment going on from a back room together with the other streamers. "These reporters are really energetic, reminding me of someone."
"Hahaha, it's usually quieter. The bait that Mr. Taka threw was really effective." Flexy answered as he closed the one-way mirror, placing his hand on it and looking at Max.
"It's thanks to your ridiculous record-breaking feat. I still couldn't believe that happened. Too bad we can't upload it to our channel before the program. There is that NDA stuff, you know?"
"Right…"
That was indeed too bad for Max, as he could gain a lot of traction in his next stream if he could upload his record-breaking video.
However, there was also an NDA agreement when he signed a contract. So he couldn't carelessly leak the 'content' used by the company before it was released.
Still, Max thought it was better this way.
'Biozone Entertainment can promote it better than I do. Surely, there will be people interested and visit my livestream later.'
Besides, he would be able to release it afterward. On top of that…
'There is the promised reward because of me breaking a record in Biozone Entertainment's testing facility. Whether I win or not, I will be invited to the Biozone monthly segment to be interviewed. And if I win the program, I will be given a different bonus, which is still a mystery.'
It made him smile.
The press conference ended after all the streamers were introduced.
Naturally, they just used their tag name and hid their real names.
StoneSword was really calm in front of all the reporters and answered all questions directed to him skillfully.
Flexy, with his energetic personality, also managed to handle the questions like a professional. Everyone was curious how he met with Breeze, and he answered by watching the latest video on his channel instead of outright answering it. The answer was there.
As for RoninKnight, he only answered with 'Yes,' 'I will do my best,' 'I am hoping for the best,' or something similar. He was quite nervous in front of cameras and reporters as this was the first program he joined.
Just like them, Max also faced a few questions. Some of the questions were aimed at finding out who among them broke the record. But he didn't reveal anything and just answered the questions vaguely.
There was one question about what parkour was, and it was at that moment he realized this world didn't know parkour. He needed to explain it in simple terms and make them understand what it was.
Surely, that would be enough and cause no trouble. He even made sure to use 'obstacles' instead of 'anything you can find around the area.'
The reporters moved on to Lily and MadLad after three questions. Mr. Taka put a limit on the questions reporters could ask because it would never end otherwise.
Everyone was allowed to return home after Mr. Taka told them that Biozone Entertainment had sent a little 'gift' to their residence as written in the contract.
Max exited the building first as he planned to return as soon as possible and enjoy his free time until tonight, searching for an online game he should play next in his new capsule.
However, as he was about to cross the street and go to the station, someone called out to him.
"Max."
Only one person would call his real name in this place.
Turning around, Max saw the only pair of siblings walking out of the building toward him. He smiled at them and greeted her back.
"Hello. Are you guys about to take the Sky Rail to return, too?" Then he turned to StoneSword as they stopped before him.
"We are about to return, but not with Sky Rail." StoneSword replied on Lily's behalf, "And I heard from Lily that you lived around Lime City?"
"That's right." Max nodded at him.
There was no need to deny it. He met Lily for the first and second time in a park near his apartment.
"Perfect." StoneSword smiled at him, "How about you return with us? It will be faster than Sky Rail."
"Come with us." Lily added with a nod, "We will fly."
'Fly?' Max thought as he looked at them, confused by the sudden invitation.
But once again, he was interested in what they meant by flying. Going back alone would be lonely. And Flexy, his friend, had another plan with his sponsor, so he left early.
If he accepted StoneSword's invitation, he could also talk and ask for tips to stream from him, which was a rare chance. The guy seemed to change how he viewed him too, and became more friendly.
There might be a chance he would tell him a secret or two about the industry.
'I can also ask for an online game recommendation from him. That will be better than trying to research and save me from a headache.'
So…
"If it doesn't bother you… I will be in your care."
He accepted the invitation.
Lily smiled when she heard his answer. StoneSword also nodded.
"I will also be in your care. Let's prepare for the arrival of our vehicle then."
They turned around and walked inside the building once again, much to Max's confusion. But then, he realized something.
'Fly... Are they using a helicopter to return to Lime City?'
Max quickly followed them so he wasn't left behind.
Unfortunately, that thinking was naïve and originated from Earth and a poor boy living in a government apartment. He greatly underestimated the technology and the power of money in this world and soon would be forced to understand it.
