Chapter 129: Wait For Me Jane.
Kyle was going to settle it all tonight and was gaining on Mike, he wasn't going to fight Mike on the road or he might risk putting Jane in danger.
He hated that he had to do this but Mike made the fatal mistake of involving Jane.
She belonged to him and he wasn't going to let anyone spoil her, especially not a dog like Mike.
Kyle noticed that Mike must have reached his location because Jane was stationary, it had been that way for more than thirty minutes so they must have reached their destination.
He knew he had to be patient, he had to wait and when he neared the location, he turned off the headlights of his car, effectively blinding himself.
Kyle parked his car and left it, he made up the rest of the distance on foot but this place was deserted.
There wasn't a building in sight, Kyle couldn't understand what was going on but where did he plan to keep Jane?
But his question was soon answered, Kyle noticed that there was a town, if it could be called that because the few buildings standing there were in a state.
He couldn't understand what Mike intended to do with Jane but this would be the perfect place to confront him.
There was no one around here, it looked like someone tried to build a city here and abandoned the project halfway due to the location that it was saturated.
There was no way for electricity to find its way here nor was water accessible.
Kyle wasn't aware that such a place existed until now but that was partly due to the fact that he didn't go anywhere.
Kyle was a man who liked to stay in the comfort of his home, nothing was bringing him out here for any reason whatsoever.
However, he remained hidden because something told him that Mike wasn't the only person there.
And he was right because he heard a few voices in the distance but he wasn't sure if they were with Mike or just people that decided to stay here.
It would beat being homeless on the street because here they had buildings to take shelter in but they had limited access to water so it was highly unlikely that they were homeless.
He wasn't some soldier in the secret service, Kyle knew he could barely fight one person talkless of multiple people, he would not only have his ass beat but the chances of that happening without him landing a punch were high.
Kyle knew that the lottery ticket he had responded to the situation but he had no lottery tickets left. He knew that a lottery ticket might save him from this situation and the fact that Kyle could think clearly under these circumstances was impressive in itself. Chapter Stay:
He knew that he was given a ticket with every milestone reached and the next one in line was to spend $1,000,000,000 but he didn't have that much money in his bank account, which was ironic considering he had a system that could grant him that in minutes.
Kyle checked his phone but he had no signal, he wanted to send money to Calista and proceed to send the cashback rewards as well to total a billion but that was out of the equation because there was no signal to carry out the transfer.
This place was like a dead zone but Kyle knew that his system should bypass this advantage, it would be silly to rely on a mobile network to make transactions when the system randomly dumped money in his account so it should be able to transfer it out as well, shouldn't it?
Kyle was about to discover another function of his system and that was its ability to make transfers by its host's command.
"I want you to transfer $20,000,000 from my account into Isabella's account…" Kyle instructed his system. He knew that she was the only one who could send this money without too many questions being asked. He couldn't send it to Calista or Aiysha, that would bring up a ton of questions but Isabella, he could simply disguise it as funds for the agency even though the amount was insane. It would be the perfect cover and that was what Kyle needed right now, he needed that billionaire status. He had roughly over $400,000,000 in his account before this transfer and sending $20,000,000 to Isabella effectively brought it to the original value of $400,000,000.
This was quick thinking from Kyle because the requirements to be a billionaire were achieved.
[Ding!]
[Transaction in progress…]
[Transaction complete!]
[Ding!]
[Spent $20,000,000. 50X Critical Hit. Earned $1,000,000,000! The money has been transferred to account XXX-XXX-XXX!]
[Spent at least $20,000,000 on a beautiful lady!]
[You have received 1 extreme lottery!]
[Do you want to draw?]
[YES][NO]
The familiar cyan screen appeared in front of him and Kyle couldn't contain his smile because he wasn't sure this would work.
He couldn't send money to just anyone as he didn't have their account, weaponizing his attraction for Isabella but that was the entire point of the system.
He knew he had to think on his feet and managed to do that, he chose [YES] without a moment's hesitation.
He knew that this moment could ultimately impact whether Jane came out of this unscathed or not.
[Congratulations! You have drawn Extreme Copycat!]
[Extreme Copycat: this user can perfectly copy any actions he sees and mimic!]
Kyle understood that this was a skill that worked a lot like his Total Recall except it granted him the ability to remember everything so it was like this was given as a compliment to that.
Kyle was relieved because he was a gamer and a person who watched a lot of movies but was it applicable in real time? He had seen a lot of useless self-defense videos online and the last thing he would want is to try and disarm a man with the wrong knowledge only to be shot in the balls.
That was the question because seeing how it is done in a movie is one thing, knowing whether it is a realistic action or not is another.
Kyle wasn't going to gamble his life on that and instead chose to mimic stealth but this skill gave him the avenue to learn actual combat styles with it.
Kyle also noticed that he was given only a single lottery but he wasn't surprised considering the system was upgraded with a better multiplier meaning it wasn't as tasking as it would have been to get to a billion.
Kyle managed to move past them without making a single sound and with that, got close to Jane and his goal.
There was also the possibility that these people weren't a threat but it wasn't a risk he was willing to take; however, Kyle saw this as something he could take advantage of as well.
"Wait for me, Jane…"
