Chapter 29 29. Treasures (2)
"Wow Reina." Said Lucius a little amazed
"I have to admit, your way of storing your treasures is a very thorough method. You even invested so much money in turning a simple room into a hidden treasure house."
Hearing this, Reina just shook her head.
"Although I do want your praise, it's unfortunate that I can't claim the credit this time." Said Reina
"When I took over this old fort, I accidentally discovered a set of these hidden blueprints in the main hall. It seems like whoever built this fort in the first place wanted a secure and safe place to store his treasures away from anyone else. My only regret is that with such a powerful hidden safe, was that it was already empty when I found it. If not, then based on the quality of the treasures stored in the wealth she would gain inside would never be low!
Reina walked up towards the metal frame and started working on the lock to open the doors.
As she did this Lucius walked beside her and took a closer look at the metal made up the doors and couldn't help but sigh.
The metal was a dark silver colour but still shows faint signs of glowing from time to time. Based on this alone it was clearly some sort of magic metal or magic alloy. It was just that Lucius's knowledge of such matters was still poor, so there was no way for him to identify them.
But even if he couldn't identify them, he still knew their strength.
Based on the regular strength of even the most basic magic metals and alloys, it was completely impossible for a regular 3rd class fighter to break through such a wall and yet the original MC of the story had managed to break though.
'Tch! It's not good to compare myself to these OP munchkins in the future or else I might get demotivated.' Thought Lucius
Of course, even if the protagonist is a bit op, with his heroine capture system as he earns Love Points and buys a few good talents, he won't be too embarrassed in the future right!
Hell, in theory if he earned enlightened Love Points, it was possible to buy enough talents to become so OP even the protagonist could only watch on in admiration.
Of course, that was only in theory.
Just the price of one of these MC level talents was enough to make Lucius feel cold let alone several of them.
"Click!"
As Lucius was having these miscellaneous thoughts, Reina finished up with the lock, allowing the doors to swing open.
With that, the group didn't waste any time and entered the basement below.
The rooms weren't anything fancy, just a small basement cellar, but it was still filled with enough treasures to make Lucius's hands itchy.
There were several potions and other herbs that could be used to aid in a fighters physical training and mana training there was also a magic axe that glowed in a faint red light.
Clearly this was Reina's original weapon that she hid when she was performing her failed sneak attack yesterday.
In addition to these magic potions, there was a bag of treasures that made even Lucius's eyes a little hot.
Magic stones!
These were high ranking treasures and a method of solid currency.
The value of magic stones was over double their weight in gold!
Various Alchemy constructs and weapons used magic stones as their fuel source.
Magical methods of transport such as airships and mana trains also use magic stones.
Magic stones also have a major use for mages such as beings use In the casting of many spells and creating large scale magic circles.
Damn! A bandit like her is actually this rich!
Lucius couldn't help but give Reina a second glance.
Not only was she strong, but she was bold as well.
Someone who carried magic stones on them could never be an ordinary person, yet she still dared rob them or else there would never even be any magic stones here.
Reina should thank her lucky stars that Lucius didn't have a storage bag or storage ring on him right now or else this entire place would be completely swept clean!
Besides the mana stones there was even a few pieces of magic equipment, but these were nothing too special.
Clearly, they were all failed magic equipment created by magic apprentices that often flowed into the market.
Even a commoner could bring these low quality items if he had enough gold coins
Lucius looked around the treasure pile and finally set eyes on the object he was looking for.
Based on its appearance, it was easy to catch Lucius's attention.
Lucius picked it up and looked at it with keen interest.
It was a strange amulet made with exquisite craftsmanship in the strange irregular shape of a burning flame.
The amulet seemed to be forged from a shiny bronze that showed no signs of rusting despite its age. All along the bronze amulet were exquisitely carved symbols of the Barbarian people that represented courage, wisdom and valour and deep in the middle of the amulet lay a large burning red gemstone that seemed to capture the eyes of anyone that laid eyes on it.
The strange amulet lay hooked onto a sturdy metal chain that was ordained with small feathers and animal teeth. Giving the rather refined amulet a strong and wild barbaric taste.
Reina saw Lucius was hooked on the amulet and couldn't help but ask.
"Are you interested in the treasure?"
"Yeah." Replied Lucius nonchalantly
"Do you know what it is?" Asked Lucius
Although Lucius knew that this was a big treasure with an important secret, he was curious to see what Reina knew about it.
