Chapter 25 - Eyes For Eyes
"Where's the coffee I ordered?" Aiden asked one of the servants nearby. The waiter was startled and immediately rushed to get the coffee for Aiden.
It didn't take long until the waiter returned with a hot cup of coffee. He placed it in front of Aiden and said in a trembling voice, "Please, sir." Because the waiter was so afraid of Aiden, without waiting for Aiden to answer, he immediately ran back to his colleagues.
Fear radiated in Natali's eyes seeing the coffee glass placed in front of Aiden. She was afraid that the man would do the same thing she did to Anya. The coffee she poured on Anya was cold because they had been in the air-conditioned room for a long time. However, the coffee served in front of Aiden was still hot and steaming. Any skin could burn if the coffee were splashed on it.
Natali wasn't the only one who thought like that. Deny also thought of the same thing. He immediately pulled Natali's hand, telling her to apologize to Aiden and Anya. Maybe by apologizing, Aiden would forget what he was going to do.
"Natali, hurry and apologize to Aiden and Anya."
"I ..." Natali was really reluctant, but she was not a fool. She knew what Aiden meant to order the coffee. She knew what the man was going to do.
She immediately knelt in front of Anya and Aiden, begging them, "Forgive me!" cried Natali, "I admit my mistake. Please forgive me…" Actually, Natali was not sorry because she regretted her mistake. It was only because she was afraid of Aiden.
Seeing Natali kneeling before her and hearing apologies leave her mouth, Anya felt her heart melt a little. But it was different with Aiden. He did not care about her apologies at all.
Aiden was not a flabby man simply because his sight was harmed. He was known as a very cruel figure. He didn't care who he was dealing with. Man or woman, if that person planned bad things to him, he would definitely retaliate even more cruelly.
Aiden lifted the coffee cup and brought it to his lips, taking a slow sip. Seeing this, Natali immediately breathed a sigh of relief. Her worries were unfounded. However, the words that left Aiden's lips further made her realize that she was too stupid. Aiden wouldn't forgive her just because she begged for mercy.
"This coffee is too hot," He said casually. Then, he threw the contents of the glass towards Natali. He threw it right at her face. Natali immediately reflexively used her hands to protect her face. She didn't want to have her face damaged by hot water. Hence, in the end, her hands were flushed red from the hot water, causing her to scream out in pain. Her face also got a little splash, so she flushed too.
"Hot ... hot ..." She shouted, crying. She fell to the ground while writhing because the pain he felt was unbearable. Her hands and face were flushed red, while her neck and body were famous for being splashed and blistered. Her tears were rushing down her face, making her make-up run off. But she didn't care. All she could think about right now was the pain she felt all over her body.
Anya could only be stunned when she saw Natali screaming in pain. She also did not expect that Aiden would act this cruel. However, she knew that Aiden did all that for her. She could have been in Natali's position if only the coffee Natali had poured on her was still hot. Just seeing Natali's condition made her grimace in pain, even though she wasn't the one who felt the pain directly.
But still, this incident made Anya feel a little afraid of Aiden.
Meanwhile, Deny immediately took a cold water bottle from the table next to him and hurriedly poured it into Natali's hands, face, neck and body parts that were hit by the hot water. The cold water made Natali feel less sore.
While continuing to help Natali, Deny turned to Aiden and said, "Aiden, please forgive Natali. She's still young and doesn't understand anything."
Aiden just stared straight ahead with a cold gaze, as if nothing had happened before him. He looked at Deny and asked, "When you saw Natali pouring a coffee glass on Anya, did you also care like this?"
Anya was also his daughter. Did Deny do the same for Anya, like what he did for Natali? Aiden's question left Deny speechless. He didn't do anything when Natali poured coffee on Anya. He did not defend Anya nor did he try to help her. What could he say to defend himself?
Deny knew there was no point begging Aiden. The only thing he could do at this point was ask Anya for help. Whatever Anya said, Aiden would have heard it.
"Anya, please forgive Natali. Let dad take her to the hospital." Deny begged Anya in panic.
Seeing her father's panic, there was a hint of bitterness rising in her heart. Her father did not do the same for him. Her father was silent when Natali doused her with coffee. The man did not look panicked when her whole body was soaked because of the other daughter's doing. However, when all this happened to Natali, her father looked very panicked. It was such an irony that both of them were their father's daughters.
"Anya!" said Deny once again. "After all, Natali is your sister. No matter what she has done, Natali is part of your family."
Aiden could see the uncertainty in Anya's eyes. That woman was too kind. Her heart was too soft that she felt sorry for even those who had hurt her.
"Don't be so merciful. Remember what they did to you. Remember what your father did to you and your mother." Aiden said in a low voice.
"Hmm ... I know ..." Anya replied, her voice filled with sadness. She leaned her head on Aiden's shoulder softly, as if she was very tired
When she got soaked because Natali poured coffee on her, no one helped her, including her own father. When her father slapped her, no one helped her. She stood there alone, protecting herself from shame, hurt, anger, while everyone else was attacking her!
"Can we go home now?" She asked Aiden in a weak voice.
"Hmm …Let's go home." Said Aiden, holding Anya's hand, leading her to leave the place.
He completely ignored the two people in front of him and immediately turned around. Anya turned her head once, shooting her pitiful gaze at her father and Natali one last time.
Natali was still sitting on the floor holding her burned hand while Deny tried to help her.
Everyone around them seemed unwilling to interfere after understanding the true story. They felt that Natali deserved it after what she did.
Even in the midst of enduring the pain she felt, Natali could still look at Anya with hatred.
