Chapter 525 - 525 - I Hope You’ll Meet A Good Man
"There's nothing to talk about," Jean stuttered as her body trembled.
Rejected, Park Soo Hyun finally got out of his car to persuade Jean to come with him. This was very important so that his heart would be calm.
"Jean, I beg you because there is something very important," Park Soo Hyun pleaded.
Jean took a deep breath. In the end, she subconsciously nodded her head. It was undeniable that there was a longing feeling to meet this man.
Park Soo Hyun drove his car again after Jean got into the car. The two of them were both silent for some time without anyone wanting to make a sound.
They were busy with their own thoughts. Park Soo Hyun didn't even know where to start the conversation. It was impossible to say it directly.
Likewise with Jean who chose to remain silent while looking to the side to see the scenery outside. Until her hair swayed in the wind.
The atmosphere really felt awkward until it made Jean stay in her position. Even to shift her buttocks because she felt uncomfortable by just sitting, Jean didn't dare to do it.
"Hmm, how are you?" Finally, Park Soo Hyun opened his voice to melt the tense atmosphere.
"I'm fine," said Jean curtly. If she remembered when Park Soo Hyun came to see her at the hospital with all his words. Honestly, it still hurts a lot.
"Where are you working now? I visited the Griffin Bar several times but you weren't there," said Park Soo Hyun in a flat tone.
The past few days, Park Soo Hyun really couldn't sleep well so he decided to go to a bar to unwind.
"None of your business," said Jean nonchalantly.
"How's your health? I hope you're fine now." Park Soo Hyun could understand that Jean hated him because he didn't want to take responsibility. Moreover, the words that came out that day might sound hurtful to Jean.
"As you can see right now, I'm fine," said Jean with a glazed look ahead.
Park Soo Hyun took a deep breath. Didn't know how to start a conversation that would lead to more sensitive things. There was no way he would speak directly to Jean about something that wasn't necessarily true.
There was a bad feeling in his heart because Jean always answered his questions nonchalantly.
"You look pale today. Did the doctor say something to you? It seems that today we are experiencing the same thing," Park Soo Hyun provoked to talk further.
"What do you mean?" Jean turned her face to look at the man beside her with gloomy eyes.
Their gazes locked for a moment but Park Soo Hyun immediately turned to look at the road ahead.
Park Soo Hyun could see Jean's visible face. Jean's face was no longer as happy as it used to be when she was still working at the hotel. Her eyes now looked droopy with black eyelids.
"You just came from the hospital. So I think something must have happened to you. Are you all right?" Park Soo Hyun explained so that Jean would not be too aware of the direction of the next conversation.
"Don't worry too much and pretend to be sorry because I'm fine," Jean quipped in a flat tone. Her hunch was that Park Soo Hyun might have realized about her pregnancy.
"I'm really sorry if my words that day hurt you very much. But I really can't be responsible," said Park Soo Hyun with a long sigh.
Jean chose not to answer. Her hopes of wanting to hold him accountable were likely to be in vain. Before she could say anything, Park Soo Hyun even apologized first.
"Jean, I hope you'll meet a good man. You are a good girl so there will definitely be a man who will accept you," said Park Soo Hyun. He knew that maybe his words had hurt Jean's heart but his feelings really couldn't be forced.
Jean's eyelids were getting hotter and heavier. There were tears that she held in the corners of her eyes to keep them from falling. Even though her heart was now like being slashed by a knife.
"Is it something important that you wanted to say? You even said it that day. If you really can't open your heart to me, that's fine," said Jean, holding back her emotions and keeping her eyes fixed on the front.
"No. There's actually something more important than this." Park Soo Hyun paused for a moment before asking about that point.
"Are you pregnant?" he asked in a heavy voice.
Jean looked up with wide eyes. The tears that had been condensing in the corners of her eyes suddenly dried up.
'How could he know that?' Jean thought with a pounding heart. Until unconsciously her left hand touched her stomach which was still flat.
"Jean, if you're pregnant you better be honest. You must be confused about the reason I can know about it. My family members do experience something when their wife is pregnant," explained Park Soo Hyun a little so that Jean wouldn't feel confused.
"I'm not pregnant," said Jean, her heart was already pounding.
"You don't need to pretend. If you really don't want the child, you should just abort it. No need to worry because I will pay for everything. We will go to the best doctor," said Park Soo Hyun. What he said might sounded evil and inhuman. But he really can't pretend to love someone.
Like an arrow pierced through Jean's heart, the tears that she had been trying to hold back finally fell with her broken feelings for the umpteenth time.
"I know you definitely don't want the child," Park Soo Hyun continued without caring about the tears that were already streaming down Jean's cheeks.
'You're wrong, Soo Hyun. I actually want this child even though you will never admit it,' Jean thought with a very tight feeling in her chest.. She could only say in that in her heart because her lips felt numb to speak.
