Chapter 356 Permit Registration
Chapter?356 Permit Registration
Shortly after Albion entered Netherglow City, he sensed the sneaky gazes of many people.
This wasn't because he was the only human there. No, there were many humans in Netherglow City.
However, there was a big difference between him and them; corporality.
The humans in Netherglow City--or rather, all the nether spirits in Netherglow City were half-spirit, half-corporal beings.
Apart from these curious yet sneaky glances he was getting, Albion also sensed the more subtle glances of watchers, guards, and even seemingly ordinary nether spirits mixed in the bustling crowds on the street.
There was no doubt that he was being spied on.
Nevertheless, Albion simply smiled in response while casually strolling down the busy streets and browsing the commons wares on display.
Spiritual tools were as common as cabbages sold in supermarkets, but their qualities vary; the higher quality ones were naturally less commonly found on the streets.
Like martial arts, the quality of spiritual tools was divided into Mortal, Earth, Mystic, Heaven, and Immortal grades.
Only Mystic-grade spiritual tools were seen on display, with the exception of a few low Heaven-grade spiritual tools.
Anything of higher quality was yet to be spotted.
While Albion walked through the crowd, the nether spirits all made way for him before going on with their daily lives, minding their own businesses.
They had no reason to bother a True Immortal, especially when Albion did not bother to hide his True Immortal Aura.
Unless they were tired of living, they wouldn't pick a fight with a True Immortal for no reason.
Thud.
Suddenly, a burly pig-headed orc swayed through the crowd before bumping into Albion.
Contrary to one's expectations, the drunk pig-headed orc did not apologize but angrily smacked Albion on the chest instead.
"Watch where you're going, you blind mutt!" the pig-headed orc roared while swaying left and right, back and forth.
Nevertheless, Albion did not budge in the slightest from the blow.
"..."
At the same time, the surrounding became quieter, almost like pin-drop silence, as everyone paused their activities to watch the situation.
"Don't cha think you should apologize after bumping into someone? Where are your manners?!" the pig-headed orc barked.
Alas, Albion's silence in the matter only made the pig-headed orc even angrier in his drunken stupor.
"Hmph! I ought to teach ya some manners!" the pig-headed orc snorted before his eyes flickered with a fierce glint.
In the next moment, a ghostly apparition separated from the pig-headed orc's body before attacking Albion's soul directly.
It was a spiritual attack with the pig-headed orc's soul.
However...
Bzzt!
The 10th Tribulation Lightning immediately annihilated the foreign threat and removed it from existence.
Ding!
<You have eliminated a grade-4 nether spirit>
<You have gained 35 EXP>
<Your soul depth has improved>
...
"..."
Shortly after the system notifications alerted, the pig-headed orc's body dropped to the ground, dead.
Albion was speechless.
Apart from people tired of living, he forgot to mention that drunkards and idiots were also included on the list.
"Ah, I knew this was going to happen when Bardosa bumped into the True Immortal... Poor guy..."
"After his parents died in the nether storm a few months ago, his son killed himself from carnal overindulgence a few weeks ago, his wife left him for a handsome kobold a few days ago, and a thief robbed his secret stash of treasures last night, he was already tired of living."
"I didn't expect him to kill himself like this, though..."
...
Albion overheard the nearby nether spirits casually talking over the pig-headed orc's death as if such scenes were common.
Nevertheless, he couldn't help but smile ruefully at the pig-headed orc's lamentable situation.
"They say liquor wouldn't solve all your problems, but it was worth a shot, huh?" Albion wryly uttered while glancing at the pig-headed orc's corpse.
Shortly after, he stepped over it and continued on his way.
He moved away from the crowded main streets and entered the less-populated rural area of Netherglow City, but the watchful eyes of the nearby spies never left his body.
However, he walked into a local pub and entered its public toilet, resulting in the spies losing sight of him.
Half an hour later, a handsome half corporal-looking dark elf left the pub after listening to the casual gossips inside for some time.
'Looks like I've successfully fooled all the spies. As expected of myself, my disguise is impeccable,'
Albion shamelessly thought to himself while returning to the crowded main streets with his new appearance.
His True Immortal Aura was utterly withdrawn into his body.
At the same time, a layer of illusion coated his body, making him look no different from any other nether spirits, a denizen of the Netherworld Realm.
Albion casually strolled down the bustling streets again, but the feeling was completely different from before; there were no longer odd looks directed at him.
To other nether spirits, he was just another passerby on the streets.
It didn't take long before Albion located the building used for getting official permits and identity and entered it.
Then, he headed straight for the clerk at one of the empty booths.
"Hi, how can I help you today, sir?" the pretty female draconian with long red hair greeted.
"I've been in Netherglow City for some time, and I must admit I like this place very much. As such, I want to register for an official residential permit," Albion stated his business.
"Of course, sir. May I see your temporary permit?" the female clerk requested.
After Albion handed over the transparent red crystal, the female clerk placed it into the empty socket of another spiritual tool used for reading the information stored within the red crystal.
At a glance, the transparent red crystal appeared to be the same as before, but a subtle crack could be found on it with a closer look.
Without any surprises, the female clerk slightly frowned at being unable to read the information stored in the red crystal.
"Is there a problem?" Albion feigned ignorance.
"The temporary permit's information has been corrupted, so I cannot record any of the information stored within--Ah, but fret not; such cases are usually common among the temporary permit, sir," the female clerk explained.
"You can still register for a residential permit; we just have to record your information manually into your new permit crystal. May I have your name first, sir?"
"Sure, my name is Sum Ting Wong," Albion calmly answered.
