Chapter 32 - A Kidnapping Case
"Papa, save me!"
After the young girl's cry was heard, the voice immediately switched over to an older men's voice, "Mr. Klein? If you want to save your daughter, come to the old Lionshore Warehouse on Sanders Street, alone with—"
While Albion listened to what appeared to be kidnapping and call for ransom, the Brick phone suddenly went silent and ended the call.
He took the Brick phone away from his ears and glanced at it with confusion. Shortly after, he smiled wryly when he realized that the phone's battery was dead.
"Oh, Mr. Klein, Mr. Klein, you actually gave me a Nokia with flat batteries. Now that the call suddenly got hung up, the kidnappers will think that you do not care about your darling daughter."
Albion shook his head helplessly.
It seems that he will need to go save Mr. Klein's daughter. If he thought about it, it was both an inconvenience and a convenience.
On one hand, he will not need to go find a phone store to buy a charger to charge the dead phone if he goes and save Mr. Klein's daughter. On the other hand, he had to go to save Mr. Klein's daughter.
"Haiz, whatever. I can just find a nice place to eat some good food and drink some good alcohol later. I'll go save Mr. Klein's daughter first." Albion frowned and decided.
Returning to civilization after 25 months of dark isolation, the first thing he wanted to do was precisely eat some good f*cking good and drink good f*cking alcohol.
"I am unfamiliar with Silvercove, so I will need to find someone to ask for directions towards the old Lionshore Warehouse on Sanders Street… Seems like there is no one left from the gang around, good."
After quickly observing surroundings and failing to discover anyone secretly spying, Albion hopped off the ship and shortly left the port.
Sometime after he left, a person hopped out from the waters next to the factory trawler. The person was precisely Mr. Reiner, who had jumped into the sea previously.
"Finally, that person has left. I need to report to Boss Benedict and let him know about this person who ruined our business." Mr. Reiner said to himself before weakly disappearing into the night.
…
Old Lionshore Warehouse, Sanders Street.
"…If you want to save your daughter, come to the old Lionshore Warehouse on Sanders Street, along with *beep* 20 million dollars in—What the f*ck? Mother f*cker hanged up on me!" The person growled and smashed the smartphone onto the ground.
The person went by the name of Basilisk in the city of Silvercove. He was an old-time thug who had recently been released from prison after serving his sentence.
He had a moderately large build with defining muscles and a height of 185cm. His left arm was covered in black and red snake tattoos, and a frightening long scar was seen running diagonally across the center of his face.
After leaving prison, it was impossible to turn over a new leaf and find a stable job to live a normal life. As such, he had quickly reverted to his old ways to make a living.
Inside the old warehouse, the youngest daughter of Klein Seymour was seen tied to a wooden chair and surrounded by five other men, Basilisk included.
"Boss, what should we do now?" Asked a thug after glancing at the smashed smartphone on the dirt-ridden ground.
"From the information we have gathered, Seymour Klein dotes on his second daughter the most even though she has become rebellious and likes to hang out with people around nightclubs and bars. There is no way that Seymour Klein does not care about his second daughter's life."
Basilisk frowned.
He had been too rash and should not have smashed his phone. Now he does not have a phone to call again. If the phone had sentience, it would have complained about what it had done wrong to deserve such treatment.
"Silvercove port is not far from here, and Seymour Klein had just returned from a long fishing trip. Perhaps, he had forgotten to charge his phone and the battery just happens to die at that moment?" A thug said with doubt.
"That might just be the case. Now I regret smashing my phone. Who else has a phone I can borrow?" Basilisk asked his men.
Everyone looked at each other with awkwardness. None of them had one. All of them were the bottom rungs of society that lives in the slum area of Silvercove. All their money was invested in alcohol and women.
Even if they had a phone, they would still pretend that they did not have one. Who knows if something will go wrong during the second call and cause the boss to smash their phone as well? A smartphone was not that cheap. They could not afford to be that extravagant!
"Forget it. I will go use the public telephone booth outside, across the road from here. Wait for me here." Ordered Basilisk. He wore a cheap brown bucket hat to cover his face before stepping outside.
The old Lionshore Warehouse was not far from Silvercove Port. It was only a short two-kilometer walk away.
After Basilisk walked to the edge of the road and waited for the traveling vehicles to be cleared from the road, he saw a young sailor approaching on the footpath from the port's direction.
"Excuse me, is this the old Lionshore Warehouse on Sanders Street?" Asked the young sailor.
Basilisk was immediately alarmed in his heart, but he remained steady and calm on the surface. "Yeah, it is." He said.
"Thanks."
The young sailor expressed and left without another word.
At the same time, Basilisk frowned as he pondered, 'Did Seymour Klein send this scrawny kid to scout the area for him? Hmph! He is too bold! I better knock this kid out first and ask him questions later.'
Dang!
Basilisk snuck up behind the young sailor and delivered a strong chop to the back of the person's neck, but it was like he had just struck an iron plate. The person he struck was precisely Albion.
"Argh, what the hell are you made of?" Basilisk groaned with shock. Was this kid a robot in human skin? How can someone be so strong?
At the same time, Albion turned around studied the person before asking confusedly, "Why did you hit me?"
"Oh, I get it. You must be part of the kidnappers. In that case, you can come with me." Albion shortly added with a thoughtful look before Basilisk could answer.
In the next moment, a vice-like grip latched onto Basilisk's throats before he could react. He was shocked by the superhuman strength displayed by the scrawny kid when he tried to resist but to no avail.
"Cough* Who the heck are you?" Basilisk questioned.
"Someone you don't need to know."
The person was helplessly dragged back to the warehouse by the throat without the slightest strength to fight back.
