Chapter 337 - Murderous Intent That Covers The Sky
Back in the Blackthorne Group's conference room, the meeting gradually came to a conclusion.
Although the Blackthorne Group has many concerns and issues, they can solve everything once they reach the adequate strength level required.
Albion had given them what they needed to make that happen; cultivation arts and pills to back up their training.
The only thing left was effort and hard work on their end.
"If there is nothing else, I will be returning to my home on Skylark Hills to enter secluded training. So don't bother me unless it's something important," Albion calmly stated.
"Yes, boss!"
Maverick Cohen and the others stood in files before they bowed and showed Albion the greatest display of respect.
"We have benefited greatly from your visit, boss! We will ensure that you will not have anything to worry about the Blackthorne Group and cultivate with a peace of mind!"
"I hope so," Albion gave them a casual glance before saying, "The whole world is changing at an ever-increasing pace, and the only way to cope with such changes is to become stronger."
"I hope that by the time I exit my retreat, half of you would have reached Spirit Refinement Realm," Albion added.
If they cannot even reach the Spirit Refinement Realm with the assistance he had given them, they might as well prepare for their funerals.
Those without talent for cultivation will not be able to survive the calamities to come.
When Maverick Cohen and the others heard Albion's words, they could not help but twitch their lips and feel a certain pressure weighing down on their hearts.
They weren't sure how long their boss's secluded training would last, but did the boss mean that he would kill them if they failed to meet his expectations?
Although they were curious, they thought it was better not to ask.
It did seem like something the Dark Emperor would do.
As the group prepared to send their boss off, Albion recalled something and said, "Oh, yes. Remember to send some men to guard the vicinity of my home."
"It will be bothersome if pesty thieves come to rob the spirit herbs I planted. I will be using those herbs to refine better cultivation pills for the Blackthorne Group in the future, so I also doubt that anyone of you would like others to steal them."
"Understood, boss! You can leave this matter to me! I will send capable men to guard them well!" Maverick Cohen promised with a solemn look.
Since the boss has said as much, it wouldn't be wrong to say that their future growth depended on those very spiritual herbs.
"Good." Albion nodded.
He couldn't leave a mundane job like guarding the spiritual herbs to Fenriri all the time.
She also needed to cultivate, and the best place for that was the Glacia continent, where it was cold and filled with cold energy, not to mention the spiritual energy spilling from the Netherfrost Blizzard Realm.
It was cold, but not too cold; a perfect level of coldness for the Iceborn Wolf Tribesmen.
After settling his matters at the Blackthorne Group, Albion left the headquarters without hesitation, flying his way back to the hilltop mansion through the sky.
When the hilltop mansion came into view, his expression immediately darkened as he increased his flight speed.
...
At that moment, Fenriri was fighting the four disciples to the best of her abilities, not only for the sake of protecting her master's herbs but for her survival.
Although the Peak-stage Aura Lord was equivalent to Peak-stage Innate Realm, Fenriri had an overwhelming advantage in physical strength due to her hunter level.
However, the four disciples from Ancient Sects were also not stupid enough to exchange direct blows with her and fought her using their advantages in numbers and teamwork.
With Fenriri's lack of battle experience, it was difficult for her to contend against four opponents.
As such, the situation became one where neither side held the upper hands, making it a tragic battle of attrition.
The ancient sect disciples suffered broken bones, deep claw wounds, and severed limbs, while Fenriri sustained numerous sword wounds.
Their blood scattered across the herb garden, and both seemed like they would die from blood loss.
Even if the four disciples wanted to leave, they no longer could.
"Absolute madness! We haven't taken anything, and we don't even want to kill you anymore, so why won't you just let us go? Why must we fight so desperately?!" Jiang Zhihao roared madly.
With one of his arms broken and the other one severed, no amount of precious herbs would be able to make up for the loss.
"You have ruined my master's herbs! You have to pay with your lives!" Fenriri cried furiously despite the pain and exhaustion accumulated on her small body.
No herbs were stolen, but dozens of herbs were still wasted due to the devastation of the battle.
Neither side gained anything and only suffered losses.
Even so, Fenriri was unwilling to let them go.
"You crazy little b*tch! If you want to die together, then I will satisfy your wish!" one of the female disciple's eyes flickered with madness as she threw herself forward in a kamikaze attack.
Boom!
Albion suddenly dropped down from the sky, causing a surge of wind to be blasted outwards as he landed in between them.
The severely weakened female disciple failed to withstand the wind pressure and was blown a few yards away.
Fenriri glanced up at her master's face before weakly explaining, "Master… Fenriri tried to stop them from stealing master's herbs, but the herbs…"
"Un, I know." Albion calmly nodded on the surface before saying, "You did a good job. You may rest now and leave this matter to your master."
"Yes, Master…"
Fenriri finally relaxed after hearing his words before she collapsed from exhaustion, but Albion caught her before her head hit the ground.
After feeding Fenriri with his blood to help her body quickly recover, Albion turned his head to face the four disciples who had been rooted on the spot, locked down by his mental power.
But even without his mental power, the crimson glint in his eyes made them freeze with terror as his surging murderous intent quickly covered the sky and painted it in a shade of redness.
"Don't think for a second that your deaths will be easy and pleasant, mongrels."
