Chapter 41 - Adoption
Thinking about what I just saw earlier, I felt something strange. It is the coolness and awesomeness vibe that I want to experience.
Bruh... Why did I even felt that?
Although it seems impossible for me, but for Ellena, being present, satisfies me somehow. I just feel like it is cool and awesome if Ellena is included in that secret organization.
What do they call themselves anyway? The only purpose I know is to kill their grandfather, however, I don't know other details. Is it perhaps connected with demons? I hope not, but if we'll discover it, better prepare ourselves.
There are still things I need to manage to learn. First, how do I bless? It's a frequent question that has always come to my mind since last night. Thinking about it feels like something that I should focus on.
Second, I feel like we just moved into a path of destruction. Albeit threats can't be seen, I can feel at least, however, things seem off. Obviously, their grandmother wants her grandchildren to become a murderer. Whatever the reason, I don't care, it just seems to be skeptical.
Not that I doubt myself. I am confident with myself, at least. However, there is an advantage to having Ellena join them.
Resources are top of them. That's the number one thing that I notice that we'll have once she joined the main family secret organization or whatsoever.
Sighs… It just feels so big. I know, it's big enough that I should prepare Ellena for the coming of demons, but side things like this feel too heavy to manage on the way.
Nonetheless, let's just set aside those things and focus on what we are right now.
Lushana, the second in command of the main family of Lumbert is now at the dining room with an assistant following her.
She's still wearing noble-class garments, a dress made of expensive materials. Let's not focus on that matter. Apparently, she has something to announce.
"This really seems odd. But, let's not be bothered by it. I just want to let you know that encountering each other on casual days would be rare since we have different schedules." Lushana said before sitting at the chair at the end of the table.
The girls present are just these four girls. I haven't seen new faces like other possible third-generation kids present in this dining room, perhaps they have just other things to focus on.
"Grandma, I want you to talk about what will happen to Ellena and Isabella. I feel like it's the most important thing that must be tackled right now."
Wow… Amber's expression seems to be familiar with her Grandma. Not the type of judgemental about closeness within families, I feel like they are just close that she easily uttered those words.
I hovered a little into Ellena's shoulder.
My pixie body is still enjoyable. What I can say? I like having a body. I can now touch, and feel things!
"Yes, I know that. Ellena and Isabella will be supported by me. Also, Diana, I will support your study as well. But right now, I know that Amber already told you what we must do, it's about the Head. Let's not talk about it here, but I just want to say that, your education wouldn't just be about that. I will have you study various fields of your expertise, a matter that will help you in the future not just for the agenda of having you here. You are all my grandchildren, what can I say about loving you? You're too adorable in reality." She said in a sweet mother-like voice.
Feels like Lushana is the typical mother figure of orphans. I don't have a bad opinion about orphans and their foster parents, it's just what I can see. It doesn't make me rude, isn't it?
Observing the girls, I saw different reactions. Especially Isabella! She appears to be the most surprised among the girls, perhaps that Lushana said that she is included in her grandchildren.
I notice that Diana saw Isabella's expression which made her wonder and asked Lushana. Isabella was surprised by her words, she almost screams in embarrassment.
"Grandma, does it mean that you are adopting Isabella?"
"Diana?!"
Isabella halts after realizing her loud voice. Lushana just released a small chuckle before speaking again. "It is what I said. I want Isabella to be officially part of the Lumbert family. Although my 'husband' is not here, and currently at the capital, I want you to help us with our goal, Isabella." Lushana made assuring words, making Ellena looked at Isabella. She grabbed her hands and tag along with the emotional feelings that Isabella felt at the moment.
"That's good to hear, right Isabella?" Ellena uttered in a sweet low tone.
"Yes." A crack emerged in Isabella's voice, making it obvious that she felt emotional about it.
Ellena wrapped her arms around Isabella, embracing her to send a warm sensation.
Sweet child and responsible elder sister. I hope that the future of her sister would be great as well. I can't help them that much, I can just at least show some support. And being cautious about my existence, I hope that it wouldn't result to make a border among them.
I know, it's not like a big matter to be seen if you're close enough. However, it is about me! My own existence that an accidentally disclosed with Isabella.
I don't have any thoughts about it. Not at least in a negative manner, I just feel like we should be careful. Who knows, maybe there's an ability in this world that makes it too easy to wiretap people's conversation. I can't manage to risk that. I still have to study this world.
Slowly by slowly, I get accustomed to this world's rules. Abilities are all over the place but there are categorizations among them. I can understand it, but not until I made it into the temple where knowledge about runes is hidden. They monopolize it that even the gods haven't given me enough information about it.
It really is possible to stumble with gods in this world. I find it strange at the beginning but it might be possible really. Entities, at least in this world have something called 'Godhood', where beings can go to trial to face gods.
But that gods are just another entity in this world. They don't belong to any religion back on Earth.
"Now, now. I want to continue with my words. Please Marvela, activate the spell."
Did I just heard, spell? So the assistant at her back was a mage rune owner? Amazing, I find it amusing as I observe the assistant's face. She isn't having difficulties in controlling her stamina to activate her rune.
"Bring us to the room."
Hearing those phrases may be odd, and totally surprising. However, Amber's expression seems to be constant as the environment started to change in a wide white room.
The before wide grandiose dining room with chandelier and maids waiting at the back began to became a steady white enormous room as the rune of the assistant glowed. Is this spatial magic that I just saw earlier too?
"I want to tell you the story, why we need to kill my beloved husband, Hubert."
