I Have A Martial Arts Panel

Chapter 68 - Wei Changqings Family

Chapter 68: Wei Changqing’s Family

“Binglin, Zicheng, how did you guys get into Kangyun County?”

Wei Changqing spoke to the two of them with a friendly tone.

Although he originally left his family to escape from some headaches, Wei Changqing watched these two kids grow up, and was thus pleased to see them.

“Uncle, you left Yunying City for so long, and never came back to see us. So, we decided to come to you instead!”

The young girl was the one talking. She was wearing purple make-up, and her hair was tied with a headband. She looked quite audacious.

“Yeah, Uncle, Zicheng is right. If you don’t come visit us, we will have to come visit you!”

Wei Binglin was tall and skinny. Coupled with sharp eyebrows and starry eyes, he looked quite handsome and mighty.

“You two…”

Wei Changqing looked at the two and smiled.

Wei Changqing was now over 40 years old, but he was still unmarried.

Even though that was the case, Wei Binglin and Wei Zicheng had filled in many blanks in his life.

“Come sit.”

Wei Changqing quickly made them sit down and personally brewed tea for them.

“Tell me, why have you come to Kangyun County?”

Wei Changqing asked the same question.

Wei Zicheng grabbed the tea that Wei Changqing had brewed and took a sip. “We already said it—we came to visit you.”

“Come on, be honest.”

Wei Changqing shook his head. He clearly knew these two well. “If you really came to visit me, you would have written me a letter first. You guys obviously were afraid to tell me in advance.”

Wei Zicheng and Wei Binglin looked at each other. There was an awkward smile on their faces.

Obviously, they could not fool their uncle.

“All right…”

Seeing that Wei Changqing saw through their nonsense, Wei Binglin said, “Truthfully, visiting you is only one of the reasons. The other reason is to help Zicheng relax.”

“Relax? Zicheng, why do you need to relax?”

Wei Changqing looked at Wei Zicheng.

Wei Zicheng showed a helpless expression. “My father recently arranged for me to contact Wen Renjin, which made me uncomfortable.”

“Wen Renjin?”

Wei Changqing thought for a moment. “Are you talking about the Source Faction genius?”

“Yes, him.”

Wei Zicheng responded, “I always feel like my father has ulterior motives.”

“Hmm…”

Wei Changqing nodded silently and said, “You are only 16 years old. Although you are old enough, your temperament is not suitable to be rushed into marriage. If I were home, I would definitely talk with my brother.”

“I wanted to avoid Dad and Wen Renjin, so Brother and I came here to find you.”

Wei Zicheng glanced at Wei Binglin. He then paused, before adding, “After all, my brother is tired from practicing martial arts, so he’s also here to relax and take a break.”

“Take a break?”

Wei Changqing’s eyebrows tightened. He looked at Wei Binglin. “Do you really need to take a break? Every time your father writes to me, he mentions that you are not practicing hard, and you’re lazy and complacent, completely wasting your talent.”

When Wei Binglin saw the attention was on himself, he had no choice but to scratch his head. “Uncle…”

“Enough.”

Wei Changqing’s face was stern. “I understand now, you two came here secretly! If your father knew about this, he would never allow you guys to come here!”

When Wei Changqing said this, the two teens looked at each other, before lowering their heads.

This scene reminded Wei Changqing of when he and his brother made mistakes when they were young.

Wei Changqing’s tone softened. “Okay, stop pretending. I’ll allow you guys to stay here for a while, but not for long, up to three months, no, two months, then you have to go back.”

“Okay, Uncle.”

The two raised their heads at the same time with a smile on their face.

They could stay here for a few months, and worry about their troubles later.

“By the way, the road here from Yunying City is not safe. How many guards did you bring along?”

Wei Changqing asked.

“Four guards, two mortal realm seventh stage and two mortal realm eight stage.”

Wei Binglin responded.

“A bit too weak.”

Wei Changqing still felt like the two were taking too many risks. There was not an official road path from Yunying City to Kangyun County, so they had to cross many mountains and valleys.

Forget about the horse bandits, even the demon beasts along the way could easily defeat their squadron.

After weighing his options for a while, Wei Changqing said, “When you guys return, I’ll come with you.”

“Uncle, you are coming home?”

Wei Zicheng and Wei Binglin were both surprised.

“It’s been a while since I left, so I should go back and visit.”

Wei Changqing sighed. “Of course, I have to wait until I finish my official duties here.”

“And…” Wei Changqing seemed to think of something suddenly, “after you rest here for two days, go visit Senior Liu.”

“Senior Liu?”

Wei Binglin asked, “Uncle, are you talking about Senior Liu Yijian?”

“Yes, him.”

Wei Changqing nodded: “He and your grandfather are old friends, but he’s now isolated from the world, living in Yunze Mountains near Kangyun County.”

“Where is Yunze Mountains located?”

Wei Zicheng asked.

“Not far from here.” Wei Changqing said, “In a few days, I will arrange for someone to take you there.”

“Okay.”

The two nodded at the same time.

Two days have passed.

Maple Lane Guard Station.

The assassin and Nie Xiaowei, who had been locked up in the guard station, were both taken away by Qu Dayou himself.

When Qu Dayou came here and saw Xu Ning, he highly praised Xu Ning.

Xu Ning’s work had relieved pressure from several senior members of the Black Armored Guards, and left a direct impact in the Magic Faction investigation.

Xu Ning was also relieved after the captives were taken away.

But despite this, Xu Ning felt an inexplicable sense of danger in his heart.

It was as if there was a net that was coming down on Kangyun County.

Xu Ning finished reading today’s internal report in his study.

There was still no news about the Magic Faction.

He wondered if the interrogations went poorly, or that the results were kept secret.

‘I’m still too weak…’

Xu Ning believed that this was the root cause of his sense of danger.

After reaching the qi realm, Xu Ning felt that he had gained more confidence.

Coupled with the monthly bonus of being a lieutenant, Xu Ning felt that he had plenty of resources, and it was only a matter of time before he would advance again.

But something was slowly changing his mindset.

‘I wonder if there is a way to get more resources…’

Xu Ning pondered.

Suddenly, Feng Sigua knocked on the door and came in.

“Master, there are two people outside who want to see you.” Feng Sigua said, “They are holding Master Wei’s paiza.”

“Commander Wei’s paiza?”

Xu Ning was a little confused, but he didn’t hesitate too much. “Let them in.”

“Yes.”

Feng Sigua went outside.

Soon, he led the two people in.

It was Wei Binglin and Wei Zicheng.

Xu Ning looked surprised when he saw the two of them.

He could instantly tell that these two had extraordinary backgrounds.

They had a similar energy to Wei Changqing.

“You two are?”

Xu Ning greeted them with cupped fists.

“Are you Brother Xu?”

Wei Binglin did not speak arrogantly. He was rather polite.

“I’m Xu Ning.”

Xu Ning replied.

“I’m Wei Binglin.”

“Wei Zicheng.”

The two introduced themselves.

‘Last name Wei?’

Xu Ning concluded that these two came from Wei Changqing’s home soil.

“We are from Yunying City, and Wei Changqing is my uncle.”

Wei Zicheng said to Xu Ning.

“Nice to meet you .”

Xu Ning was also very polite.

He had a good first impression of the two.

Xu Ning had heard from Qu Dayou that Wei Changqing came from Yunying City.

Even though these two young people were from a powerful family, they still spoke humbly to Xu Ning, giving him a good impression.

“Brother Xu, I came to see you because we need a favor.”

Wei Binglin went straight to the point. “We would like to invite you to take us to the depths of Yunze Mountains.”
