I Have Infinite Attributes

Chapter 3

C3 – Attack

“You’re trying to trick me into telling the truth?”

Zhou Leng snapped back to reality, glaring at Zhou Jibo with fury in his voice.

Zhou Jibo offered a slight smile and said, “The Great Elder himself declared that only a fool would pay twenty taels of silver for Element Gathering Powder. It appears you’re that fool.”

The Great Elder, Zhou Qian, looked displeased, and his supporters wore similarly sour expressions.

Zhou Leng recalled Zhou Jibo’s previous disregard for him and how Zhou Jibo had just attempted to coax the truth out of him. Embarrassment mixed with rising anger within him.

“Zhou Jibo, I’m going to kill you!”

Zhou Leng bellowed, unleashing his Gravel Palm technique as he lunged at Zhou Jibo.

Zhou Jibo merely glanced up, seeing Zhou Leng’s effort as nothing more than a child’s feeble attempt to strike. It was laughable.

With a simple raise of his hand, Zhou Jibo effortlessly slipped through the missed gap in Zhou Leng’s palm, seizing his arm and twisting it behind his back.

To the onlookers, it was as if Zhou Leng’s palm strike was child’s play for Zhou Jibo, who nonchalantly navigated through the attack and subdued Zhou Leng with ease.

Was this the might of an Earth Spirit with a low-grade bone root? Zhou Jibo, only a notch below Zhou Leng at the fourth layer of Acquired, had been so easily overpowered?

Zhou Kaile, the Great Elder, and the rest watched in astonishment.

The Elders’ stares were even more penetrating, as they discerned a deeper issue: with that single move, Zhou Jibo’s Gravel Palm technique was at least on par with the fourth layer, if not verging on the fifth layer of the Acquired Stage!

Only with such skill could Zhou Jibo flawlessly navigate the most precise gap and exploit Zhou Leng’s vulnerability, capturing him in an instant!

Zhou Jibo’s aptitude for learning martial skills was frighteningly impressive.

The hearts of the two Elders, previously aligned with the Great Elder, wavered. Weighing the potential of the next generation, Zhou Leng’s swift defeat suggested that Zhou Jibo’s prospects were far more promising.

“Release me!”

Zhou Leng’s arm was firmly grasped by Zhou Jibo, who shouted in anger.

“At this point, it’s time for the truth,” Zhou Jibo stated. “How did you plan to set up the evidence and witnesses?”

Zhou Leng turned to face him, his voice rising in fury, “I said, let go!”

“Forget it! I won’t retract my statement. You’re nothing but a thief who stole my Element Gathering Powder!”

“Your reputation is destroyed! Once the Zheng family hears of this, especially Zheng Xunqin, your beloved, any hopes for marriage will be dashed!”

“To be perfectly honest, Zheng Xunqin doesn’t mean that much to me,” Zhou Jibo spoke with a dismissive tone. “I’ll simply have to clarify a few matters with her in the future.”

“And as for you…”

Zhou Jibo’s eyes grew icy as he spoke, and with a sudden surge of strength in his palm, a sharp crack echoed.

Zhou Leng hit the ground, his scream piercing the air as his arm twisted unnaturally behind him.

“You accuse me, you sabotage me—did you think there would be no consequences?”

Zhou Jibo’s voice was a cold blade.

“You vile creature! How dare you harm Zhou Leng!”

The Great Elder, Zhou Qian, witnessed Zhou Leng’s injury and bellowed in rage, leaping towards Zhou Jibo. His palm sliced through the air, unleashing the Gravel Palm technique directly at Zhou Jibo!

The attack came without warning, catching Zhou Kaile off guard, his face draining of color. He sprang to intervene but was intercepted by the Third Elder.

“How dare you!” Zhou Kaile’s anger was palpable as he lashed out at the Third Elder. “Out of my way!”

But the moment’s hesitation was all Zhou Qian needed to close in on Zhou Jibo.

Zhou Qian’s ninth layer Acquired Realm strength, combined with decades of mastering the fifth layer of Gravel Palm, could pulverize a stone to gravel.

His loathing for Zhou Jibo was bone-deep; he aimed to end Zhou Jibo’s life with a single blow!

However, Zhou Jibo saw Zhou Qian’s swift approach with clarity. To him, the fifth layer of Gravel Palm was no match for his own Mountain Suppressing Palm—a sixth layer, low-grade Profound Rank martial skill that made the difference between babbling and walking.

In terms of explosive power, technical complexity, or the depth of martial arts, there was no comparison between the rudimentary Gravel Palm and the Profound Rank’s low-grade Mountain Suppressing Palm.

In Zhou Qian’s gaze, as his palm was about to strike Zhou Jibo, there was no reaction from Jibo. It was as if he couldn’t even muster the speed to evade.

Had Zhou Jibo resigned himself to his fate? Was he ready to accept death?

Zhou Kaile watched the scene unfold with rising fury, unable to contain himself, he bellowed, “Zhou Jibo, strike now!”

Zhou Leng glared at Zhou Jibo, a smug gleam in his eyes.

But in the blink of an eye, Zhou Kaile was dumbfounded, Zhou Leng was taken aback, and the faces of the Third Elder, Fourth Elder, and the three other Elders were frozen in shock.

They witnessed Zhou Jibo nimbly sidestep the edge of Zhou Qian’s Gravel Palm, pivoting to deliver a palm strike of his own.

“How could you possibly evade my attack?”

Zhou Qian, who had painstakingly honed his Gravel Palm to the fifth layer’s peak, couldn’t fathom how a warrior under twenty, at the fifth layer of Acquired strength, could dodge his blow.

Incredulous, Zhou Qian cried out as he met Zhou Jibo’s seemingly effortless palm. Their palms collided in a flash.

“Mountain Suppression!”

Zhou Jibo spoke calmly, his figure shifting subtly as he stepped back.

Zhou Qian, rooted in the hall of the ancestor temple, found himself involuntarily retreating a step as well.

This time, the two were evenly matched.

“This can’t be!” Zhou Qian’s face contorted with disbelief as he glared at Zhou Jibo. “It’s impossible! We’re both using Gravel Palm. How could you withstand my technique? I am a ninth layer Acquired Warrior!”

Zhou Jibo chuckled, “Curious, aren’t you? Too bad, I have no intention of explaining.”

As Zhou Qian bristled for another outburst, his heart sank. The standoff between him and Zhou Jibo had shifted the dynamics within the Zhou family’s Ancestor Temple.

The two Elders who had initially chosen to sit on the left, signaling their support for him, now joined another Elder, positioning themselves closer to the Patriarch, Zhou Kaile.

They had reconsidered their stance. Now, only three individuals stood by Zhou Kaile, with his remaining supporters being merely the Third and Fourth Elders. The Great Elder’s faction had lost its absolute edge and was currently on the back foot.

The catalyst for this upheaval was none other than Zhou Jibo, the protagonist of today’s unfortunate scheme.

They had come prepared with both physical evidence and witnesses, yet who could have predicted that he wouldn’t seek to clear his name in the usual manner? Instead, he showcased a level of strength that was nothing short of astonishing.

Not even Zhou Qian could best him.

At such a young age, Zhou Jibo had already shown immense potential. His prospects in the martial arts world were promising, which explained why the two seasoned Elders swiftly shifted their loyalty to the Clan Leader.

I must eliminate Zhou Jibo without delay.

Darkness and a deadly resolve filled the Great Elder’s eyes. He recognized that today’s tide had turned, and the opportunity to eliminate Zhou Jibo had slipped through his fingers.

Without a word, he assisted his son to his feet and, alongside the Third and Fourth Elders, began to exit the grand hall.

It was then that a taunting voice echoed from behind.

“You’ve slandered me, and now you think you can just walk away?”

“What do you propose?” the Great Elder asked, his voice heavy with gravity.

“Turn back and bow before the Clan Leader. Admit to him that you were wrong, that you’ve wronged me,” Zhou Jibo stated calmly, his voice carrying an unwavering certainty.
