Chapter 211: Wounded Gods
Chapter 211: Wounded Gods
The girl in the white priest robe was terrified by Felix. She couldn't stop her eyes from looking directly at his forehead, where the tattoo was located, her eyes were trembling as she tried to take a few steps away from him, but her wrist was in his grip, and she couldn't do anything about that:
"You... you murderer!"
She gathered all of her courage to say that. She was quite close to Sindora during the war as they both support gods, so they became friends on the battlefield even though they usually didn't talk to each other.
Her eyes were full of fire, but her body was shaking, showing that while she was scared of Felix, she was still ready to fight him to the death.
Felix coughed as he increased his grip strength and said:
"Who put this tattoo on me?"
The girl zipped her lips as she glared at him and afterward said through gritted teeth as Felix continuously increased the pressure he was applying to her wrist:
"I will never sell my fellow Gods. They only marked you because you have murdered Sindora for no reason!"
Felix snorted as he looked into her eyes and said:
"No reason, eh?"
The goddess frowned as she looked into Felix's eyes involuntarily. She realized that his eyes were filled with pity for her and the other gods the moment she did so. But why would a mortal pity them? Did he really think that he was so strong that he could fight against a bunch of gods by himself?
She started to get angry at him. She had the pride of a goddess down to her bones. Even though she was a support god, which wasn't strong in combat.
She tried to remove his grip on her wrist by force as she unleashed her hex energy around her, creating a barrier that would try to cut Felix's arm off.
However, the barrier just bounced off Felix's body as if it was a harmless beach ball. Not a deadly attack that was conjured by a goddess with the strength to destroy planets.
She paled as the energy in her body was sapped by her returning fear. That was her strongest attack which could combine defense and offense into one.
"I... I...."
While she was angry at Felix, she was also very scared at the same time. She also didn't want to give out the details of the other gods to Felix because they were still wounded from the war, and Felix might be able to assassinate them!
From what strength he exuded, the girl realized that the weakened gods could fall prey to his claws.
"I won't ever sell them to you!"
She said with conviction as she closed her eyes and waited for Felix to deal her the death blow.
As she waited, sweat dripped down from her forehead, tears started to slide from her eyes to her face... she wasn't ready to die yet.
But as she waited, she realized that Felix had let go of her wrist.
She opened her eyes to see Felix looking at her and shaking his head as he said:
"I didn't come here to kill you all. That's only the worst scenario that can happen. Why don't you listen to what I have to say first?"
Seeing Felix's attitude towards her made the girl both warry and puzzled. She wasn't someone who could trust mortals but Felix's words, and the way he said them, made her lower her guard.
She wasn't sure if this was Felix's plan to coerce her as he realized that lording his strength over her wouldn't work, so she still kept mum.
"Come on, girlie. I just want this tattoo off my forehead. It brought me a bit of trouble down there."
She frowned at Felix's way of addressing her as she glanced in his direction and said:
"My name is Biuga, not girlie!"
Felix scratched the back of his head as he laughed awkwardly and said:
"Ok, ok, Biuga, I'm sorry."
Seeing Felix being so casual with her made Biuga let her tightened guard down a bit as she sighed and said:
"I guess I can listen to you. Please do tell me why did you kill poor Sindora?"
Felix looked into her eyes as he said:
"I believe that Sindora hadn't really shown her true colors to you guys, so even If I tell you the truth, would you believe it?"
At this point, Biuga frowned. Was Sindora really the bad woman that Felix made her be?
Indeed, they didn't know her much, if at all, but in the end, she did use her energy to wake her up to heal the wounded God warriors so they wouldn't die, so she seemed to be a good person in her view, and she didn't really want to hear any slander from Felix... but she also said that she would listen to what he had to say, so she couldn't dismiss what he said immediately as lies.
"I will listen to you... tell me, why have you killed her?"
Felix's eyes hardened as they gazed directly into Biuga's, and he said:
"She had threatened my close family with death if I didn't give her my power just like I did to Aaltarox."
Her eyes widened as her gaze changed when she looked at him:
"You are the one who gave Aaltarox the energy?!"
Aaltarox wouldn't have been able to push back the invasion if he didn't get the energy from Felix, so Felix was also the big variable that won them the war... if the others knew, she was sure that they would forgive him for killing Sindora, after all, Sindora's contribution was almost inexistent compared to Felix's, as they would have all died if Aaltarox didn't step up with Felix's help.
She approached Felix and gave him a small bow as she said:
"I thank you for the timely help... and I'm sorry about Aaltarox's death."
Felix waved his hand indicating that it was okay as he said:
"I'm also sorry about Aaltarox, but he wanted to give his all to protect this place, so I'm sure he is content wherever he is now."
Biuga sighed as she remembered Aaltarox then she said:
"I guess I can help you to the place. I was going back just now before you rudely interrupted me."
Felix nodded and waited for her to open the spatial door, which happened in around 10 seconds, and the duo entered the gate together.
As Felix looked at his changed surroundings, he could see golden trees going straight up into the blue skies. And in front of him stood a giant bronze temple with beds that contained the wounded Gods who were resting in different positions.
The moment they saw Biuga returning, they wanted to wave at her in greeting, but when they saw Felix who had the fire lotus tattoo on his forehead, they jumped up from their beds as they entered fighting stances and took out their weapons from their spatial pockets.
However, Biuga jumped in front of Felix as she said:
"Guys! It was a misunderstanding in the middle! Put your weapons down!"
A tall god with an eyepatch who had nothing on his upper body and a blue iron skirt on his lower body glared at Felix with his lone eye and then looked at Biuga and said:
"I think he might have brainwashed you, little Biuga, get away from him! Minzuro would never mark a person that didn't deserve it!"
Biuga shook her head as she said:
"This guy is the person that gave Aaltarox the energy. He is the reason we won the war!"
All of the wounded God's eyes widened in surprise as they looked at Felix once again. The man with the eyepatch increased his visual acuity in one eye as he looked through Felix's body. Felix let him as he flared a bit of his aura, which the man caught and he said to the others:
"It's true, I recognize the aura, it was this one that Aaltarox was pumped with during the war."
The others let their weapons return to their spatial pocket as they glanced at Felix and one of them asked:
"But why had he killed Sindora?"
The others nodded at each other as they glanced at Felix, while his contribution could cancel his crime, the Gods still wanted to know why Sindora had to die. After all, the fall of a god was a very big thing.
Felix sighed as he told them the truth. If they were to believe him or not was up to them.
"Hmm? You really said that Sindora wanted to use this opportunity when we were wounded to become the ultimate Goddess?"
The others frowned:
"Then why would she even wake the healers up with her energy. She could have just killed us then and there and became the ultimate goddess that way."
Felix laughed as he looked at them and said:
"Even if she became the ultimate goddess. She was a very vain person, so what she would do without any servants?"
The eyepatched buff god looked at Felix up and down and said:
"I can't say much about Sindora, but yeah, she was a very vain person. Maybe he isn't lying to us guys."
The others started to whisper among themselves, but suddenly the sky started to crack as a person started to slowly float, gentle light and the song of angels followed down below with him as his billowing white garments were reaching the ground.
His baby blue eyes were peaceful as he was caressing his brown beard while looking at Felix's fire lotus tattoo, he nodded and the tattoo disappeared as he said:
"I'm sorry for the troubles I have given you, friend Felix."
Felix touched his forehead as he looked at the strongest God, Minzuro. He thought that he would have to fight to the death to get rid of his tattoo, but it was this easy in the end.
