Chapter 48: The Guild Competition starts
Chapter 48: The Guild Competition starts
"I lost my phone."
"I will buy you one if you do well in this guild competition."
"No, no, no! It's alright! I will go to my part-time job and work for it! I will..."
"Isn't your birthday one day before mine? Consider it a present."
"Eh? How do you know about my birthday?"
"Aren't you the one who told me about it? Guess what? The Hero has run out of topics to talk about."
"I haven't!"
The Hero and The Pyromaniac talked while a huge gathering went on before them.
As the guild leader, Maya was the center of attention. Many people saw the good relationship with the pyromaniac, but most feared his legendary skill, The Red Sky!
Players that knew Maya from real-life giggled, looking at the flustered and non-stop waving her hands Cute Bear.
The rest wondered how far the combination of the hero and pyromaniac would reach.
Of course, Maya's guild wasn't the only one here.
Brand and his son's guild had also made an appearance.
These two guided the army of strong players, and from the naked eye, Reylin saw the difference between them and The Hero Party Guild.
Those players were united by the contracts.
The contracts signed in real life, and the one that provided them real money.
The cash exchange was already in the game, but no player could exchange it for massive money. Such transactions were impossible due to various factors, so Brand's early move united many players.
They all had fixed incomes, and Brand emphasized teamwork.
Reylin and Brand's eyes met, and palpable enmity unfurled before them.
Only Maya saw it, however. It lasted for a few seconds because Brand didn't want to reveal a little contact with Reylin.
Besides, Reylin's father had pulled some strings behind the scenes, and people such as Brand wouldn't easily reveal Reylin's background.
It was different for peers and people around Reylin's age since they were left clueless about that.
Thus, Brand's son didn't hide anything.
He was around Reylin's age, and his tall posture and longbow on his back seemed in harmony. He carried himself with a dignified air, and his skills also represented pride and precision.
His green eyes stared at Reylin, and within those, a will to fight shone!
That will heightened, and it became pretty unbearable. He wanted to throw himself into the ant colony and top over everyone!
[Lares Lv. 34 HP: ??? MP: ???]
[Guild: The Royal Lineage Guild]
"He's too eager to have his face blasted by my flames," Reylin chuckled while looking at him.
At last, Lares' eyes shifted to the side, and he moved toward their point of gathering. He didn't forget to look at Maya and all other competitors that would become his enemies soon.
Ferocious Bear pulled Reylin's sleeve, "What have you done to them? They looked terrifying... Like snakes?"
"Snakes? That comparison suits them. I didn't do anything, though," Reylin widely smiled.
"Lies," Maya crossed her arms and didn't believe him.
She turned heels and went to speak with the core teammates. A few guild members were also promoted, and Maya's friend did the management work! They became much better and certainly a bigger guild.
For Reylin, it didn't matter much.
He was more surprised to see how naturally Maya acted around everyone. She even talked about the lost phone to him, which was one of the items related to that disgusting day. Inwardly, it relieved him more than Reylin had expected.
He turned his eyes to another player coming his way.
"Hi! I am honored to be a part of such a big event! So many monsters to deal with!" Steel Melody approached Reylin fearlessly, and she talked with him casually.
Reylin flicked his finger and sent a small fireball onto her armor that brought out that steel melody, "Join the guild first."
"Yes!" Steel Melody giggled and joined the guild.
She added, "I am glad to be part of your team. You have such strong flames that the boss will come out on its own to hunt you! We will shine together!"
Steel Melody struck her heavy armor a few times and declared!
Reylin rolled his eyes, "It's about quantity this time. The kingdoms want resources, but so do the players. The ants will drop many items as well since that's how the world works. This is where the kingdoms will keep close eyes.
If you wholeheartedly pass everything you've received, you will gain the most trust from the residents. If you keep some items, then well, obvious. And if you keep all the best stuff to yourself, I guess the guild's rank will fall in their hearts."
"Oh... Well, I don't care! My equipment is pretty good for my level, and I have checked the stats on the forum. I can keep going with this for ten levels more!" Steel Melody carelessly said.
"You have to think about money to repair your items and buy adequate to your level equipment in the future," Reylin shook his head.
Steel Melody shrugged, "I don't know what tomorrow will look like. Future? That's for later!"
"Sweet... Sweet Melody, indeed. Many would-be jealous of your carefree personality," Reylin ended up laughing, then the third guild formed their circle.
Reylin looked at their guild name.
[Taste the onion.]
"At last, we have a normal guild leader," Reylin commented.
Steel Melody didn't spare him, either, "Are you looking out for normal players? No one can balance out our party, you know?"
"Normies can't deal with me," Reylin agreed with her, "But if there are no normies, who will be in the crowd? They give the best reactions."
"I agree! I remember the group of players holding their heads when I threw myself at wolves with a wooden shield! I had a quest for the steel one, and I was quite impatient! Haha!" Steel Melody's stories were always quite amusing.
She added, "The Red Sky! Oh..."
"Oh, indeed. Also, I have been meeting pretty crazy people lately. If not them, then their backgrounds are outstanding. We need normies in our lives... I understood it lately." Reylin spoke some big words, bobbing his head up and down.
And as usual, "I don't understand." Steel Melody said.
She also asked, "How is that guild's leader normal, though? Taste the onion? Why is this name so normal? It sounds weird."
"Exactly, that's why. It sounds so troll, doesn't it?" Reylin chuckled, "That's the normal player."
"Troll? So their guild leader has a big nose?" Steel Melody tilted her head and asked.
"Huh?"
"Huh?"
