Chapter 1339: Unexpected Opportunity
Chapter 1339: Unexpected Opportunity
Walking through the dense forest, Yuga silently activated the energy of Celebi's blessing within his body. At that moment, he seemed to merge entirely with the forest.
N, trailing behind him, looked at Yuga in astonishment. It felt as though the person before him might turn into a tree, a blade of grass, or perhaps vanish altogether.
A faint green glow began to radiate from Yuga's body. Soon, it seemed as though the forest itself was responding to him. The trees swayed gently, their leaves rustling in a harmonious rhythm.
Over the years, with continuous practice, Yuga's special abilities had grown immensely stronger. He softly called out to Celebi in his heart but received no response.
However, Yuga remained calm. He took Florges's hand and exchanged a glance with her. Understanding his intent, Florges closed her eyes alongside him.
This was why Yuga had released Florges earlier. He knew that his own level of Celebi's blessing was relatively low and might not be sufficient. With Florges's help, it would be a different story.
Soon, a green glow also began emanating from Florges, but it was far more intense and dazzling than Yuga's.
With Florges's participation, the forest's reaction grew stronger. N felt as though a gentle breeze had arisen, carrying a thick, invigorating vitality through the air.
Shaa... shaa...
All the plants in the forest began to sway, as though celebrating something.
At that moment, the green light from Yuga and Florges seemed to merge. Together, the human and the Pokémon lost awareness of the outside world, entering a strange state of enlightenment.
Neither Yuga nor Florges had anticipated this situation. Their sole intention had been to summon Celebi.
As their energies intertwined, it seemed that every plant in the forest had received some sort of signal. Tiny, firefly-like green lights began to float from the plants, converging on Yuga and Florges.
The Guli Mountain Range was vast, its flora immeasurable. Countless green lights gathered, forming a torrent of energy that enveloped Yuga and Florges.
Although disconnected from their surroundings, Yuga and Florges could distinctly feel a peculiar bond forming between them.
It was an indescribable sensation. Florges felt as though she had become human, while Yuga felt as if he had turned into a Pokémon—a Grass-type Pokémon, no less.
After integrating with the natural energy gifted by the forest, a green circle of light appeared beneath Yuga and Florges. The circle expanded rapidly, spreading across the entire forest in the blink of an eye.
Wherever the green light passed, plants seemed to revive as if they had consumed an elixir of life. Even trees that had been on the verge of withering sprang back to life, radiating vitality.
A reciprocal relationship of giving and receiving formed between the forest and Yuga, along with Florges.
N was utterly stunned by the overwhelming scene unfolding before him. He simply could not comprehend what Yuga was doing.
It wasn't just N who was dumbfounded; even Nana, who had been released alongside them, was equally shocked.
Weren't they supposed to be summoning Celebi? What on earth were these two up to?
Despite her surprise and confusion, Nana could clearly sense that something extraordinary had occurred between Yuga and Florges. It seemed as though the two had undergone a profound transformation and were no longer just Trainer and Pokémon. They had become a unified entity, transcending their previous relationship.
Meanwhile, deep within the Guli Mountain Range, inside a hollow tree, Celebi lay fast asleep. Suddenly, a burst of green light swept through the area, and the hollow instantly bloomed with fresh grass and vibrant flowers.
Startled awake, Celebi rubbed its eyes and looked around in confusion before closing its eyes to sense its surroundings.
After a brief moment of contemplation, Celebi opened its eyes, and with a flash of its small body, it vanished from the tree hollow.
The strange, enlightening state that Yuga and Florges were experiencing seemed to stretch on for an indeterminate amount of time. Then, all of a sudden, Nana appeared to sense something. Her eyes lit up with an unusual brightness.
The next moment, a series of mystical echoes resonated throughout the forest, as if someone were softly singing. Following this, Celebi appeared above Yuga and Florges.
Celebi gazed curiously at the two. It recognized them, of course—this human and this Pokémon—but their current state was something entirely unfamiliar.
After a moment of deliberation, Celebi conjured a glowing green orb from its body. With a wave of its tiny hand, the orb drifted into the torrent of energy surrounding Yuga and Florges.
The moment Celebi released the green orb, its own vitality seemed to wane, and it appeared visibly weakened.
"Gardevoir~"
At that moment, Nana spoke up. Unlike her usual method of communicating with Yuga through telepathy, she now used the purest form of Pokémon language to call out to Celebi.
Hearing the voice, Celebi turned to look at Nana. After a brief pause, it seemed to sense something and flew over to her, its expression filled with curiosity.
This Celebi didn't recognize Nana.
The Celebi before them was not the same one that had once sent Yuga back to the Arus Empire. That Celebi had known Nana; this one did not.
Yuga had encountered two different Celebi in his life.
The first was the ancient and mysterious Celebi that had granted him the seed of its blessing back when his special abilities had yet to awaken. It was this Celebi that had sent Yuga to the past in Arus.
The second Celebi was the one revered by Mr. Kuni'o's lineage—a guardian deity of all the forests in the Hoenn region.
The first Celebi had planted the seed of Yuga's special abilities, while the second had nurtured it to grow.
The Celebi standing before them now was the latter.
The moment Celebi appeared, N was dumbfounded. Why on earth had the mythical Pokémon Celebi shown up?
Nana chirped and babbled something to Celebi, but no one could tell what it was saying. Celebi, meanwhile, bit its little finger hesitantly, its face full of doubt.
Seeing this, Nana babbled some more. This time, Celebi seemed to be persuaded. Slowly, a deep purple orb of light floated out from within Celebi's body, much like the one it had just sent toward Yuga and Florges.
As Celebi handed the purple orb to Nana, its face was one of utter heartbreak.
It was truly pitiful—losing not just a portion of its Grass-type essence earlier but now parting with its Psychic-type essence as well. Who knew how long it would take for Celebi to replenish what it had lost?
Nana joyfully accepted the purple orb and slowly brought it toward its chest. In the next moment, the orb was absorbed into Nana's body. Nôv(el)B\\jnn
Although Nana's soul was linked to Celebi and carried a portion of Celebi's talents, its physical body was just that of an ordinary Pokémon, lacking a solid foundation.
Nana had already made plans to use Celebi's essence to improve its body further. That was also why it insisted on accompanying Yuga to meet Celebi.
Unfortunately, Nana's body no longer possessed the Grass-type attribute and couldn't fully inherit Celebi's abilities. Thus, it had to settle for enhancing its Psychic-type powers alone.
Even if Nana had wanted to strengthen both attributes, it was now impossible. After splitting off part of its Grass-type essence for Yuga and Florges, Celebi had already reached its limit and had no more to give.
With this Psychic-type essence in hand, Nana was thrilled. It knew that with proper use, its strength would significantly increase. Reaching the level of Aerodactyl was only a matter of time.
But while Nana was revitalized with the newfound power, Celebi looked weak and exhausted. It wobbled mid-air, almost falling. Luckily, Nana reacted quickly, catching Celebi and cradling it in its arms.
As Nana gazed at the weakened Celebi, a sense of guilt crept into its heart.
After what seemed like ages, the swirling green energy surrounding Yuga and Florges finally dissipated, revealing the two of them once again.
Yuga opened his eyes as his awareness and senses came flooding back. His entire body felt full, as if something had filled him to the brim. Yet, the sensation was immensely pleasant, making him almost want to groan.
Florges's experience was even more pronounced. It felt as though it had grown much stronger all at once. Additionally, when it looked at Yuga, it felt a newfound closeness, as though the bond between them had deepened, their hearts now in perfect harmony.
Sensing this, Yuga looked back at Florges, sharing the same realization.
Slowly, Yuga stretched out his palm. A green energy soon manifested in his hand, a sign of his special ability.
How had his power suddenly increased so dramatically?
Yuga stared at his palm in disbelief, stunned by the changes within himself.
If the power level of Mr. Kuni'o's abilities was a ten, Yuga's previous level had only been around three. Now, it had surged to at least seven or eight—a truly explosive growth.
He turned to look at Florges. Its Legendary Aura was now so intense that, at a glance, it could easily be mistaken for a real Legendary Pokémon.
"Hey!"
Nana's voice broke Yuga's train of thought, snapping him back to reality. He then noticed Celebi in Nana's arms.
"Celebi really came!" Yuga exclaimed in delight. He had been so disconnected from the outside world earlier that he hadn't sensed Celebi's arrival.
But why did Celebi look so weak?
"What happened just now? Why all the commotion?" Nana asked as it approached Yuga, still holding Celebi in its arms.
"I don't know either!" Yuga admitted, thoroughly puzzled. He turned to Florges and asked, "What happened just now?"
But Florges was just as clueless as Yuga, shaking its head in response.
"What's wrong with Celebi? Why does it look so weak?" Yuga asked Nana, concern evident in his voice.
At Yuga's question, Nana grew a little guilty. After all, it was because of its insistence on borrowing a portion of Celebi's essence that Celebi was now so weakened. Although Celebi wasn't in any real danger, it would certainly remain frail for a long while.
"It's... it's all because of you two!" Nana instinctively started shifting the blame. "It's all because of helping you two that Celebi became so weak!"
To be fair, it wasn't entirely a lie. Celebi had indeed given part of its Grass-type origin energy to Yuga and Florges. Nana silently justified itself in its heart.
⊙(◇)? Celebi, nestled in Nana's arms, was full of question marks upon hearing Nana's words. The pure-hearted Celebi had no idea what it meant to shift the blame.
But N wasn't as naïve. He had observed everything unfold but chose not to speak up.
Yuga and Florges, on the other hand, didn't suspect Nana's words. Instead, they wore expressions of sudden realization, thinking: No wonder. I was wondering how I suddenly got so much stronger—it turns out it was thanks to Celebi.
"Celebi, thank you so much," Yuga said sincerely, looking at Celebi with gratitude. Florges also followed with a word of thanks.
Celebi nodded slightly, acknowledging Yuga and Florges's gratitude.
Their thanks weren't misplaced. Without the portion of Grass-type origin energy that Celebi contributed, neither Yuga nor Florges would have been able to absorb the massive energy granted by the forest.
After expressing his gratitude, Yuga didn't forget the primary reason they had called upon Celebi. He turned to ask, "Celebi, can we ask you some questions?"
N finally understood why Yuga had summoned Celebi—it was the perfect way to directly uncover what was happening in the forest. What could be more convenient or straightforward than consulting the Forest Guardian itself?
"Celebi~"
Ask away.
Yuga organized his thoughts and asked, "Do you know anything about Regirock, Regice, and Registeel? It seems like the three of them have gone missing recently."
"Celebi~?"
Hearing Yuga's question, Celebi was taken aback. It hadn't been paying attention to the three Legendary Titans and wasn't aware of their disappearance.
After Regigigas fell into slumber, the Three Legendary Titans had taken responsibility for maintaining the stability of the Guli Mountains. If something had happened to them, it wasn't a trivial matter.
"Celebi~"
Could they have gone to see Regigigas?
Yuga's heart skipped a beat upon hearing this. He had been planning to ask about Regigigas' whereabouts anyway.
"Do you know where Regigigas is? Something has happened in the Guli Mountains due to the Three Legendary Titans' disappearance. We'd like to ask them to help."
Celebi hesitated at Yuga's words. It did indeed know where Regigigas was, but it had also promised the colossal Pokémon not to reveal its location to anyone.
"What's wrong? Do you not know either? Or are you not allowed to say?"
"Celebi~"
Regigigas forbade me from telling anyone its location...
"I see... that does make it tricky." Yuga pondered for a moment before suggesting, "How about this—can you help us track down the Three Legendary Titans first?"
"Celebi~"
Celebi nodded. That wasn't a problem.
"Here, take this." Yuga handed Celebi a Max Revive.
While the Max Revive couldn't restore the origin energy Celebi had lost, it could alleviate its discomfort. After consuming the Max Revive, Celebi indeed felt less weak and regained some energy. It flew up again, expressing its thanks to Yuga.
"I'll leave the task of finding the Three Legendary Titans to you," Yuga said earnestly.
"Celebi~"
Leave it to me!
Celebi patted its chest confidently.
"I'll go with it," Nana interjected after some thought. With Celebi's combat strength significantly reduced due to its loss of origin energy, Nana wasn't comfortable letting it act alone.
"That's a good idea. Be careful, and if anything happens, come back to find me," Yuga agreed. After all, it was partially his fault that Celebi had ended up in such a weakened state.
"Got it."
With that, Nana and Celebi disappeared into the forest together.
