Immortal of the Ages

Chapter 782: Scouring Millions For One Man!

"W-what..!" Feng Yao instinctively thought that the coarse words Yun Xiao had spoken through the Mortal Dust Devil Seed were audible to others.

She jumped, her heartbeat racing, the Yin Devil traits manifesting, her skin flushing drunk-red in an instant. Especially her cheeks, rosy and steaming hot.

Fortunately, she looked around and, whether it was her master the Moon Lemon Valkyrie or her fellow disciples, none could hear Yun Xiao's vulgar words.

"Can't you be a bit more refined?" the War Princess said, exasperated.

He looked every part the heavenly Immortal, yet his words were ever so mundane.

Her seriousness stunned Yun Xiao, who said, "You know that Zhao Mengmeng and Lin Wan? Those two won't be looking down on men any longer!"

"Huh? Any longer? Does that mean you…!" Feng Yao's anger flared. "Y-you! Ugh! You really aren't picky with women, are you! All men are beasts!"

"I mean I killed them. What are you getting so angry about?" Yun Xiao asked with a laugh.

"I'm not angry…" Feng Yao quickly suppressed her anger, then asked, "It's all in the past, and yet you still pursue them for their lives?"

"It's not in the past; they planned to reveal that you might not be from the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm to the Ice and Sea Lineages," Yun Xiao said, chuckling.

"Oh…!" Feng Yao suddenly felt a chill.

Such was the merciless nature of jealousy.

"Learn from this. Fool me once, shame on you; don’t parade around like a devil princess, playing the naive sweetheart," Yun Xiao advised.

"You're the naive sweetheart." Feng Yao huffed, slightly indignant. "I was fierce long before you were born."

"And what could you do at one year old? Drink three tubs of milk in one go?" Yun Xiao quipped.

"Just shut it, hurry up and get out here, we're making too much of a show waiting for one slave." Feng Yao was tired of bickering. Though she found joy in the process, the setting demanded restraint.

"He’s here."

Soon, Yun Xiao’s true form stealthily emerged from the celestial palanquin, quietly approaching the War Princess.

Upon seeing him, Feng Yao glared fiercely and commanded authoritatively, "Little Yun, be quick."

"Yes, yes." Yun Xiao advanced, greeting the dozens of celestial maidens from the Harmony Divine Palace.

"Miya, our Thousand Snow Moon Peak is a place of serenity. Regarding this slave, I hope you impose strict requirements, only allowing him to leave under your supervision, and never to wander freely, disturbing the peace of others," the Moon Lemon Valkyrie instructed.

"Understood," Feng Yao nodded.

Even as celestial maidens of the Snow Lineage, they afforded no special treatment to a slave, sparing Yun Xiao hardly a glance.

For them, receiving Yun Xiao was akin to taking along Feng Yao and incidentally collecting some tool she had left outside.

"Let's go."

BUZZ! The celestial maidens of the Harmony Divine Palace, predominantly Inscription Immortals, did not brandish Sovereign Swords but danced in long snow-white dresses. Each wore a Corona, appearing like the fairies from paintings, drifting through the dense, snowy mist in ethereal beauty.

"The Diva of the Snow Lineage has issued a command!"

Just as they were about to depart, another group of celestial maidens from the Harmony Divine Palace appeared.

Each maiden was a stunning portrait of beauty, moving like waves on water, a feast for the eyes. However, their expressions were ice-cold, marring the sight.

"Our Diva has a command?"

Hearing this, the Moon Lemon Valkyrie halted and listened to the proclamation.

The group of celestial maidens descended before the countless slaves outside the Harmony Divine Palace, their chilling gaze sweeping over the lost souls who had strayed from their roots.

"The Snow Lineage will requisition all present slaves and escort them to the Snow Soul Cave," the celestial maidens declared.

"What?"

At this proclamation, the celestial maidens not selected into the Harmony Divine Palace were speechless—these were their personal slaves, suddenly claimed without consent.

However, this was the decree of the Diva of the Snow Lineage… Who would dare defy them?

This was a supreme ruler of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm! A Boundless Immortal they worshiped!

As for the millions of slaves, they could only look at each other, none daring to stand up, resist, or question.

They were merely beasts of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm, no different from pigs or dogs—how could they dare say they were unwilling?

"Take them away! Not one can be missed!"

And so, these millions of slaves were rigorously and orderly escorted by the dozens of celestial maidens from the Harmony Divine Palace towards the direction of the Snow Soul Cave beside the palace.

"Du Shuman, why does the Diva need so many Immortal slaves?" the Moon Lemon Valkyrie asked the woman who made the announcement.

This woman held a high position, likely a Valkyrie herself, tall and as cold as ice.

Yet, facing the Moon Lemon Valkyrie, she responded fairly, "I'm not entirely sure, perhaps the Diva needs them for alchemy as a substantial catalyst."

"I recall, our Diva has never used slaves for alchemy, has she?" the Moon Lemon Valkyrie inquired curiously.

"It likely relates to her attempt at becoming a Boundless Immortal," Du Shuman whispered, her voice low yet filled with excitement. "I heard she might have solved a major problem today, a breakthrough is imminent!"

"Really?" the Moon Lemon Valkyrie responded with equal fervor.

"Why else would she emerge from seclusion with such a roar today? Why the sudden need for millions of slaves?" Du Shuman replied with a meaningful smile.

"May the Diva complete her grand virtue!" the Moon Lemon Valkyrie said.

"Let's leave it at that for now."

Du Shuman began herding the millions of slaves away, while their owners, whether they had entered the Harmony Divine Palace or not, could only watch helplessly.

"Looks like you dodged the net," Feng Yao said, smirking at Yun Xiao.

"Keep it down," Yun Xiao hissed, having just been inspecting his fingers, trying to clean them, when Feng Yao startled him.

"What's got you so jittery?" Feng Yao was surprised; he was usually so composed.

"Keep it up, and I'll shut you up." Yun Xiao glared back.

"Getting touchy, are we? What mischief were you up to while I was attending the palace selection? I called you for ages with no reply," Feng Yao said suspiciously.

She knew Yun Xiao too well by now! He seemed to float through life, but his mind brewed schemes!

"I haven't even entered the Fourth Dao Tribulation; what mischief could I possibly do? Just keep your wits about you and find me resources, stop wasting time," Yun Xiao retorted.

"Alright, I'll start by finding a Calamity Source for you." Feng Yao knew when to back down, not pressing further, also worried about Yun Xiao being sent to the Snow Soul Cave.

Now that no one paid him any heed, it was the best situation. After all, he was just one among millions of slaves; who cared?

"No need for that. I've got one," Yun Xiao casually mentioned.

"Where did you get a Calamity Source?" Feng Yao's ears perked up.

"Ahem... took it from Zhao Mengmeng," Yun Xiao covered smoothly. He couldn’t very well admit to taking a service fee.

But thinking of that half-serpent girl with white hair and pink eyes, he felt speechless.

"I saved your life, and almost definitely helped you break through your shackles. You only bled a little, yet you're scouring millions just to find me?"

Judging from the descriptions, that girl appeared to be the Diva of the Snow Lineage, which Feng Yao had just joined. It was also exactly where Yun Xiao was headed now. How perilous could this journey be?

"It's a good thing I'm bold yet meticulous. I'll make a few more copies of that recording. If she's not afraid of going down with me, she can feel free to take revenge on me all she wants."

For a supreme Diva to be involved with a mere slave, if this recording got out, it could shake the very foundation of the Extreme Yin Celestial Realm.

"You're plotting something bad again when you're this quiet," Feng Yao's voice suddenly rang in his ears.

"Mind your status, stay away from me, mistress," Yun Xiao retorted coldly.

"Idiot, I'll soon fix you, and be your true master," the War Princess huffed.

At that moment, the Moon Lemon Valkyrie summoned her, offering warm inquiries into her well-being, while Yun Xiao, trailing behind, ignored by all, moved as if invisible, which suited him just fine.

"It seems, the Snow Lineage treats the slaves the kindest out of all the lineages."

The entire Snow Lineage had the fewest number of slaves and was the most serene.

The Harmony Divine Palace was divided into three sections, each standing strong.

The Ice Lineage's corner was a frozen expanse, miles of ice.

The Sea Lineage's domain was the northernmost, a cold, shadowy sea, chilling to the bone.

And the Snow Lineage's corner, right behind the Harmony Divine Palace, showcased snowy mountains, drifting flakes, and flying petals—all part of the Snow Lineage's territory, and arguably the most beautiful part of the Harmony Divine Palace.

Yun Xiao followed the group of celestial maidens. They flew over the vast snowy mountains, like fairies dancing in a painting, surrounded by a whirlwind of snowflakes and flower petals.

After passing many snowy mountains, courts, celestial formations, and blooming flowers, a moderately high snow-capped peak appeared, the home of the Moon Lemon Valkyrie.

Inside, the peak boasted many continuous mountains, each topped with palaces and exquisite celestial pavilions, breathtaking in their elegance.

"Yao'er, this Carefree Palace is now yours," the Moon Lemon Valkyrie said, pointing to a central snowy peak palace.

"Thank you, Master," Feng Yao replied, glancing at Yun Xiao, her heart naturally pondering the strange coincidence.

Yun Xiao's name stood for carefree, and now the two were residing in the Carefree Palace.

She imagined what a blissful life that would be!

"My residence is on that main peak," the Moon Lemon Valkyrie said with a smile, pointing to the tallest nearby snow mountain.

"Very close," Feng Yao noted.

"I can guide your cultivation at any time," the Moon Lemon Valkyrie smiled. "But first, I'll take you and the other new disciples to register and make your debut at the main peak."

The group headed towards the main peak.

At the Thousand Snow Moon Palace on the main peak, almost all the disciples who could make it were already there.

After all, who wouldn't want to catch a glimpse of a 7-Star celestial talent?

Yun Xiao, of course, couldn't go. As they passed the Carefree Palace, he wisely made his exit.

From a distance, the main peak buzzed with activity.

Feng Yao basked in the adulation, naturally the center of attention as the sole disciple of the Moon Lemon Valkyrie.

Yun Xiao thought she'd stay there long, but surprisingly, she returned to the Carefree Palace soon after.

It wasn't the Moon Lemon Valkyrie who brought her back, but a beautiful and gentle senior sister.

"Junior Sister Yao, I'm just next door at the Spiritual Charm Pavilion. If you have any questions, feel free to visit me. You must be tired today; I won’t disturb you further," the senior sister said softly.

"Thank you, Senior Sister." Feng Yao waved and stood at the entrance of the Carefree Palace, watching her leave...
