Lancelot's body darted through the sky, his winds causing the air to howl and scream from the speed.
He thought his ears might pop due to the speed, but the helmet that covered his nose, face and ears protected them—it did not stop his mouth from becoming dry and cold.
'What a strange place...'
{Master! Master!? Where did you go!}
Ikumi's worried voice sounded in his mind—because he left her in the Empire, he didn't cut their link in case something happened to her.
'Ah, I am just dealing with something in Avalon. Then I will be home super fast.'
{I need to pee... where is the restroom?}
Woosh!
His body almost fell from the sky, crashing into a tall tree with dark bark, the leaves and twigs snapping from the impact, causing him almost to cry.
Imagine being killed because your pet hare wanted to use the toilet!
'Ah... Do you see the door in my room?'
{Hmmm... The white one?}
He began to fly faster towards the enemy. In his vision was a vast expanse of greenery and beautiful mountains and forests, but in the far distance, his golden eyes began to shine as the distance magnified, showing a stone keep with various demons beasts walking on the walls.
"There you are..."
'Yes, then if you see the white basin...'
{Mmm? The one with taps?}
'Nonono! The one with the flusher and moveable seat!'
{Ah! The one with the strange pineapple inside?}
Lancelot's eyebrows twitched, a hidden sorrow of being a young child and mistaking those things for fruit.
'Don't touch it, but yet that's the right one. Press the large circle when you've finished, and the water will disappear.'
{Mmmm~ come home soon—it's cold and lonely without Master}
'Ah... I will.'
"Ah... It's cold here too..."
He replied the short answer while speaking his true feelings as the cold air made him feel isolated, slightly chilling his anger and rage.
Yet he wouldn't back down.
He couldn't let the death of the two hares go, even if he wanted to wait.
To kill or be killed was his way of life.
-
56 minutes later.
Over 200 metres above the large castle and village Lancelot hovered in the air, his eyes narrowing while calculating the number of enemies he would have to kill just to clear the outer perimeter.
"It seems that demon beasts spawn more than other units... 100 on the outer walls and who knows how many hiding in those hovels..."
Lancelot shook his head, spreading both arms wide as hundreds of blood-red twisted blades began to form and swirl around his head, each one locking onto a demon below, thanks to the visor of his Dominus tracking them.
'Let's start the party.'
The ground rumbled, shaking from the demonic roars that resounded outwards, making the soldiers in the castle fall over from the shockwave as Lancelot's eyes widened while laughing happily.
"So this is the feeling of killing!"
As the castle shook, Lancelot spread his arms wide as if welcoming the people of Avalon.
"Come!"
His body began to glow with a brilliant red and purple light as his blades of vengeance rained down on the monsters, their blades tracing through the skies until they penetrated the enemy's core; if one couldn't, two would; if two couldn't, FOUR would!
Lancelot felt pain, a throbbing in his head and muscles, but he continued to create and send down the blades of judgement to cut them down like an angel of death.
-
In a small room in the stone keep, a middle-aged man dressed in purple robes walked forwards, his eyes narrowed in anger as he frowned while watching the images from the magical scrying device.
"What in the world is going on?!"
The man turned towards another older man dressed in yellow robes, his eyes shining brightly as if he had won a lottery.
"Is this the work of that winged devil?"
"You don't know? We should send the Overlord..."
The man in the purple robes shook his head.
"We can't show such weakness to those damn lesser devils... at least not yet."
The man in the yellow robes nodded before glancing up to see another image showing an intense battle between the Overlord and Lancelot.
"Aahh... it seems that the lord of the Devildom is quite taken with that winged devil..."
The two men smiled at each other, enjoying the sight of the war brewing before their very eyes.
"We should leave this place and start anew... How about the human territories?"
"Hohoho~ what an amusing idea!" The older man nodded before the inner castle suddenly became empty...
No signs the men ever existed—along with the Ether and money they were providing, the Overlord suddenly vanished.
-
"You dare kill my cute Hares!"
Can-Clang!
Lancelot's bloody scales formed two swords from his forearm, slashing the flesh from the neck of the enemy.
He called himself the Overlord of all beasts!
"You think I would allow you to live after killing two of my troops?! Die!"
Lancelot's body glowed with a dark red aura, his magic scales filling with Ether as they created a shield of power, absorbing the blows of the Overlord's fists as Lancelot grinned wickedly despite blood oozing from the corner of his lips.
He couldn't understand what happened; when his attack killed most of the outer demons, this demon with two black wings suddenly shot from the smaller building beside the castle and tried to behead him.
He then started spouting about being the Overlord of this area.
'What a stupid race...'
Lancelot thought to himself before his eyes narrowed as a blur flashed past his left eye, narrowly missing his head as he rolled to the right.
'That was close... how did he react so quickly?'
A giant black wing pierced the stone ground, shaking the earth as he glanced up to see a face similar to the demon he fought in the Empire, but this one looked younger, its skin a pale blue with no pupils in its eyes.
"I am the true Overlord of these lands!"
"Yeah, yeah, whatever."
Lancelot waved his hand in dismissal while muttering under his breath.
"Oh great Lord, grant me your strength!"
A sudden heat surrounded Lancelot, his wounds healing every second as his golden eyes narrowed.
"Let's dance."
Lancelot's body flickered as the Overlord shot forwards, his arm swinging in a horizontal arc while Lancelot jumped upwards.
*CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!*
The metal hitting metal echoed throughout the plains as the two locked their blades together, sparks scattering across the field as Lancelot's teeth gritted in pain.
"Uwahhh!"
The Overlord suddenly swirled his wings, spinning Lancelot around before slamming his fist into his chest, causing Lancelot to cough and spit blood from the impact.
"Cough!"
Lancelot smirked while rolling out of the way, his face healing instantly as he lifted his leg high.
'Now!'
With a swift kick, Lancelot caused the ground to splinter and explode, sending dirt into the air as the Overlord's eyes widened.
"Shit!"
The Overlord bent backwards to dodge the blow before Lancelot appeared behind him, a red blade flying from his palm as the Overlord growled.
"You will die!"
A sudden blast of wind knocked Lancelot away as the Overlord's body glowed with a dark green aura, his wings extending far into the sky as Lancelot's eyes narrowed.
'So he can use magic...'
Lancelot stood up, his body covered in mud as the Overlord approached him, his fist pulled back as he took a stance.
"Rise and Fall!"
The Overlord's fist blasted forwards, smashing the ground as a rock pillar rose from the earth, aiming for Lancelot's head.
Lancelot's body glowed with a dark red aura, his fist punching through the rock as he moved towards the Overlord.
His two blades created a vortex dancing through the sky, using his wings to move faster than the Overlord could see, his body darting around like a dragonfly—with each movement, he slashed at the Overlord's body with the red blades from his forearms.
Blood and flesh began to spray into the sky as the Overlord's right arm hung from Lancelot's blades. In contrast, the tiny daggers made from his [Phantasmal Swordsmanship] began to rain down on the weakened Overlord, piercing and penetrating him with dozens of deadly blades.
The Overlord's face turned purple as Lancelot's blades pierced his body, the Overlord's back arching as he coughed blood onto the ground.
"Die!"
Lancelot's body glowed with a dark red aura, his scales filling with Ether as he unleashed a wave of energy in all directions.
Tiny knives of light burst from the ground, slicing and stabbing at the Overlord, his body glowing brightly as he screamed in agony.
"noooo!"
His screams slowly died as the Overlord fell to his knees before the blades tore him apart as he exploded into a mist of blood and flesh, raining down on the destroyed village, all from their battle...
Lancelot turned to see the Overlord's corpse lying on the ground, his body now nothing more than ash. The villagers had fled, leaving only a few demon guardsmen behind.
"It seems our little show is over." Lancelot's body was heavy... he felt the desire to kill and devour throbbing in the back of his mind, but he held it off as the Dominus was filled with deep wounds and cracks.
'Getting home will be a pain in the ass...'
'Ah~ I want to sleep on Morgana's soft chest... or Marimo's thick thighs...'
Little did the tired Lord know...
He was transferring his thoughts to ALL his units, and his most primal desires were entering their little heads.
Even the thing Ikumi was doing to him back in the Empire...
Ah... Lancelot...
Forever the cause of your own misery.
