Chapter 20: The Beginning of the Outer Sect Competition
........
"..." "..."
A few mysterious figures came into the hall of the Yang Sect Registry building, looking for any signs of the boy they had been ordered to kill, no matter the cost.
However, when they arrived, the boy was nowhere to be found, and a dumbfounded receptionist was left in his place...
"It looks like he's already made it to the competition venue..." One of the figures spoke with a disgruntled expression.
"Should we take immediate action and ignore the rules of the Yang Sect, or should we report back to the master and wait for his decision?" The same figure inquired.
"..."
The second figure seemed to be in deep thought for an instant before he replied, "Let's just wait it out here. When the boy wins the competition, we will simply take him out and bring his head back to the Black Tiger Lord."
"Understood," the first shadowy figure responded before both of them vanished into their surroundings.
"It looks like I lost them for now..." Azmodeus murmured while looking at the two elusive men in cloaks from a few hundred meters away.
Both of them are in the peak stages of the 20% Tempering Marrow Realm, and as confident as I am in my strength, there is absolutely no way that I can take on both of them even while using my brains to fight...
He wasn't stupid, and he knew when it was time to back off from an extremely tough battle.
However, if Azmodeus's guesses were correct, then he should be able to surpass both of them by the end of the Outer Sect Admittance Competition.
Nevertheless, he got out from behind a few bleachers and headed in the direction of the area where all the contestants for the competition were gathered.
-
"So this is the competition that I'm competing against?" Azmodeus asked with a slightly disappointed look on his face.
Out of all the other contestants, there were a total of five people in the Viscera Training Large Success Stage, while the rest were in the Viscera Refining Small Success Stage.
Well, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, considering that for an Outer Sect Competition, this is already quite good...
He was disappointed in the lack of a challenge, but regardless of his grievances, the announcer of the competition soon started to speak:
"Is everyone ready for the Outer Sect Admittance Test of the Yang Sect!?"
A boisterous voice bellowed out from atop the dozens of rows of stone bleachers as a man with a thin frame and yellow robes stood atop an extended building, using some sort of voice transmission technique to make his voice louder.
HOOORAAH!
The crowd went absolutely wild at the words of the announcer, as the thousands of people who came to spectate this match were quite excited about getting to see real 'immortals' in action.
"I love you, immortal Mr! Please marry me!"
"I want your seed inside me, Mr. Immortals!!"
"Why won't you look my way, Mr. immortal!? I really want you to stare at me with that menacing glare all day long!"
"Ms. Yang Yu, please look at this declaration of love that I'm about to let rain from the sky onto your perfect, supple jade skin!"
Everyone in the crowd was, to say the least...
"A bunch of perverts..." Azmodeus muttered while blending in with the few other hundred contestants.
He had already informed a few staff members of his arrival, upon which they started to freak out while agreeing to whatever he requested.
It seems like everyone I talk to is somehow directly related to the Black Tiger Family or in cahoots with a subsidiary of the Black Tiger Family...
He figured there would be a number of spies in the Yang Sect; however, he never would've anticipated there to be so many!
I mean, literally every single staff member calls someone from the Black Tiger Family every time I tell them my name...
At this point, I'm beginning to think that I'm quite famous around these parts...
He chuckled a little before focusing his attention back on the announcer, who was informing everyone of the rules of the competition.
It didn't take long before the announcer got to the end of his instructions and switched to a narrator's point of view, starting the countdown for the competition.
"3... 2... 1... Begin!"
After which, all of the contestants started fighting each other on the same square-blocked ring.
The ring itself was sturdy and stretched in every direction for around a thousand meters, which made it big enough to fit all these different cultivators.
However, since the Outer Sect Admittance Test was a free-for-all and strictly kept everyone in constant battle, the fighting ring quickly cracked and shattered with all the fierce attacks being thrown by the various contestants.
HOOORAAH!
The crowd erupted in uproarious cheers as they couldn't get enough of watching people fly outside of the arena by those of superior strength!

Meanwhile, in the VIP stands of the Yang Arena, a few wizened figures sat atop some rather extravagant chairs, looking down at all the fights occurring before them.
"Who do you think will end up becoming Outer Disciples, Elder Yong?" One of the Outer Deacons of the sect voiced his question with his eyes focused on a particular boy sitting back, watching everything go down.
Elder Yong stroked his long white and gray beard as his eyes honed in on the same nonchalant boy that Outer Deacon Yang Bin was staring at.
"I think that my son will win it all. After all, although that Azmodeus boy is quite mysterious and has taken the entire Outer Sect by storm with his recent 'achievements', my son is still superior."
Elder Yong's voice resounded as he turned his focus away from the black-haired boy and instead watched the ongoing fights of a relatively robust man—a man who threw out all of his opponents with just pure brute force!
"...Your son's Super Strength Trait makes the rest of us jealous, you know that?" Another Outer Deacon spoke with a wry smile, as he was truly envious of this old bastard for having such a talented son.
On the other hand, his son was already on the verge of losing to the daughter of Elder Bin...
