Chapter 20: The Voice In His Head
Chapter 20: The Voice In His Head
"You said you like to live alone in your small house. Is this the small house you're talking about?" Hael asked as the sound of a small, and no doubt prideful chuckle ran beside him while Captain Aliea walked forward and placed both hands on the large astral blue door, which made a strange ripple before it was fully pushed open.
"Welcome to my humble abode," Captain Aliea said as Hael walked into the skyscraper and was immediately awed by it. While it didn't have the vast hall and throne present in the palace, it was a completely new and special design. What took away the majority of his breath was the incredibly large chandelier that released motes of astral blue lights, illuminating the room.
There were four seats arranged in a rectangular format, with a strange fluffy material at the center of the seat where a glass table, designed in the shape of a sleeping bear, was present.
"Are those your family?" Hael suddenly asked as Captain Aliea turned her attention towards him and noticed he was staring at the large wall-sized image hung on the sides of the living room.
Within the picture were a total of four people, a blue-haired man and woman dressed in strange armor, which he had previously worn, but theirs appeared larger and more beautiful, with a gigantic sword hung on their backs. In front of them were two other people, a male around 18 years old, also clad in armor, and a small blue-haired female of around 7 years old.
The female was no doubt Captain Aliea, who currently had the biggest, truest smile that Hael had ever seen on her.
"So what do you say about my brother, doesn't he look like you?" Captain Aliea said, arriving beside him as Hael stared intently at the young man and gave a nod. "He truly has a 20% semblance to me, in that his hair and eyes are blue like mine. He is just a little darker, unlike my fresh princely white skin," Hael said, as tingling laughter rang out from Captain Aliea.
"You sure have a sweet mouth, don't you, Kiddo?" She asked as Hael snorted.
"That said, I don't think they are in the house, are they?" Hael asked, with furrowed eyebrows as he looked around the place and saw it was dead silent as a grave.
"They are gone," Captain Aliea said with a nonchalant expression and walked away from the image. Immediately, Hael was able to pick up the change in her aura and knew she was an orphan.
"But your brother, don't tell me...?" Hael asked as Captain Aliea stopped in her tracks.
"He was very talented. So talented that the government thought he was ready to partake in the war at the age of 18, against the normal 30-year minimum requirement. He went together with my mom and dad. And that image was the last we ever took together," she said, her tone as listless as ever.
"They seem like ones who are willing to give you even their lives. I am very sorry for your loss," Hael offered comfort in the best way he could.
"Nah, that happened ten years ago. I have already moved on, Kiddo," Captain Aliea said, climbing the steps.
"There are five rooms in the building. Choose the one you like, just stay away from the one on the highest floor, or I'll rip your face off," Captain Aliea said with a wicked expression before quickly disappearing up the stairs.
"Um, I think I'll just take the one on the lowest floor," Hael mused to himself.
Hael thought to himself as he began walking around the room, and soon he found the door with the words "Aiden's Room" written at its top. Opening up the door, the first thing that came to sight was the gigantic bed that almost rivaled his own bed in the palace. There was a wardrobe at the side, a restroom to the right, a small table and chair, sitting beside a mini-shelf where some books were present, and some other less noteworthy things.
Locking the door tightly behind him, Hael gave a loud exhale as his chest almost pounded out of his heart now that he was by himself.
"I... I didn't die. I was brought to another world. A world called Earth!" Hael thought to himself as he collapsed on both knees.
"I can tell this is no dream. This is real, but how? Did the dark portal at the bottom of the sea really bring me here? And I was already burnt half to death, How can I have survived without any injury..."
[That is due to the power of the fifth moon fragment that has chosen to bond with you,] the screen suddenly appeared in front of his face.
Immediately, all his muscles went into hyperfreeze as he looked at the notification dazedly.
[I know this is weird, but you have nothing to worry about, Hael...]
The words appeared once more as drops of sweat rolled down Hael's face.
'It knows my name!' Hael thought in his head.
[Yes. I do.]
'And it can also read my mind?' Hael asked himself in shock.
"Yes, I can.]
"I am running mad slowly?"
[Before you completely do so, perhaps you'll give me the chance to introduce myself.]
[I am the Infinity Guardian System, an entity stored within the fifth moon fragment that you found before the portal and fused with before arriving on Earth.
According to my scan, you have gained the power of the fourth moon portal, the Winterfall petals to be exact, and that seemed to be ancestral, which means you aren't the first to fuse with it.
But the fifth petal, the Infinity Guardian moon petal, is original, meaning you're the first to fuse with it, and it is also the most special of the moon petals. ]
[The Infinity petal is the one blessed with consciousness, and that consciousness is me talking in your head. It might be safe to call me the ancestor of the Original moon that split into five pieces. I am the ultimate consciousness of Aetheria's source of Magical Power."]
