Chapter 1050 - Friends of Feng Ling’er
Chapter 1050: Friends of Feng Ling’er
Wise Man Ku Ji was suave about it, but it did not change the fact that he had given away his slot to Mo Wen, so Mo Wen still owed him this debt of gratitude.
“Don’t fret over this, Brother Mo Wen, it’s just a few slots. If you still can’t find the remaining few, we’ll hand over ours as well,” Xiao Jinghe said with a chuckle.
“Did the bunch of you break through to the Tide Changing Realm as well?” Mo Wen looked at Xiao Jinghe and the rest in shock. He did not notice earlier but now that he took a closer look, it seemed like the four of them had indeed broken through to the Tide Changing Realm.
The four of them were ultimate geniuses of the Huatian Palace and were fully supported and nurtured by the Huatian Palace, so their level of achievement was no surprise at all. Besides, they had previously suppressed their cultivation because of the Path of Creation, so it was only normal that their cultivation would skyrocket now that they were out of the Creation Pool.
“Yes, the four of us are also preparing to head to the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield. If we run into you there, please take care of us,” Nie Junxue said with a smile.
The Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield was a place that was perilous beyond compare, so their cultivation was likely the lowest. However, there was no need for them to be afraid either, not when they were the pride of the Huatian Palace and would naturally be prepared. Besides, they were not aiming to survive until the very end; all of them wanted was to reap as many benefits as they possibly could, nothing more than that.
“Who knows, I might be the one needing your help,” Mo Wen said with a smile.
“Haha, Brother Mo Wen is too modest. We barely know you, and the four of us might not even match up against you.” Xiao Jinghe shook his head with a smile.
Old Man Ku Ji was shocked when he heard this. Did Xiao Jinghe just say the four of them together were no stronger than Mo Wen alone? Was he for real? Although he knew that Mo Wen was extraordinary and his intrinsic skills were unparalleled, he would probably only be on par with Xiao Jinghe and the rest of them, no? Old Man Ku Ji had even thought that Mo Wen was not on Xiao Jinghe’s level.
Of course, he did not know about the events that had unfolded in the preliminary ancient land, or he would never think like this.
“Brother Mo Wen, these two are items I’ve recently concocted. It’s pointless for me to keep them for myself, so I’ll give them to you.”
Nie Junxue walked up to Mo Wen and handed two items over to him. They were two ancient swords; spiritual light glimmered and the aura coming off of them seemed boundless. Both swords were invaluable spiritual treasures.
“These two swords are called Drizzle and Blue Frost, and they’re the two best things I’ve created during this period. Although they’re not earth spiritual treasures, they’re still the best amongst regular spiritual treasures,” Nie Junxue said with a smile.
Refining weapons was not difficult for her since she was a master weapon refiner. Ever since she had cultivated the Light of Creation in the Creation Pool, her weapon refining abilities had also improved exponentially. After some time, she might even be able to craft earth spiritual treasures and even heaven spiritual treasures.
“This... this is too much.” Mo Wen chuckled bitterly. Although Nie Junxue was a master weapon refiner, crafting treasures like spiritual treasures required materials that were rather pricey. No pain, no gain. No matter how you spun it, there was just no way he could accept this.
“Brother Mo Wen, these are precious, but are they more precious than this life of mine? You saved me, so repaying that debt is the least I can do,” Nie Junxue said with a smile, then turned to leave before Mo Wen could reject her.
“It’s true that I saved you, but we’ve already cleared...” Mo Wen was still trying to find the right words.
“That’s enough, stop being so wishy-washy. Nie Junxue isn’t one to concoct spiritual treasures for just anybody, and even we have to beg for half a day and fulfill all sorts of requests before she’ll concoct some for us. You’re so lucky, and you don’t even know it. Take it, just take it. Nie Junxue never takes back what she gives out.”
Chu Yu rolled his eyes at Mo Wen, his gaze filled with jealousy and envy. He and Nie Junxue had known each other for so many years but he had never enjoyed such treatment.
Xiao Jinghe and Wen Jiuhai met eyes, then shook their heads with a bitter laugh. How aggravating!
Gu Jingman, who had been standing some distance away, frowned a little and huffed.
Mo Yuqing glanced at her and ridicule flashed in her eyes, then she turned back to look at the sky, aloof and arrogant as she refused to interact.
A while later, Mo Qingtian walked out of the Senate.
“It’s settled.”
Mo Qingtian carelessly tossed five tokens to Mo Wen—they were their tickets into the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield.
“Why don’t you guys go now? The Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield has opened its doors, so there’s probably quite a number of people who are rushing into the Ancient Sorcery Space. We people from the Source World can only teleport to the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield through the Ancient Sorcery Space and that is not easy, so you lot have to be extra careful. All the cultivators from the other worlds are rather extraordinary, so hide if you can, and don’t go against them head-on,” Mo Qingtian instructed.
In every preliminary Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield, the cultivators from the Source World were always the weakest and the fewest of the ones who headed there.
After all, the Tide Changing Realm was the highest level for cultivators in the Source World, so there were few of them there. But what about other places such as the Spirit Realm or the Underworld? The Tide Changing Realm was a child who had just stepped onto the path of cultivation and was not worth mentioning at all. Their elites were far stronger than the cultivators of the Source World.
“Are you and Mo Qingge not coming along?” Mo Wen looked towards Mo Qingtian. He and Mo Qingge were probably Tide Changing Realm adepts, right?
“The two of us? We don’t have to, not anymore.” Mo Qingtian shook his head with a smile, looking somewhat enigmatic.
Mo Wen nodded like he was deep in thought, and he said no more.
The Huatian Palace had a teleporting stratagem that connected directly to the Ancient Sorcery Space. The few of them stepped onto it, then disappeared into the teleportation main hall in a flash.
On the other side was an ancient main hall where bouts of mysterious light kept flashing. Afterward, the group stepped out from the teleporting stratagem.
There was an ancient main hall that looked rather similar to the teleportation main hall in the Huatian Palace but its size was not as large. One could only say this was a mini teleportation main hall. In the main hall were some people who looked oddly dressed, and some of them were busy with other things while others stood by the two sides of the main hall, as if they were guards.
“Cultivators of the Peng Lai Immortal Realm, welcome to the Ancient Sorcery Space.”
A person dressed completely in black robes appeared in front of them. The person had hidden themself in pitch-black darkness—covered in a cloak, and only a withered face was faintly visible.
The aura coming off of the person dressed in black did not seem to be very strong, so they were probably just a Primordial Soul Realm cultivator.
But the Primordial Soul Realm was already quite formidable in the Ancient Sorcery Space, and they were a small group at the top of the pyramid.
After all, the Ancient Sorcery Space was just a small mystery dimension, so there were not a lot of powerful cultivators.
“Seniors, please show me your sorcerer insignias,” the black-robed person spoke in a hoarse voice.
When he stepped closer, Mo Wen realized that the person in black robes was an old lady, and her get-up seemed similar to a witch.
The few of them handed the black tokens over. The old lady looked at the few tokens, then a beam of red light shot out from her eyes to shine on the tokens. After she verified them, she nodded, then said, “Please follow me.”
Mo Wen and the rest followed behind the old lady to step out of the teleportation main hall. Outside of the hall, there seemed to be no end in sight and it looked rather vast. The teleportation main hall was situated atop a mountain peak, and right below the mountain was a city. The city had a strange architecture, a rather unique one, and it was probably architecture in the style of the Sorcerer Clan.
Mo Wen suddenly remembered something. He looked at the old lady who was leading them, then asked, “May I ask if there’s a place called the Phoenix Tail Village here in the Ancient Sorcery Space?”
The old lady from the Sorcerer Clan jerked. Her gaze was suspicious when she looked at Mo Wen, and she asked, “Your Excellency knows about the Phoenix Tail Village?”
“One of my friends is part of the Sorcerer Clan and stays in the Phoenix Tail Village, here in the Ancient Sorcery Space,” Mo Wen replied with a smile.
This was equal parts true and false. The Phoenix Tail Village he mentioned was where Yun Deguang, Yun Xiaoman’s grandfather, had once been to. Ten years ago, he learned a secret from the Yun clan regarding Yun Xiaoman’s grandfather and thereafter learned about the origin of Yun Xiaoman and the Sorcerer Clan.
Speaking of which, back then, he had promised the Yun clan that he would do his best to rescue Yun Xiaoman, but a delay had set him back by 10 years. A lot had changed with the passing of time, and Yun Deguang had become older when he visited them a while back, and it was unlikely that he would live much longer. He had always hoped that Yun Xiaoman would return, but the good news was that Yun Xiaoman’s mother had become pregnant again and had given birth to a little baby. The new life had gone some way toward thinning the dreadful haze that hung over the Yun clan.
Yun Deguang had always hoped that he could return to the Phoenix Tail Village one more time to look for traces from back then, so it was a shame that Mo Wen could not bring him along because he was heading to the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield.
“Oh, I wonder who that friend of yours is. I might know them,” the black-robed old lady remarked mildly.
It was true that quite a few of the people from the Sorcerer Clan moved about outside of the Ancient Sorcery Space, so it was not strange that they would be acquainted with cultivators from outside.
“Her name is Feng Ling’er,” Mo Wen said with a smile. Feng Ling’er was Yun Deguang’s lover.
“Tribe Chief Feng. You know Tribe Chief Feng Ling’er?” The old lady from the Sorcerer Clan looked at Mo Wen in shock. Feng Ling’er was the tribe chief of the Sorcerer Clan in the Ancient Sorcery Space, and also the strongest person in the Ancient Sorcery Space.
Xiao Jinghe and the other three never expected Mo Wen to know a tribe chief in the Ancient Sorcery Space. How did he know her?
“Is Tribe Chief Feng in the Ancient Sorcery Space?” Mo Wen asked. Yun Deguang could not come here himself, but there were some words he could help convey.
“Tribe Chief Feng is not here. She’s now in charge of nurturing the three Moon Maiden candidates we picked from the Source World, so she’s in the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield. Perhaps you’ll be able to meet her when you get there.” The old lady cloaked in black shook her head.
After learning that this person was a friend of the tribe chief, the old lady from the sorcerer clan became much more friendly. On their way to the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield, she kept telling them stories about their local customs and practices.
The Sorcerer Spirits Mountain was the first spirits mountain in the Ancient Sorcery Space. This was the most forbidden of forbidden lands and people were not allowed to come close on most days. This was because the entrance to the Magical Realm was on the Sorcerer Spirits Mountain.
They were headed to the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield this time, so they had to use the space-time passageway on the Sorcerer Spirits Mountain. This was because a regular teleporting stratagem did not have the power to sustain such long-distance shuttles.
At this moment, quite a few people had gathered on a place atop the Sorcerer Spirits Mountain.
In the middle of the air, an elliptic ball of light was glowing azure blue. The ball of light had depth beyond compare, as though it could drag a person’s soul into itself.
A space-time passageway!
The elliptical, azure blue ball of light was a space-time passageway. Space-time passageways could perform extremely long-distance teleports, crossing an innumerable amount of space and worlds in a split second. One had to go through a space-time passageway to get to the Ancestral Sorcerer Battlefield.
“Huh?”
The moment they reached the valley, Mo Wen recognized quite a few of the faces there. Aside from the Huatian Palace and the sects from the Peng Lai Immortal Realm, there were also people from heretic organizations like Hades Mountain and Demonic Sky. There was one person who Mo Wen noticed immediately. At the same time, they noticed him as well. It was none other than Nangong Mingzhu, the leader of the Demonic Sky.
