Chapter 46 - Love Is Blind
Brione was back in her room, she quickly took a shower because it was a very hot day. Then she grabbed a backpack to get going and pack the things she would need for the tour inside the forest with Cedric.
She was a bit excited and she could not bring herself to hide that fact. It was sooner than she had expected, Berry and Mitch rushed back into her room as soon as they found out she was there.
Brione's face was extremely red just looking at the teasing eyes of the two women in front of her. Their giggling was killing her and so she glared at them and hissed, "What?"
"Well, we are under instructions to prepare your luggage since it will go to the next room. I guess you and him are officially together now?" Berry mumbled and Brione's silence was proof enough to confirm it.
Mitch sighed. She looked at Berry and said, "We too should prepare well. Soon, the media people and netizens will go haywire so let's formulate good answers to everything they can possibly throw at us, with our team."
Suddenly the doorbell rang, so Brione looked at the two of them and said, "I will go out with Cedric."
"Yes Boss, go and leave us here, alone, as we rack our brains out to prepare for the approaching thunderstorm," Berry said and Brione chuckled.
"How nice is it to be in love," Berry added as she looked at Brione's back.
"But hers is surely very complicated. I wanna support her but no matter what we will definitely encounter great losses and backlash if the response of the netizens is not good once this news leaks." Mitch whispered.
"You worry too much. Prince Cedric is very powerful, I'm sure we won't face any major backlash or loss" Berry encouraged.
Meanwhile, Brione smiled as soon as she saw Cedric standing outside her door.
"Ready?" he asked and she nodded.
"After you," Cedric said and she walked first but then she felt Cedric's hand on hers, intertwining their fingers together.
"How is the security on the island?" Brione asked to break the silence when they went inside the car.
"The security is very tight, so don't worry. That incident will never occur again. Only those who wish to die would dare," Cedric said with a reassuring voice. Brione did notice that a lot of security personnel were there around the area.
"What's inside your backpack?" Cedric asked, looking at the bag Brione was hugging on her lap. How he envied the backpack and wished he was there instead that she was hugging.
"Oh, this. Just some clothes etc since we will swim in the falls and just a few essentials," she said timidly.
"About that incident you said you don't remember anything at all so the only memory you now have started when you opened your eyes after the accident, right? Do you mind if I ask you a little more about your life after that accident?" Brione asked, looking at the bag on her lap.
"Hmm, sure. I will tell you more about everything once we are inside the forest so we have something to discuss while riding Blaze," Cedric said since it excited him how he would be able to have a long talk with her and he was eager to share with her everything about himself as well.
But somewhere, a part of him was telling not to celebrate this too much because he knew Brione was asking him all this not because she was interested in his life but because she was getting more points in convincing herself that she was right about him…
He was hurting and yet that was probably the irony of the saying, 'love is blind'. He was willing to remain blinded by other things as long as Brione was with him, by his side.
They arrived at the gate where Peter was already waiting for them with Blaze.
"You won't really allow me to ride a horse on my own, huh?" Brione complained with a pout, seeing it was only Blaze there.
"It's not safe yet sweetheart. Besides, I will find a suitable horse for you soon. You can build rapport with it first in the barn before I actually allow you to ride it in the vast forest," Cedric reasoned as he helped Brione up to hop on Blaze. And like before, he also jumped and sat behind Brione, hugging her close to him.
Peter signaled the guards and the door opened. And now they were back inside the forest. Blaze was just walking them at a normal pace.
"So, I will now start talking since you asked for this. Don't you dare yawn on me," Cedric whispered in her ears.
"I won't, I promise!" Brione answered with a smile. She inhaled the fresh air as she once again enjoyed the beauty of the forest and surroundings as they passed by the lush green patches riding on the Blaze who walked them to their destination.
"When I woke up, my father was beside me. I couldn't recall anything at all. They made sure I recuperated well and Dr. Cain is the one who really helped me back to my feet again. Then they set up a team to help me remember important things that I should know.
Well, more like I memorized them all since I couldn't recall anything after a lot of effort from the entire team. I was in seclusion for nearly six months, recovering in our private facility and at the same time learning the things that I should not forget as a Prince.
So basically there's nothing at all since I had the same routine all over again and again. Things changed a little when just recently, my father allowed me to go and attend a conference in disguise since no one should know I was the Prince. It was held in country D, your country."
"Huh? You've been in my country in a disguise?" Brione reconfirmed.
"Yeah, so no one recognized me as Gavin," Cedric murmured.
"Ohh," Brione breathed.
"That was also the time I saw you for the first time Bri," Cedric confessed.
