Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 481  The Being from The Sun

481  The Being from The Sun

POV A native being:

In a dimly lit room, Zorax, his skin a deep shade of amethyst, lounged in an overstuffed chair, his luminous yellow eyes fixed on the television screen. He idly twirled one of his long, tapered fingers around a lock of his silver hair, a habit he fell into when deep in thought.

The newscast flickered with the image of a renowned astronomer standing before a large, intricate star chart.

"As you see, the temperature within our star is enormous, so we can safely assume that the discovered lifeform must be using some kind of energy field to isolate its body, as there is no known material that could withstand such a high temperature."

Zorax moved his finger, and with a click, the televisions turned off, leaving his apartment in darkness.

'Always the same fucking thing...' The concept was simply too unfathomable and too distant for him to care—he had a mortgage to pay, slaving in the low-paid job for Mr.

Initially, when the footage from the satellite leaked, he was more than interested, especially enjoying his trashy government bombed with hatred from both their own citizens and the international community.

'That is what that trash got for hiding something so important!'

His thoughts were violently interrupted as a beast's growl—not just heard but felt—

reverberated through his apartment. Windows shuddered, sending eerie, ringing echoes cascading through the space. Books and vases succumbed to the tremors, tumbling from shelves. The vibrations seized his very bones.

Suddenly, the room drowned in an unnatural brightness. A blinding glow surged through the window, banishing the night in an instant. It was as if the sun had erupted into being right there, ignoring the natural order.

'Is it a nuclear attack?!'

The thought struck him like a physical blow. Eyes widening in alarm, he leaped to his feet, nearly toppling over the debris that littered the floor. Heart pounding, he dashed to the nearest window with a mix of dread and urgency.

Rooted to the spot, he peered out, his body rigid, caught in the grip of fear and awe. The sky glowed—dark as tar, streaked with purple flames, and laced with veins of golden lightning. This otherworldly tempest raged across the heavens, an ominous portent that seemed to swallow the sky whole.

'Apocalypse is here!' He grasped his pointy ears, almost tearing them off his head as despair clenched his three hearts.

The pair of golden eyes, as massive as if he stared into two new moons, opened, their golden light piercing through the chaotic storm surging in the sky.

POV Vesuvius:

The dragon, in his massive form, submerged in the chaotic storm within the stellar nebula surrounding him, stared at the city below him.

The high-rise buildings of steel and glass stretched into the horizon, the glow of the night lights flickering in and out of existence.

He didn't even flap his wings; his power over gravity allowed him to freely hover in the air.

"Mortals, bask in my glorious divine radiance!" His voice reverberated through the planet below him, and the meaning of his words was understandable to each and every living being.

'Language of souls...' As his divine power grew, more and more draconic knowledge awakened, and amidst it was also the knowledge of the soul language—the language understandable by every being having a soul.

'This just shows the attitude of the dragon toward other, lesser beings. Not even bothering to learn to communicate, pushing it all the way back in the list of priorities.'

It was simply beneath the dragons to learn and speak other languages. Instead, they expected everyone else to learn and speak the same languages that they bothered to learn.

"Assemble your leaders, for I require your services!" The dragon didn't even care for subtleness, as he had no time as his own world was in flames. He just needs the location of the nearest black hole at any cost.

He waited silently in the sky, and to his surprise, nothing happened. There were no barrages of nukes or any swarms of planes heading for him. No one attacked him, making him nod his head in approval.

'Maybe the whip will not be necessary...'

Meanwhile, in the super, extra, top-secret, and ultra-safe bunker:

POV ???:

Purple-skinned beings, garbed in expensive foil suits that creased with their hurried movements, shouted across a circular table of black glass. Their rushed and haphazard appearances betrayed the urgency of the moment.

"It's THAT being from the sun! It has come for us!" one exclaimed.

"The fault lies with those reckless astronomers; their satellites have provoked it! I tell you all, we should arrest all of them!" accused another.

Amidst the cacophony, a single figure remained silent, his gaze heavy with a mix of depression and excitement. This wasn't merely an invasion; it was their first real encounter with another intelligent life form.

'We have spent so long gazing at distant stars in search of life, yet it was nearer than we ever imagined,' he thought, a sense of irony tingeing his reflection.

His thoughts were shattered as another council member barked, "We must mobilize our militaries!"

The silent figure rose, his arm lifting in a commanding gesture that silenced the council in an instant. "Don't be fools. That entity endures with the heart of a star. Do you truly believe our weapons can touch it?" His voice was a calm, icy rebuke, asserting his dominance over this shadow council that had covertly governed their world for centuries.

'These petty rulers, thinking their small dominions grant them wisdom on matters beyond their grasp, Naïve.'

His eyes swept over the council, his authority unchallenged. "You will initiate communication. Act swiftly; do not leave the being waiting."

(AN: Yeah, I start to think that maybe I should start working toward a satisfying ending instead of dragging this until it loses all its spirit, or even worse, ends up without a proper ending. I already know how this will end; I knew it from the beginning; I just didn't know the path toward it. Still, don't worry; there are still enough chapters left before that.)
