Chapter 611: Chapter 611 - Beyond the Gates of Grandeur
Ronald, his face glowing with enthusiasm, quickly approached Leon and attempted to give him a hug. But Leon sidestepped smoothly, catching Ronald off guard.
"Haha..." Ronald exclaimed. "Master Leon! It's me, Remember Me!"
Freya chuckled lightly and quipped, "Ron, could you tone it down a little? This isn't the game anymore."
"Oh, Freya," Ronald said confidently, flashing a grin. "Can't you see how thrilled I am to finally meet the person I admire? This is perfectly natural."
Leon greeted him with a small smile. "Hi, Ron."
"Hello, Master!" Ronald replied. "I'm ready and eager to take you on a journey across the country today." He gestured proudly to the two home buses parked nearby.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Can you just call me Leon, please?" Leon said with a grin.
"Haha, sorry! It's just a habit," Ronald laughed.
He continued, motioning towards the buses. "As you can see, I've arranged for the most luxurious amenities. The first home bus has a fully equipped kitchen where the chefs will be preparing meals, and the second has two capsule devices and a cozy space for you to relax and unwind. I'm sure you'll feel right at home," he chuckled proudly.
"That's so cool," Leon responded casually.
Ronald frowned. He turned to Freya with a puzzled expression. "Freya, did you tell him about all this? Why isn't he surprised?"
Freya chuckled. "Ron, you'll have to get used to his poker face," she teased.
Ronald let out a hearty laugh. "I think I'll work on that soon," he joked. "But seriously, I'm sure you're going to love the facilities I've prepared for you, Master."
"Leon," Leon corrected.
Ronald then elaborated on the features of the home buses he had brought along. Though at first glance they resembled Leon's own vehicles, Ronald's buses were clearly customized to cater to their specific needs for the journey ahead.
The first home bus, carrying Ronald's team, was equipped with a chef personally selected by Ronald and a maid to attend to the needs of the three of them. The second bus boasted two capsule devices, a comfortable sleeping area, and a leisure space for relaxation.
One particularly impressive feature was the sophisticated drone system, capable of ferrying food from the first home bus to the second, ensuring that meals prepared by the chef could be transported seamlessly even while on the move. Additionally, the first home bus carried a car onboard, ready for use in situations where navigating narrower or challenging roads might be necessary.
"I've also booked hotel rooms along the way," Ronald added confidently. "We won't be stuck on the road the entire time. I'm sure this trip will be a blast, especially since you'll still be able to use your time in Immortal Legacy without interruptions. Isn't this just awesome?"
"Yes, Ron," Leon replied. "This is really great. I'm looking forward to it."
With everything prepared, the group finally set off on their journey.
Leon, Freya, and Ronald settled into the second bus, sitting in the middle room near the driver's cabin. The space was cozy, complete with a large television, and they chatted about various topics while enjoying the entertainment.
"It doesn't seem like many top players will join the competition this time," Ronald said with enthusiasm. "Haha, I'm sure it'll be an easy win for us!"
The event Ronald referred to was the first major tournament hosted by the Golden Age Company. Due to teams needing time to assemble their rosters and many players being tied up with commitments outside of gaming, not all top players were able to participate in this inaugural event.
"Wouldn't that make it a bit dull, though, Ron?" Freya teased with a chuckle. "I think Leon would enjoy the chance to face off against some of the best players in the tournament." "Leon..." Ronald said, turning to him with a confident grin. "I'm telling you, this is the perfect chance to establish your reputation. You know that having a good name is the most important thing for top players, right? Hahaha."
He continued, "With a solid reputation, you can attract more sponsors and money. Sure, I can help you make plenty of money already, but wouldn't it be way more exciting to showcase your talents to a larger audience?"
Leon glanced at Ronald. "Gaining a reputation in Immortal Legacy might actually make my life harder. You realize that, don't you?"
Ronald blinked, momentarily caught off guard. "Um... I hadn't really thought about it like that."
Freya chimed in. "No, Ronald, I'm sure Leon's just not really interested in this competition because it doesn't help him advance in the game, right?"
Leon nodded. "Exactly. It'll take up too much of my time and slow down my progress."
Freya smirked faintly, leaning back in her seat.
"No problem," Ronald said confidently. "I'll figure out a way for you to participate in the competition without sacrificing your in-game time. You can count on me."
Leon smiled in relief. "I really appreciate all your efforts, Ron. Thanks for your help."
"That's what I'm here for," Freya added with a grin. "I'll do whatever I can to make this work for you."
The journey took about four hours, a significant stretch of time, but the landscape gradually shifted as they approached the highlands. The towering buildings of the city faded into the distance, replaced by rolling hills and stretches of open savanna on either side of the road.
"The person we're going to meet has a grand house and a vast plot of land! Haha!" He chuckled. "But I don't want to spoil it by telling you who it is. I want you to be surprised when you meet them."
Freya let out a small laugh. "Ron, you're being way too obvious with your hints. Honestly, I'd call you dumb, but at this point, I guess I can't complain."
The half-top of the home bus slid open, transforming it into a panoramic mode that made the journey significantly more enjoyable. They passed through a path lined with towering trees, the sunlight filtering through the canopy in golden streaks. Occasionally, a drone would descend from above, entering the bus with a pack of food and drinks.
Leon sampled the delicacies, savoring the dishes as if they were prepared by a world-class chef.
"I brought the chef from my family's restaurant," Ronald said enthusiastically. "He's the best, and I brought him along just to serve us."
"You really enjoy your privileges, huh, Ron?" Leon responded casually.
"Of course!" Ronald replied. "I'm not ashamed to admit it. That's why I make the most of these privileges to pursue my hobbies. Luckily, my hobby doesn't always waste money. I love business and anything money-related that catches my interest."
As the landscape shifted, they entered a small town and drove along its winding roads before
reaching a path leading into the mountains. Soon, a large gate came into view, guarded by several individuals. The two home buses approached, and the gate opened immediately
without hesitation.
Leon, amused by the seamless entry, asked, "Is this entire area private property?"
Ronald puffed up proudly. "Yes... this is private land," he answered.
"Immortal Legacy has plenty of wealthy players, Leon," Freya remarked. "But it turns out, even having a lot of money isn't enough to make someone a top player."
"But having money can get them the necessary items or weapons, right?"
"Not necessarily," Freya replied. "Even if they have the money, they might not be able to get the items they need. Some materials are incredibly rare, and finding a crafter skilled enough to make the weapon or item is another challenge entirely. So, even wealthy players have to put in the extra effort."
As their conversation continued, the buses rounded a bend, and a grand house came into view. Its pristine white walls and red roof stood tall and imposing. Turrets reached toward the sky, giving the mansion a castle-like appearance, while a meticulously maintained garden surrounded the property.
The iron gate was wide, intricately detailed, and bore a crest at its center. As the home buses approached, the gate opened automatically, allowing them to roll smoothly up the driveway to the house's grand entrance.
"Okay, we're finally here!" Ronald exclaimed.
Leon, who had been quietly curious for a while, found his interest piqued even further. He
still had no idea who they were meeting, and both Freya and Ronald had gone out of their way
to keep it a secret, clearly relishing his confusion and anticipation.
But judging by the sheer opulence of this place, Leon couldn't help but wonder, Who could
possibly own such wealth?
