Chapter 388: Rising ground and crumbling sky
The air seemed to have frozen everywhere as clear clouds of a sunny morning suddenly floated away, replaced by a haze of red that penetrated the empty space. The sun, the light, the air - anything of nature, of creation, seemed to have met its natural enemy and hid in fear.
Amelia's body above the city, her raging scream still echoing in the sky. The shockwave caused by her "Call of Chaos" skill literally destroyed half the city in one attack. Wherever her voice passed, the monsters didn't even have time to scream in pain or cover their ears, they died before even noticing anything.
At the centre of the city, a large area had become a plain open ground. Not leaving any sign of anything behind. The houses, buildings, forests, people or monsters, whatever came into her path of pain, disintegrated from this world, leaving no sign of ever even existing before.
Thunderclouds formed in the sky as abysmal red lightning flew among the clouds. Whenever the lightning fell to the ground it left a charred mark of nearly a mile after burning everything, before the soul shattering crash could even be heard.
Her madness increased again as scenes of people whom she saved getting tortured appeared in her head again, causing her to scream yet again.
The anger finally took full hold of her sanity, as she raised her hand and caught a lightning strike flashing nearby in her palms, and started dancing madly.
Thunderstorms acted as a beat for her in the background, while each thumping of her feet and wave of her hand caused the clouds around her to break and pour a rain of blood in the city. Forming a tsunami of blood that swept away all the sins and sinners alike.
The sight of her doing Taandav (dance style name) while holding thunder in place of a Trident, was enchantingly horrifying to stare at.
Something that could cause one to fall into an illusion before falling to his death. As their brains simply couldn't handle the chaos dancing at her fingertips.
In a matter of minutes the lively city which hosted over several hundred Sirus turned into ruin.
Amy's eyes shone even deeper in red as she noticed how the large tree far away started sucking away all the souls of Sirus still alive in this city. Saving these cruel murderers from her wrath.
"You_you will pay." She said, as the space cracked in front of her, forming an unstable space tunnel.
Unlike other space channels she opens which shine in golden light blue colour, this particular space channel was filled with a chaotic light.
Like she wasn't just using space to manipulate the distance between two points, making a door for her to enter, but using force to crack the very fabric of the cosmos, causing space between those two points to just shrink back and get swallowed in chaos, leading her to reach everywhere with a thought.
Amy raised her hand and with a heavy swing threw the lightning 'trident' directly in the tunnel, watching as the space shrank back and next second a large lightning fell straight on that tree.
The whole city shook several times as the ground seemed to be overturned as an invisible barrier managed to protect the tree by dispersing all of the attack power to the ground.
Watching as her attack failed Amy's anger seemed to have risen another level as she roared once again before directly running towards the tree.
Her steps fell once every couple of hundred metres as space cracked upon contact failing to hold her power. She waved both her hands as lightning gathered in her arms like a long whip.
With each swing of the whip the city below kept getting destroyed, every Sirus getting liberated in chaos. She finally reached within range to that tree and swung both lightning whips directly at the barrier.
The whips would appear and disappear midway, seemingly turning invisible for a second before appearing a little far yet again. This wasn't a spell or skill, it was just the power held in those whips that would crack the space automatically, entering the void, before coming out again under Amy's control.
Chaos, an element said to be created even before the creation of cosmos, was finally showing its full power on this planet which had never even heard of such power.
If not for the barriers made by Rio's system, world system of arcadia around the dungeon, or the goddess of chaos Kali herself, this attack at full display would've alarmed every cultist of chaos, causing them to come after her.
Several floating trees with man-like faces on their shafts came to cover the barrier, and block the attack, but they all died instantly.
The barrier around the sacred tree was shaking violently before the whips even touched it, and when the attack finally landed, as expected it cracked like an eggshell.
A shrill scream echoed in the whole city of Cetum, causing pain in every resident's ears, as an order echoed in the heads of everyone within a 50 mile distance of the city.
(Come home. Rescue. Protect.)
As Amy pulled her hand to swing the whip yet again, every living being in and around the city seemed to have gone insane, rushing towards her at unbelievable speeds.
Souls of dead sirus that the sacred tree absorbed earlier, were sent inside many trees outside the city, which in turn turned them into treant monsters who ran with their roots.
Even the students who went out hunting monsters far away earlier, and were coming back now after feeling the tremors on the ground, had to find a hiding place and protect themselves, as hordes upon hordes of monsters rushed past them, running towards the city in a mad frenzy.
Even Siri, the generous princess, or her entourage of followers and guards, all of them were in a crazy state too. Their eyes filled with tints of green as they all dropped everything and started running towards the city with all their .
The students who tried to be a hero, trying to ask Siri what happened or block her path by 'protecting her from monsters' were killed by her hands without any hesitation. Making them confused, scared and nervous over such a sudden change.
One moment she was smiling like a shy girl, and the next moment she bit a student's arm off when he grabbed her shoulder and asked what happened, before running away while still munching on that meat piece.
Saisha rushed ahead, waving her hands to clear a path and protect her classmates who were still in shock. But even she felt her powers being suppressed.
The connection with nature's element which she always felt proud of , was failing her right when she needed it. Whatever control the sacred tree had over this world, it suppressed her spells, making her unable to exert her full strength. Resulting in the deaths of many students in front of her eyes.
Their deaths and the feeling of helplessly struggling in a losing battle that refuses to end kept bringing snippets of memories in her brain mid battle.
Snippets about her fighting against many humans holding guns and knives, while trying to protect someone who was already on death's door.
She couldn't remember that scene clearly nor see that someone's face past a fog, but she could feel that same feeling of helplessness, the fear of losing someone she loved, and the raging anger in her heart asking her to destroy the world before destroying herself for destroying him.
"I love you, Queency…"
A voice finally came to her ears from the past, as tears trickled down her eyes uncontrollably, she fell to the ground on her knees, before letting out a heartful scream staring at the sky.
For a second the day seemed to have turned into night, and as Saisha's tears touched the ground, it caused a chain reaction that seemed to suck the life out of the whole planet.
Nature all around her started dying. Trees withering until their leaves, branches, and even roots rotted away and flew in the air as dust and ashes.
The army of treants that the sacred tree raised with great difficulty and heavy sacrifice was instantly turned to ashes.
Yet the remaining Sirus's and monsters paid it no heed, as they just kept walking away ignoring the death following their footsteps.
Saisha, in the state of a trance, raised her hand, forming a cocoon that protected the few remaining students inside. Before turning her head to the city's side. Her dark eyes staring right through the distance of dozens of miles and watching the battle happening there.
With steady steps she started walking towards the city, as whatever came into her range of "Nature's death" kept dying in her wake.
By the time she reached the city's gate, only one person was left alive in the incoming large puppet army. Siri, the daughter of tribe, who too was now panting heavily and had lost all the energy and shiny lustre of her youth.
Her body had nearly aged a hundred years, with wrinkled skin barely hanging over her weak bones. Yet she seemed to still feel nothing, as her steps and gaze had never left Amelia who was now fighting against her father, the king Serium.
Serium's whole form had changed, from the original 5 '5 feet handsome elf, he was now like a giant reaching the height of nearly 15-20 feet. His whole body was covered in green veins from head to toe. His arms and legs, chopped off so many times during this battle that he couldn't even restore them to their original condition even with his unbelievable regenerative abilities.
The moment Saisha entered the city, the domain of nature's death came into play, suppressing the seemingly immortal Serium for Amy to slaughter.
The lightning whip tied the giant Serium, making him fall down to the ground with a heavy thud. His great weight causing whole city to tremble in aftereffects.
Amy ignored everything and pressed her feet over Serium's chest, her mastery over space tying him in place, stopping him from getting up again. As she laughed heartily like a mad demon and raised her hand to the sky.
With a sound of thunder, a burning trident made out of chaotic lights heeded her call and appeared in her palms.
"Dieeeee." Amy shouted as she stabbed the trident on Serium's neck, before pulling it up forcefully with both her arms, till the monster's giant head got ripped from his body and flew in the sky.
She let go of her palm with a sneer, watching as the lightning trident followed the cut off head trying to regrow and heal, before colliding together and blasting it to pieces.
Along with the Serium's reluctant scream, his blood poured down , dying amy's whole body red.
Agggayyaa
Amy screamed with her tongue out and shook her head, making her hair which stuck to her skin after being wet with blood and sweat to shake along like crazy, giving her the look perfect for the avatar of chaos.
Though her body was dead tired, worn out over limits after this hectic battle, as blood flowed from her eyes, ears and nostrils, while her throat felt heavy and hoarse after using call of chaos all this time, but her face showed no sign of wisdom or sense to stop this transformation.
Since she finally killed all the enemies, and everyone who took part in this betrayal & messed up event, Goddess Kali, who saw everything from the beginning to end, tried to calm her down.
But just when the clouds of chaos were about to be cleared up, …
(Tap - tap - tap)
Amy turned her head as the sound of slow footsteps became particularly evident in a place where all life got erased from existence.
The chaos which was just about to calm ignited once more, and maybe due to her prejudiced anger which rose in her soul after seeing that face, or her just misunderstanding Saisha as another enemy in her madness, but she raised her hand once more and started running towards her.
The cityscape literally cracked fully this time and plates of grounds started floating away from each other.
On the other hand, Saisha too, who was still in her trance, fighting a battle against experimented human subjects who had no emotions and felt no pain, misunderstood Amy and walked forward to face her.
The battle between chaos and nature finally starts. Guess who'll win?
