Chapter 12: Wakanda, 3600 BCE
Chapter 12: Wakanda, 3600 BCE
[Uganda, 3600 BCE]
We have finished. Done.
Central Africa is cleansed of Deviants. I don’t know how I feel about this to be honest; I’ve spent almost half a millennium killing these deviants, and Africa is now free of deviants…
Well, I’m not going to talk about what I did in central Africa, it’s boring really, just killing deviants, and a lot of jungles… like a lot, so it’s harder to traverse the terrain a bit.
Right now, though, we’re in Uganda, and we’re flying above the ground.
“Where are we going again?” Questioned Thena.
“You’ll see, it’s an interesting place to be honest.” I informed. “And there’s a peculiar metal there.”
“Metal?”
“Yep.” I nodded.
“What kind of metal?”
“The good kind.” I answered, making her snort.
“Stop being mysterious Pluto.”
“It’ll ruin the surprise if I tell you now.”
“It’s annoying.” She added.
I sighed. “Just be patient, we’re almost there.”
We flew towards the north-eastern part of Uganda. This part of Africa has grasslands and jungles once again, so it’s hard to see what’s below the leaves in the jungle part.
We entered the vicinity, and Thena noticed that something is wrong.
“It’s strange…” She murmured.
“What’s strange?” I questioned dismissively.
“I feel like the plants around here are… different… than any other place around here.”
I hummed. “Probably because of the metal.”
“Is it that unique that it’s able to influence the plant life around it?”
“Yes, it’s that unique.”
She looked at me curiously. “I’m more interested now…”
“Well, this’ll be a nice closing trip before going back to the others then.”
We flew to the ground where Wakanda is supposed to be, it looks empty, so the tribes haven’t found the Vibranium yet…
“Good, no guardians.” I murmured, but Thena heard it.
“What guardians?”
I shook his head. “It’s nothing, don’t worry about it.”
In front of us stood a mountain that will be later known as Mount Bashenga, the source of Wakanda’s vibranium.
I smiled at the sight, A mountain of vibranium is in front of me right now.
“So?” Thena asked me. “Where is it?”
“There.” I pointed at the mountain.
“In that mountain?” She asked again.
“Yep.” I nodded.
“So we have to dig it?” She asked again.
“Yep.”
She sighed, and she walked away from me. “You do it yourself then.” She waved her hand dismissively as she sat below a tree nearby, resting.
“Oh, come on, would you help me?” I whined to Thena.
“No, you do it yourself.” She insisted.
This time, I’m the one who sighed. “Fine.”
Now that I think about it… how do I dig the vibranium… shit.
“Let’s see… what animals can dig underground…”
I snapped my fingers, and a bunch of constructs appeared.
“Mole-rats… Meerkats… that’s it…” I sighed. “Can I combine these two animals?” I murmured.
I summoned those two animals, and a construct of a meerkat and a mole rat appeared, they looked really small.
“Can you dig a hole in this side of the mountain?” I asked the two constructs.
The two small constructs looked at the mountain, then shook their heads.
“How about with friends?” I added.
They thought a bit, before nodding.
“Then let’s do that.” I snapped my fingers, and a bunch of mole rats and meerkats constructs appeared in front of me, it’s almost like a sea of golden dolls.
“Alright boys and girls... and non-binary constructs...” I announced as my eyes glowed golden. “Get to work!”
The golden constructs began to move to the side of the mountain, digging straight to the center of it.
I walked to Thena however, who was relaxing near me.
“Well, we just have to wait now.” I said as I sat down near her.
“Mind telling me what the metal is now?” Thena said, looking at my working constructs.
I hummed. “It’s Vibranium.”
Thena is definitely surprised. “You mean the metal that is used for the Celestical’s armour?”
I didn’t know that… “I think so...”
“How do you know that it’s in there?!”
“Camazotz, remember?” I lied.
“You mean that bat that can sense and send vibrations?”
“Yep.”
“What else did you find on this continent?” She snorted. “A body of a Celestial inside the earth?”
I almost choked when she said that, but I know she was just joking, even though deep down she knew that too. “Don’t joke like that.”
She sighed. “Well, how are you going to mine it?”
“I don’t know just yet...”
“Let me help you.”
“Oh you want to help now?” I stated sarcastically.
“It’s Vibranium...”
---
A couple days later, the constructs finally hit the Vibranium deposit, the metal was black and glowed blue, it looked really cool.
“So… how are we going to mine it?” I asked Thena, who is examining the vibranium.
“It really is Vibranium...” she murmured.
“What else is it if it’s not vibranium?” I questioned rhetorically. “Now, are you going to mine it or not?”
She just hummed, and she conjured a weapon that I don’t recognize… wait, that’s not a weapon… that’s a pickaxe…
“A pickaxe? Really?” I questioned, amused that she can conjure a pickaxe.
“Cosmic Energy pickaxe and Vibranium… might work.” She shrugged.
I sighed. “Fine, just try it.”
She then picked up a stance, and struck the Vibranium wall, and it literally shook the mountain.
Not a couple seconds later… a chuck of Vibranium literally fell off the wall.... Well, that worked.
“Huh...” I murmured to the smirking Thena. “Continue then.”
“Now I’m the only one who’s working?” she mused.
“You’re the only one who has the ability.” I shrugged. “I’ll wait outside, bring as much as you can.”
“How do we bring it to the others though?”
“Just use a basket or something, my construct will bring it for us.”
“Fine then,”
And for a whole day, the mountain shook, because Thena is mining Vibranium in it. At the end of the day, we managed to collect around a basket of Vibranium. I told a construct to bring it for us, and we finally got to go to the others.
