Chapter 209: Simian’s DC. 2014 CE
Alexander Pierce watched as hundreds of Thopters appeared out of thin air in the sky, quickly approaching the three helicarriers.
Pierce’s eyes finally saw fear from the sight. “You! Do you realize what you have done!? You have sent your air force to US soil! Practically declaring war!”
“That is not the case, Pierce.” said a voice, entering the room as he spoke. It was Fury, his face all wounded and his arm broken, yet he looked determined, walking towards Pierce quickly, taking out his pistol. “The Zimeran kingdom has a right to send their army to a threat, as long as they have a casus belli.”
“On the approval of the council!” Pierce countered.
“Well, as far as I can tell, the council is not at its best state right now,” said Fury jokingly. He took out a piece of paper, showing it to Pierce. “So we took our own liberty to ask at a UN council instead, privately.”
“Privately?!”
“Yes, like you and your pal have done for decades.” said Fury flatly.
“Director.” Grodd greeted Fury, walking towards Fury, taking the paper from him. “Sorry to bother you with all these formalities.”
“No problem, your majesty.” Fury answered. “Pierce, what are you doing?”
—
Outside, In the sky of Washington DC, a swarm of Thopters suddenly appeared out of thin air, scaring the citizens below.
“Attention, people of Washington DC.” a speaker echoed throughout the city. “This is the Zimeran Kingdom Airforce. We mean no harm, I repeat, we mean no harm. Under the United Nations order, we have been tasked to neutralize a hostile organization that has hijacked three helicarriers. Please, do not exit any building, if you are outside, please quickly enter your own home or go indoors.”
The Thopters quickly surrounded the helicarriers. Simian soldiers jumped from the Thopters, landing on the helicarrier, carrying gatling guns.
On one of the helicarrier, three Simian soldiers were deployed, all with gatling guns. As they dropped to the runway, the asphalt cracked, making it hard for the jets to take off. They utterly decimated the ones who tried to fight back, and they quickly took control of the aircraft, seizing it entirely.
—
Grodd watched from behind the window as his forces overwhelmed the entire three aircrafts. He told the soldiers to not kill the soldiers that surrender, and a lot of them did, so there were many prisoners of war.
“People of DC were anxious by now.” said Pierce as he was tied to the chair. “Foreign army has invaded their city after all.”
“You think?” Grodd smiled. He walked towards a terminal, and began typing there.
“Your majesty, what are you doing?” asked a French councilman.
“Sharing what has happened to this organization to the public,” he said casually.
“But… this is—”
“Public embarrassment? The fact that the security council has been fooled by fascists is too damaging to the reputation?” Grodd continued, stopping any sign of protest. “Don’t worry, councilman, after this, there will be no more SHIELD, and all the blame will be directed to Fury.”
“Pardon?” a councilman asked, turning to Fury.
“Yes. we’ve decided to disband SHIELD.” said Fury calmly. “SHIELD will not be a part of the US anymore, it will be focused solely on world security. The world security council alongside the UN will oversee this new organization, His Majesty King Grodd has authorized the use of Zimeran tech, on condition that all of the nations will be involved, not just the US.”
“On whose approval?” asked another councilman.
“Again. The UN.” said Fury, dropping an entire folder of paperwork on the table. “We didn’t just sit around drinking beer in these two months, councilman.”
One of the councilmen opened the folder, he was about to speak out, but Grodd stopped him.
“The enemy is still in this room, councilman, please refrain from talking about the new organization after all of this is finished.” said Grodd, finally finishing his task. “Done. congratulations, Pierce, the world wants your head.”
“This isn’t over, Grodd.” said Pierce calmly. “When you cut off a Hydra’s head, many–”
“I know the legend, Pierce.” countered Grodd. “Our god made that creature after all…”
—
When the Helicarriers had landed, the prisoners were taken out of it. The US army was waiting on the landing pad, seemingly insulted, yet can’t do anything.
A general walked towards the approaching Zimeran commander, saluting him. “Thank you for your service, commander, we’ll take it from here.”
“General, with all due respect, the prisoners will come with us,” said the Zimeran commander.
“They are all US criminals, commander. We cannot give them to you.”
“We have the right to the prisoners of war, general. I am sorry, but we must bring them to Zimera for further interrogation.”
“Listen commander, this is our soil—”
Suddenly, a man interrupted the general and whispered something to him. The general just clenched his hand, and nodded.
“Very well commander. Thank you for the assistance. We will secure the helicarrier.”
The Zimeran commander nodded. “Thank you for your understanding, general.”
