Master Fu's Beloved Petite Wife Is Calling for Divorce Again

Chapter 76 - Unreasonable

Chapter 76:

Unreasonable

Su Yu’s heart skipped a beat. Her face went white as she looked at her brother. She was about to act cute and dismiss the subject, yet Su Lingan looked daggers at her.

For sure, she had driven him up the wall. So she gave him a played-down description of the event that day, skipping the chase as a whole.

All sorts of feelings welled up within Fu Yunian, his brows creased—did he mean so much to Su Yu that she couldn’t stand watching him being worried?

“If you would please come with me real quick, we’ll be done and over with this as soon as possible if you have nothing to do with it,” Officer Qi laughed.

The cop must have gotten the whole idea wrong because Su Yu saw the eagerness to know all about the juicy details in his eyes.

She didn’t want her brother coming along to the station, for she could handle it alone—she was innocent, after all. But when Lingan threatened to inform their parents, she reluctantly gave in.

By the time they’d reached the station, they had bumped into Lin Sisi’s parents, who were about to take their leave.

“Su! Was it you? I knew you were up to no good when you came to our rescue—we’d even gotten to our knees!”

“You vicious woman! How could you? Give my daughter back! Give her back at once!”

Fury burned in the Lins’ eyes as if they were shooting lasers through them. Instantly, Su Lingan’s body blocked his sister to prevent them from harming her.

“Calm your horses, people,” Officer Qi spoke with a smile, trying to take control of the situation, “I understand you’re very upset about what had happened to your daughter, but you’re now stepping on the police’s grounds. Take heed.” They were familiar with cases like this—resentful families of the victim venting their anger on someone else.

Something stung inside Su Yu. She fixed a cold-eyed stare at the two. “Funny how when I gave up trying to hold your daughter accountable, you weren’t gratified but accused me of kidnapping her the second she’s gone missing. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, eh?”

The Lins were wretched, and their hair turned gray overnight. She almost didn’t recognize them. Though they looked like a mess the last time she saw them, they were still well-dressed. Now, they were unpresentable.

“Hahaha! We’ve exposed you. You’ve never thought of forgiving us, have you? That kindness you’re wearing as a facade—your hypocrisy disgusts me!” Mrs. Lin was on the verge of a breakdown.

Fu Yunian spoke up, “We’re here for your daughter’s missing person case, not to watch your freak show. Wasn’t it only two days? Maybe she’s out there somewhere, getting some fresh air.”

The whole thing was embarrassing to the point that anyone would consider taking their own lives to escape the humiliation, especially Lin Sisi with her low tolerance for handling stress, perceived or actual.

“Can we get going now, officer?” Su Yu got impatient. Her stomach growled, bleeding into subtle pains that weren’t present back when they were at the restaurant. “I haven’t eaten yet.”

Su Lingan immediately caught her discomfort and called for a delivery.

“How sweet of you, Mr. Su. Good eye, Ms. Su,” Fu Yunian mumbled. He didn’t know where that came from, but it was a petty feeling.

Su Lingan gave him a smug little smile. “Thanks.”

Seeing that none of them cared enough about their daughter’s safety, the Lins blew a fuse, and they started yelling at them.
