Chapter 1409  Sisterly Bond

"Why are you both working even now?" "Here comes your tail," said Raelle when she heard Xiang Wai's voice.

Cloe laughed at Raelle's words. But she didn't refute it, she also felt like Xiang Wai had been following her like a tail these days. She did not expect her to come to pick her up today. She was so surprised when she saw Xiang Wai at her family house. Her heroic figure really intimidated her family more than the two bodyguards around her. "We are done with work," answered Cloe to Xiang Wai.

Xiang Wai sighed, "I think you should keep a certain distance from Raelle. She is infecting you with her workaholic virus."

"Oh, so now I'm infected with a virus too?" Xiang Wai rolled her eyes at Raelle, "Little sister, there are plenty of things wrong with you but we still accept it all since we are family. But you should really stop infecting Cloe with your workaholic virus. Let her live her life."

Xiang Wai looked at Cloe who pursed her lips and nodded to agree with Raelle.

Xiang Wai sighed, "I think you both are wrong."

"Oh?"

"Really," replied Xiang Wai. "Today, I asked Cloe what is fun around and we went to a couple of places and had so much fun. Do you know what does that mean?"

"What does it mean?"

"It means that the workaholic virus isn't deeply rooted in her bones yet. Deep down, she is still a lively girl who knows how to have fun. If there is work, then she'll definitely bury herself in work but if she has time, she'll look for some enjoyment too. She certainly knows how to live unlike you whose whole existence revolves around work, work, and work!"

Cloe raised her brow at Xiang Wai in surprise while Raelle looked at Cloe with a thoughtful look in her eyes. She actually didn't think that Cloe was a workaholic like her. She could clearly see the resignation on Cloe's face oftentimes when she had to work overtime. She was someone who was always looking forward to weekends. "Give Cloe some personal time," said Xiang Wai as she pulled Cloe up to leave. "Also, stop wasting time here talking about work. Shouldn't you take advantage of this time to spend it with Shui Xian? You'll have to separate again in a while. Make the best use of this time."

When Xiang Wai took Cloe far away from Raelle, only then did Cloe ask in confusion, "What do you mean by separation? What happened? What did I miss?"

Xiang Wai looked behind her to make sure that Raelle wasn't behind them before telling Cloe what happened last night and how Hyson tricked Raelle into living apart from Shui Xian too. Cloe was also surprised but also ended up laughing with no sympathy.

"I did not think Hyson could play like this."

"I also think I have been underestimating him too much."

"Although I know it's unkind, I still want to laugh some more at this situation. My poor Chief! Who knew she'd have such a day."

"You don't feel bad for her at all, eh?"

"Do you?" questioned Cloe.

Xiang Wai shook her head, "I'm very happy. This feeling of schendenfruede. This feeling of laughing at Raelle's expense is so new and refreshing that I'm still bubbling with wicked joy."

They were so busy laughing that they both didn't notice when Raelle came to stand behind them and heard the last words. Even if she didn't hear the whole conversation, she got the gist of it. She did not find their laughter and eyesore but she did have a feeling of wanting to do something about it.

Was she someone who anyone could laugh at? What was she? A joke?!

Raelle put her fist in front of her mouth and coughed startling the souls out of Xiang Wai and Cloe who froze. They both mechanically looked behind and seeing Raelle, they instantly felt a little cold.

"Having fun, are we?" asked Raelle with no visible emotion. But for some reason, it left the both of them feeling worse.

They did not expect to be caught like this. Raelle didn't even make a sound as she walked and they were so busy laughing that they ignored her presence. They didn't even know how much Raelle listened to. But it didn't matter, she won't let it go anyway.

"Since you both enjoy so much seeing me in trouble, shouldn't I make you happier?"

Both Xiang Wai and Cloe shook their heads like a rattle before holding their hands and running away. "Running away will solve anything?" mumbled Raelle. "I'll find a good time to deal with you both. How dare you laugh at me?"

With this thought, she went to look for Shui Xian. On the other hand, Xiang Wai and Cloe did not dare to stay inside and had actually run into the garden. They only stopped when they found suitable bushes to hide behind. Panting, Cloe said, "We should be safe here. Chief won't condescend herself to run after us to catch us. I don't think we are so valuable in her eyes."

"We'll be safe for now but what about the future? She is petty and holds grudges too," cried Xiang Wai. She slapped her mouth saying, "All evil comes from the mouth. How many times I was told that but I just didn't listen. I deserve this."

Cloe could only pat her shoulder to support her, "You are not alone. And I have it worse since I work under her. She is gonna find time to trip us both in one way or another for laughing at her misery. She won't let this go."

"Should we plead guilty?" suggested Xiang Wai. "Would that help?"

"What do you think?" retorted Cloe.

Xiang Wai sighed, "I highly doubt that it'll be helpful." She sat down on the grass with no image and looked toward the sky that had darkened now. "I just keep getting into trouble with Raelle. It seems I can never build a sweet sisterly bond with Raelle."
