Chapter 9: Demonic beast?
Just as Lady Yun was about to give in to Xian Tian's advances, the sound of the door bursting open startled them both.
From the main door, a feminine sound rushed in.
The sound was scared and nervous.
"Help! A wild beast has attacked the village..."
Lady Yun's expression darkened, clearly jolted back to her senses by the interruption.
She shot Xian Tian a stern glare, her desire quickly fading and replaced by confusion.
"Ah, Sorry... It seems trouble has arrived at the doorstep, I will go check it," Saying that, she quickly got up from the bathtub and blamed herself.
'What was that? How can I? ... Sigh! I am truly disappointed,' she talked to herself.
Meanwhile,
Xian Tian was clearly annoyed by this, however unable to do anything, he could only grit his teeth and clench his fist.
...
As Lady Yun walked outside, she struggled to maintain her composure.
"Roarrrrr-"
Baam!
But a sudden commotion erupted outside the Inn.
The ground shook violently, sending waves of water crashing against the walls inside the bathhouse.
A deep, menacing growl echoed through the air, sending chills down everyone's spine.
"What was that?" She asked, her eyes wide like her hip.
Without waiting for an answer, she rushed outside grabbing one of the second.
A strong, foul stench filled the air.
"It smells like demonic energy," she muttered, her nose wrinkling in disgust.
As she followed the path of devastation, she came upon a large, furry creature with razor-sharp claws and teeth. Its eyes glowed an eerie red, and its body was covered in thick black fur.
It let out another ear-piercing roar before charging directly towards her without any warning.
Seeing this, she had no time to react properly, she just channeled her pure energy, a dazzling golden aura surrounding her body.
Lady Yun's eyes narrowed as she braced herself for the incoming attack.
Swish~
With her pure spiritual energy coursing through her veins, she unleashed a powerful blast towards the rampaging beast, hoping to slow its advance.
"Not so fast, you feral creature!" she cried out, her voice laced with determination.
Baam!
Roarrrr~
The energy bolt struck the beast squarely in the chest, causing it to roar in pain and stagger backward, but it refused to back down.
Gripping the hilt of her sword, Lady Yun assumed a defensive stance, "You've chosen the wrong person,"
She charged forward, her blade glinting in the sunlight as she prepared to engage the monster in close combat.
Meanwhile, Xian Tian could feel his heart pounding in his chest as he listened to the commotion outside.
He desperately wanted to rush to Lady Yun's aid, but he knew he would only get in the way in his current state.
"Damn it!" he cursed under his breath, clenching his fists tightly.
...
As the battle raged on, Lady Yun unleashed a flurry of strikes, her blade becoming a blur as she danced around the beast, seeking openings to land decisive blows.
The creature's size and strength were formidable, but her agility and martial prowess were proving to be a match for its savage onslaught.
"You'll have to do better than that if you hope to outshine me!" she taunted, her eyes narrowing with focus.
Sweat glistened on her brow as she pushed herself to the limit.
Roarrrrr~ grrrr!
With a primal roar, the beast lunged at Lady Yun, its massive claws aiming to rend her flesh from her bones.
Swoosh!
She barely managed to dodge out of the way, feeling the wind from the creature's attack whip past her face like a cinematic scene.
"So close..."
The beast growled menacingly, its yellow eyes fixed on Lady Yun.
"But not enough." the beast said to itself as It charged again, this time using its brute force to try and overpower her.
It was a demonic beast, a demon tiger, capable of speaking.
Lady Yun was forced onto the defensive once more, blocking each of the beast's attacks with her sword while trying to find an opening to strike back.
Clang! Baam!
Bang! Swoosh!
Sparks flew as their weapons collided, the air thick with the scent of burning metal and ozone.
Her heart raced, adrenaline pumping through her veins as she fought for survival.
Just as she thought she might be able to turn the tide of battle, a sudden burst of energy erupted from behind the beast, sending it flying through the air and crashing into a nearby hillside.
As the beast moved out of vision, she saw a familiar figure.
Xian Tian had finally found his courage and used his newly awakened powers to assist Lady Yun in her hour of need.
" Pant* Pant*... Huh? What was that?"
Panting heavily, Lady Yun asked him, only to see him collapse to his knees, clutching his head in pain.
"what! Not now!" she shouted, rushing to his side, seeing him get on his knees.
"You must hold on!... We haven't defeated the beast yet!" she said while she could sense his breath getting weaker.
It's crazy to think that this brat managed to break through and reach the body-refining realm, capable of wielding aura.
Roaaar~
The beast roared in pain as Xian Tian attacked him in 'unspeakable' areas, pain constantly coursing through its body.
Together, they watched as the creature struggled to rise from where it lay, its injuries clearly severe but not fatal.
"We can't let it escape," Lady Yun said grimly, helping Xian Tian to his feet.
"We must finish this... Young Master, take a short rest here, while I go and kill it," saying that her eyes turned cold.
In the next instance, her body was covered in a red aura, while the sky turned dark.
"Celestial Lightning - Divine retribution!"
