Chapter 238 - The Staring Game
"What I meant to say was that I am fine. I can still eat and make jokes, that is the evidence to show you that I am ok so let the issue go. If it was back in Central City, I would have made sure he and the mastermind paid dearly for this but we are in another country," Jasmine said as she beckoned him to sit down.
"If you want me not to feel wronged then you guys should play a game with me. I am sure I will immediately forget the incident if all of you agree to play a game with me," Jasmine tried to take advantage of her condition.
"Ok, I will do whatever you want," Jackson agreed to the amazement of everyone.
"Ice Prince has agreed to play a game with me so what about you guys?" Jasmine asked as she brought back her attention to the others.
"Since JK had agreed, how could we say no," Jeff said in a pitiful tone. He knew that since Jackson has fallen for Jasmine's tricks, that means that they were at her mercy. He silently wished that the game would not be something very naughty.
."Let's go then," Jasmine said in excitement as she tried to stand up but Jackson quickly stood up and assisted her.
"Why does it feel like JK is no longer concealing his feelings and I also noticed that they have gotten a lot closer," Jeff said in low tones after Jasmine and Jackson were already sitting at the couch.
"I also noticed the same thing and the most surprising thing is that Jasmine seems to be cool with the way he is treating her as his Queen. I wonder what happened between them when they had dinner together," Steve said as he stole a secret glance at the two people sitting on the couch while talking to each other. Evelyn despite being aware that Jackson has confessed his feeling to Jasmine kept quiet.
"Just before the dinner, Jasmine was furious at Jack but right now they look like newlyweds who just came back from their honeymoon. Judging from the bouquet of rose, I am sure something serious must have happened which...,"
"What are you guys whispering about? Aren't you guys coming so we can play the game now," Jasmine shouted after them? Jeff had no choice but to pause what he wanted to say. The three of them joined the others at the centre table.
"Let's play the....,"
"Staring game," Evelyn interrupted whatever Jasmine wanted to say.
"What kind of game is that? It sounds boring," Jane replied frowning to show her disapproval.
"Would you rather play Jasmine's game then? I can bet with you that you will regret it if you choose to play her game," Evelyn said sternly. Everyone was on the same page with Evelyn.
Everything about Jasmine was full of naughtiness so they would rather play a game Evelyn chooses than partake in the one chosen by Jasmine.
"So, what is your game about? How do we know that it is not something naughtier than the one that should have been chosen by Jasmine?" Jeff asked suspiciously. He knew that Evelyn was not as innocent as she tried to portray at the moment. She is as naughty as Jasmine so why should he trust a game chosen by her.
"I know I can be naughty at times but there is a married couple among us. They are not naughty like us so I would definitely put their feelings into consideration. If it was just us, I know what game I would have suggested we played but....,"
"Do you mean games like the truth and dare? I wanted to say that we should play that too but you interrupted me. Hearing some people's dirty secrets and even daring people to do naughty stuff would have been so exciting, I am sure of that," Jasmine said grinning wickedly.
Thank goodness she interrupted you. you are my best friend but I am scared of you sometimes. I am scared of what you would have asked us to do.
Catherine thought feeling very relieved.
"We will play your game if it is not late after we completed Evelyn's game. You have to sleep early to recover don't forget that," Jackson said to the surprise of everyone. The way he spoke casually made everyone think that maybe he was not with his right senses. If he was in his right senses he wouldn't have agreed to Jasmine's demand, that is what they all believe.
"Really?" Jasmine asked with an excitement-filled tone. Jackson was taken aback when she hugged him out of the blues.
"You are the best," Jasmine said as she gave him a thumbs up.
"Does that friend of yours knows what he is getting himself including all of us into?" Catherine asked Jeff sitting beside her. The poor guy was as stunned as she was.
"I believe he doesn't. I believe seeing that cute and playful side of hers every day has made him forget that he is in love with the city most dreaded woman, Jasmine Avans," Jeff replied as he turned to stare at the giggling lady.
"Since Ice Prince has given me his word then go ahead and tell us what your game is about. Don't forget we still have to play my game. We can't afford to waste any time," Jasmine said as she sat on the couch with her legs folded.
"The game is quite easy. It involves two partners and it must be a male and a female. The man and woman will both stare into the eyes of each other while being timed. The one who has the highest time is the winner and the losers must get a gift for the winners tomorrow," Evelyn explained in a calm tone. Hearing her explanation, they all thought that it was a simple game not knowing that it was harder than they thought.
"In the process of being timed, are we allowed to look away to take a break?" Elizabeth asked the same question which was in everyone's mind.
"Those who looked away or miss eye contact with his or her partner automatically lost the game," Evelyn said seriously.
