[Congratulations to Player Tall and Mighty for assisting Sanhei’zi in repairing the bridge connecting to the Pantheon Continent. You will receive a system reward of 30 Gold Coins, Reputation Value with various major cities +300 points, and the special title, “The Pathfinder”.]
[The pathway toward the world is now opened. All players can now enter the world and start your adventure via the “Great Novice Village Bridge”.]
“F*ck!”
Li Yi who had just retrieved a bunch of materials from the warehouse was utterly stunned by the scarlet red words appearing in the system. He could not believe his eyes.
Tall and Mighty, wasn’t that Chen Yang’s In-Game Name? To think that he would be the first player to open the Pantheon Bridge?
‘What a joke, just him... Is that even possible?’
Regardless of race or class, all Novice Village players would receive a shared quest to help NPC Sanhei’zi to repair the bridge connecting the village to the world.
This was a very simple quest. What all players needed to do were to search for the randomly spawned quest item, Wooden Log, and deliver it to Sanhei’zi.
Every time they delivered a Wooden Log, they would receive one point of bridge building progress out of a total of 200 points. In other words, the player needed to find 200 Wooden Logs to complete the quest.
This quest can be done by anyone but cannot be done in a group. Only the first player to complete the quest fully would obtain the system rewards. After the bridge had been opened, other players can continue to search for Wooden Logs. However, other than getting some EXP, there would not be any other rewards.
All 200 Wooden Logs can be found randomly spawned in the surroundings of the Novice Village. It would not be hard to find one of them, but to find 200 of them is a different story. If you did not have the luck and in the current environment where there were more players than creatures, it was a nearly impossible task.
Li Yi had looked into it before. For the opening World Bridge quest, it was completed on the fifth day of the game’s launch by a Dwarf Thief named Vishnan.
He only told Fatty to change his class so who would have known that this had completely affected the progression of the game?
Although the unique “The Pathfinder” title did not have any practical functions, with that title on display, you would be in the limelight no matter where you go.
“Fatty really made a name for himself this time.”
The World Bridge quest in the Novice Village was under a Shared Cooldown. This was similar to the settings on the Wild Boar King Boss, no matter which player defeated which Wild Boar King in the Novice Village, all the other Novice Village Wild Boar Kings would all instantly disappear.
A Shared Cooldown meant that if one person had completed it, then everyone would have the Novice Village Bridge instantly open!
Li Yi did not contact Chen Yang as he had more important matters at hand. With Fatty’s ostentatious attitude, this was not the best time to contact him.
He might even be chatting with numerous chicks who were admiring him!
The red light in his hands continued to flash and arrows were being created non-stop. At the point where all his materials had run out, Li Yi’s Beginner-Level Arrow Crafting Skill finally reached 3000/3000.
He had finally mastered it. Next, he needed to get an Intermediate-Level Arrow Crafting Skill Tome.
He went back to the Novice Village and randomly accepted a bounty quest. After it was completed, Li Yi successfully raised his level to Level 10.
Level 10 was like a whole new beginning. Not only would you learn new skills but also enter the first Instance Dungeon of King of Pantheon, and the Frost Labyrinth to obtain even better rewards.
“Young Hero, your leveling speed amazes me, I believe that in the near future, a word of your name and your accomplishments shall spread through the Pantheon Continent.”
“Mentor, I wish to learn Pet Mastery.”
Li Yi interrupted the Archer Skill Mentor Rena’s constant praise toward him and went directly to his point.
“My apologies, if it was not for your reminder, I would have forgotten the skills that the Archer class could learn at Level 10.” Rena smiled apologetically.
Li Yi was speechless. The NPCs in King of Pantheon had extremely high intelligence thus they could often make some humanized actions.
Just like this current situation, if Li Yi did not take the initiative to remind her about it, he might never be able to get Rena to voluntarily teach the skill unless he had an extremely high friendship rating with Rena.
“I have three skills here for you to choose from – Chain Arrows, Spike Trap, and Pet Mastery. You can only choose one, so please choose wisely as your choice will affect your development in the future.”
“I select Pet Mastery.” Li Yi did not even hesitate.
[Congratulations, you have learned Pet Mastery, 1 Skill Point has been expended.]
Pet Mastery allowed you to tame monsters with a lower level than you, turning them into your combat partner.
“Finally done with it.”
Looking at the flashing Pet Skill icon flashing in his Skill Pane, Li Yi’s mood lit up.
In King of Pantheon, there were eight races and eight Classes. Out of the eight Classes, all of them had three different upgrade paths. For example, the three upgrade paths for the Archer class were the Pet Path, Assassination Path, and Trap Path.
An Assassination Archer’s playstyle revolved around burst potential. The damage dished out by their skills were extremely high, looking for instant kills. For a masterful Assassination Archer, his or her burst potential is even more absurd than an Assassination Thief.
A Trap Archer was just as the name implied where he or she was proficient in using a wide array of traps with abnormal statuses to defeat targets.
As for a Pet Archer, he or she was just a conventional archer, but they worked together with their pets in combat.
These three Upgrade Paths did not represent three different Classes. As an Archer, you can freely learn any skill from all three Paths, of course, with the prerequisite that you had enough Skill Points.
From Level 10 onward, for every level up a player reached, the player would receive a Skill Point. Learning a new skill would expend a point, but the absurd part of it was that each skill had a level cap of 20 points.
In the case of Li Yi’s Level 1 Pet Mastery that he expended 1 Skill Point to learn, it could only be used to capture one Monster Type, the Small Wild Boar. If he wanted to capture other monsters, he had to level up Pet Mastery.
The Pet Mastery Level Cap is Level 20. If you wish to fully max out this skill, the player needed not learn any other skills before Level 30.
Learning Chain Arrows allowed you to instantly shoot out two arrows, dealing damage worth 110% of your attack. However, the skill Cooldown was 20 seconds. Spike Trap would set a trap on the ground in front of you, and enemies who stepped into it would gain the status Bleed. The Cooldown for it was also 20 seconds.
The skills of all three paths were decent but at the early stages of the game when everyone was not well-equipped and if they had a pet by their side, it obviously reaped more advantages than others.
Li Yi did not go to the Novice Village to hunt Small Wild Boars. There were more players than monsters in the barley field right now, so the moment a Small Wild Boar spawned, it would be instantly killed. On the other hand, using the Pet Mastery skill required a 10-second channeling time so he would not even get the chance to take action.
Luckily, thanks to Chen Yang, the World Bridge connecting them to the Pantheon Continent had been opened. Li Yi knew of another place where Small Wild Boars can spawn, and no one would interrupt him in that place.
Frost Labyrinth Instance Dungeon!
