Chapter 30 Arachne Dungeon
After leaving the newbie town amidst the gaze of numerous players, Lei Zhen and Tang Qiaolian arrived smoothly at their destination.
There are some players wanting to ambush them. However, when they realized the identity of Tang Qiaolian, any evil intention was wiped out from their minds.
As wise people, they simply hid and waited patiently until Tang Qiaolian had left. They are seeking profits and not trying to court death which could potentially result in their own gears dropping.
Of course, Tang Qiaolian had long noticed the group of ambushers, but given how clever they were to not make a move, she ignored them and continued to chat with Lei Zhen.
Ambushing others in Magnolia was a common occurrence, and those who are weak would be bullied. Such is the law of survival of the fittest.
pαndα`noνɐ1--сoМ 'Sigh, I should have been a bit low-key. Now the enemies are too afraid to launch an attack.' Tang Qiaolian shook her head in dismay.
Originally, she wanted some fools to attack them so that she could retaliate and loot their equipment for Lei Zhen.
However, people are too clever nowadays and wouldn't be courting death like some third-rate villains.
Breathing out a soft sigh, Tang Qiaolian stopped her footstep, just right in front of the dungeon entrance.
"Welp, seems like my back is going to break." She said, stretching her arms left and right.
Meanwhile, Lei Zhen raised an eyebrow in confusion.
Why would her back break?
Seeing the confused expression, Tang Qiaolian snickered and whispered, "Isn't it because someone is a level 1 noob and has no combat experience whatsoever? I'm going to have to exert 80 to 90 percent of my energy to carry you up."
"..."
As hurtful as those words might sound, Lei Zhen knew it was the truth.
After all, he was indeed level 1 and barely had any combat experience unless you count being chased by a group of monsters as one.
"Alright, you're the party leader anyway. I shall listen to you given that you're the veteran player," Lei Zhen said and raised his hand up in surrender.
"Heh, at least you know who's the boss here."
"Can we begin now?"
"I was just about to start it," Tang Qiaolian shrugged and clicked "yes" on the system prompt that appeared.
Bzzzt
Soon, the two of them turned into light particles as they vanished from the entrance. And the moment they appeared, they were placed in a dark cave environment.
Ding!
[Player Beautiful Heiress and Player Lei Zhen have entered the Arachne Dungeon]
[Difficulty: Hard]
[Recommended Level: 45]
"Is this really a dungeon suitable to be near the newbie town?" Lei Zhen was dumbfounded when he saw the difficulty mode and recommended level.
The newbie towns are designed for beginner players and allow them to get accustomed to the game mechanism. Yet the dungeon seemed to be trying to achieve the opposite effect.
"Who knows what the game designer wants? Magnolia is different from the other games, Lei Zhen. It doesn't follow the norms of what a game should be at all. Hence, this is why everyone loves to play Magnolia- the excitement and fresh storyline."
"I couldn't agree more…" Lei Zhen muttered, feeling the traumatic experience he received before was no joke.
After getting rid of his initial shock, Tang Qiaolian proceeded to explain the strategy they will use to defeat the Arachne Dungeon.
"I've already done some research, and the boss is called Little Arachne Spider. It has a health point of 30k and uses three abilities, silk shooter, poison stab, and gas field."
"I suppose there's going to be a rage mode phase as well, right?" Lei Zhen asked, seeing how Tang Qiaolian was pausing her words and making a teasing face.
Clasped!
Tang Qiaolian clapped her hands together and smiled lightly, "Congratulations, Lei Zhen. You are finally not an ignorant player for once."
"Can you just stop teasing a newbie? I might be lacking information, but I'm not slow-witted to not know common sense."
"Says the one that uses his real name as his in-game name. Very intelligent of you."
"It's because of an error. I did not choose this username."
"That's what the typical loser would say. Always the game system's fault and other things. Never once would they admit their own fault." Tang Qiaolian snickered and shrugged her shoulders.
Before Lei Zhen could even respond, Tang Qiaolian had equipped a sword that had two blades on the same hilt. She then equipped a golden shield on her left hand, alongside a full-body armor suit.
"Oh right, my class is Starfall Moon Knight." She casually said once she detected Lei Zhen's gaze.
Starfall Moon Knight is similar to the Knight class that the player chooses from the beginning. However, the stats and abilities they wield are two different categories.
Starfall Moon Knight is an advanced tier from the Knight class, making them far superior to the latter.
"No wonder why you were confident in this dungeon. You're a tier 2 player." Lei Zhen commented.
The moment when Tang Qiaolian had equipped her gears, her aura changed completely. She was emitting a powerful aura and one that belonged to a pro.
Currently, Magnolia only has 2 tier classes available with tier 2 being the highest grade, and to reach tier 2, one must achieve level 100 in their tier 1 class and complete an advancement quest.
It might sound simple, but the task of reaching level 100 is difficult since the experience points required increase by a large margin each time.
At the same time, each advancement quest is different and complex, making it impossible to have a guide on how to advance their tier.
Looking at the shiny gears from Tang Qiaolian, Lei Zhen subconsciously glanced at his [Novice Set] and his level 1 status.
'A mere Globin Mob only granted me 2 exp points. How am I supposed to even reach level 100?' He thought to himself.
"Enough dilly-dallying, Lei Zhen. The monsters have appeared already." Tang Qiaolian shouted as she raised her sword at their back, indicating the monsters had spawned.
