67 Chapter 0067
I just got assisted by the spirit of the earth.
'And I was wondering why everything is happening on its own.'
It turns out my weird symbols, my heartfelt chanting and everything else created a situation where the spirit of the earth itself was summoned.
"Let's leave it for now."
I picked the bottle of the essence and ran straight towards Jeze's grave.
"Let's do this."
I used Night Alchemist's elemental control and flattened the ground back to how it used to be.
I took out the egg from my inventory and placed it right above Jezebeth's grave.
'So, should I directly use the skill? There is no chant…'
"I think you should add an enhancement alchemy circle just in case…?"
~~I agree.~~
Ena suggested and Bloodsong agreed. An enhancement circle was one of the most basic alchemy circles and it had the effect of boosting chances and buffing an ally by a bit for a few minutes. The only drawback that it had was it lasted only for a minute before the circle would disappear, and it took the user's mana to draw it.
Using the alchemy pen, I drew a huge enhancement circle around Jeze's grave and mana seeped out of my body through the pen.
'Good thing mana recovers so fast here.'
The soul nourisher skill needs 99% of the user's mana and 50% of their health. And I didn't know what would happen if I didn't have enough mana to fulfil that condition, and neither did I feel like checking to know it. I couldn't afford failure here.
Just after a minute or so, my mana was fully healed.
—-Haah!
Here goes nothing.
'Soul Nourisher, activate.'
I said as I pointed out my hand towards the egg. For a second, nothing happened, just when I was feeling puzzled.
[You've entered a mana exhausted state.]
[There is no known resistance to this condition.]
—-Zzzoooomm!
A huge amount of energy, unlike anything I had ever seen before, left my body through my hand in an instant, making me flop to the ground limply, powerless.
The energy had a mix of blue and green colour to it and it hovered on the egg like a cyclone.
The energy, which I guessed to be a mixture of my mana and health, started turning into various shapes. From a dragon to a rabbit, it converted itself into various things before eventually turning into a beam of light that headed straight upwards.
I lifelessly followed the beam of light with my eyes as for the first time, I was able to make out the 'sky' of the abyss.
Does it actually have its own sky? Due to the lack of stars, all you'd be able to see was endless darkness.
After going higher and higher into the sky, the beam of light finally halted, just a second later, it turned into a light javelin and started falling from the sky at a breakneck speed.
—-Swish!
The javelin hit straight at the egg and dispersed into particles of light as the particles slowly settled down on the ground.
~~This is the part where you need to tell who's soul needs to be revived.~~
Bloodsong's hurried voice broke me out of my stupor as I started the chanting, barely able to squeeze out words due to how exhausted my body was.
"Oh the almighty Gaia, I seeketh thy assistance in guiding the soul of mine own belov'd backeth into its m'rtal corse. I pleadeth to thee and off'r thee mine own owneth blood."
I took out Eclipse and made a cut on my palm, making my blood directly flow onto the circle.
Weirdly enough, not a single drop of it landed anywhere outside the circle as the blood ran through the incantations that I had made, turning the whole enhancement circle red.
—-Cough! Cough!
"Shura!"
I started coughing wildly due to the continuous loss of health and lack of mana to stabilise it. A worried Ena held me with her hand.
Finally, the enhancement circle also lit up, with my blood moving around it like small worms. The circle started spinning and let out a brilliant light, making the beholders of the light close their eyes on instinct.
Half of the blood travelled straight into the egg while the other half seeped into the ground.
"....?"
[Soul nourisher has been enhanced due to the enhancement circle.]
[The Mystic Seed is evolving!]
[The Mystic Seed has successfully evolved!]
[You have gained a new pet!]
[The pet is going through another evolution due to the effect of brilliant nourishment!]
"..."
[The scattered half of the soul nourisher has been guided towards the ground with Gaia's help.]
[Half of your blood offering has been guided towards the ground.]
[The body of the deceased is being reconstructed with the help of Gaia.]
[Your blood, health and mana are seeping through the reconstructed body.]
[The scattered sparks of soul nourishment have succeeded in gathering and nourishing the soul of the deceased.]
[The lost soul has been united from its body.]
[The soul is too strong for the body of an ogre, commencing race evolution.]
[The ogre, 'Jezebeth' has evolved into a Kijin.]
[The Kijin 'Jezebeth' has been revived back to life.]
[You have committed a forbidden act, complete revival of the dead.]
[Complete revival is against the laws of nature.]
[Gaia, the spirit of the earth has pardoned you of your sin.]
[Complete revival is against the laws of heaven.]
[The Goddess of the central continent, Aphrodite, has pardoned you of your sin.]
[You are the first player and the second person to have succeeded in complete revival.]
[Achievement unlocked: Monarch of Revival.]
[Rewards: +15 Undying.]
[Your undying stat had a breakthrough, the skill 'Necro…..]
[....]
"..."
A lot of notifications passed in front of my eyes, and I lost track of them halfway through it.
'My head hurts.'
And what was even going on? I had no idea, and nor did I have enough mental health to think it through.
'I guess this is what they call magic exhaustion?'
I am sure there would be notifications explaining my situation, but well, my eyes were too heavy to go through them, and my brain was too dizzy to comprehend anything.
The last thing I remembered before falling asleep was the soft feeling on the back of my head and on my forehead.
***
"What's going on…."
"Sir, honestly speaking, I have no idea. It's a weird combination of different chance encounters that he was able to revive her."
Terry Corbyn and Jacob Eves were currently talking as they looked at the projection of Shura.
"I am not talking about that."
Terry sighed as he gently rubbed his temples. He felt like the game was going way out of his control, something which he didn't like. But he wasn't allowed to control it either, his own honour and the words of the man due to whom [Mayhem] was made possible bound him to not take action and let the world take its course.
"Creation, what is that creature? Why are its stats unavailable right now?"
[Replying to your query. That creature is an old being which is supposed to have been born alongside. This is the first time it has taken a physical form and appeared. There are 3 of such creatures made in the settings. The creature is still in its infant form due to being new to its physical body, which resulted in the lack of stats.]
"What is wrong with this Shura guy?"
[Pardon me, I don't have an answer to that.]
"I wasn't asking you either!"
Terry sighed again as he stared at the screen in front of him.
'I hope everything goes well at the competition…. Did I make a mistake in inviting him?'
Terry just shook his head at that. He wasn't the type to regret his decisions…. Until recently.
