More than a dragon Warrior

First girl

First girl

[Tai Lung's POV]

I concealed myself using Master Chameleon's technique and sneaked up behind her but I did not get the reaction I wanted as her mask hid her face.

Annoying.

Why was she wearing such clothes in the first place? Doesn't she feel hot?

I wouldn't know cause I have fur and she probably has none. Maybe there was a difference in how we respond to this kind of temperature.

"You, were you stalking me?" She asked me loud and clear. It left me dumbfounded.

Maybe it was because of her audacity or maybe it was because of the wronged tone in her voice that made me pause.

Did she really just say that when I clearly felt her making a beeline towards me first?

"I'm talking to you here." She said loudly for all to hear. This time, I paused because of her pretty voice. It was soft and calming like a breeze. You could tell that she was beautiful just from her voice.

If this was my past world, she probably could've made a career out of her voice alone - make those ASMR videos and such.

It was also because of her voice that everyone in the restaurant turned their attention towards us. The males, especially were eager to make a move as they twitched in their seats. Different worlds or not, males were always eager to save a pretty lady from trouble and act as the hero.

"No, I was not stalking you. Just wanted to say hi to a fellow snow leopard." I said but she rebuked me.

"Liar. You were following me like I was a female in heat. I saw you." She accused me. I was more intrigued than offended as I raised my eyebrow.

"Please! Don't touch me!!" She said in helpless protest and pushed me before slipping away from me. She said not to touch her and it would've been awkward if I tried to stop her.

But still, I turned around to follow her.

"Hey, wait a second-" I was cut off as I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"Let her go, buddy. I know you guys are the same species and everything but she is clearly not interested." I turned my head to look at him. The stupid hand was attached to Water Buffalo who stood at least a foot taller than me.

The hero has appeared.

I saw the girl slowly walking backwards from the corner of my eyes. She was moving towards the other exit of the restaurant - the same door I used to enter the restaurant and get behind her before.

So that was what she was trying to achieve by causing a commotion. Clever.

But I didn't like it.

"Get your hands off me." I said and I hoped my voice held enough edge to make him understand that he was in a dangerous situation.

Alas, most hope gets squashed by reality.

"Or what-" He did not finish his words as I grabbed his hand, twisted it and swept his feet so that his arm would not be broken.

But he spun in the air and crashed headfirst on the floor.

I pushed back his wrist and threatened to break it if he moved again.

The other customers immediately got up from their seats and cautiously approached me. They eyed me carefully and it seemed conflict was unavoidable.

All the while the girl reached for the door.

"You guys don't know who I am, do you?" I said with a shake of my head, "I advise you all to at least notice people who can kill you effortlessly, no matter where you are."

"Most people like that are not as kind as me." I said and released a burst of Conqueror's Haki that shook the whole building.

The wooden floor cracked under my feet even as I tried to control my power There was a violent tremor for a moment before it stopped as suddenly as it started.

Everyone's eyes rolled back and turned white as their jaw fell in a gaping silent scream. Then they fell down, unconscious.

None of them were worthy to stand in the presence of a Supreme King.

'Well, everyone except her.' I thought to myself as my eyes drifted towards the girl who was frozen near the exit.

She did not move as I slowly walked towards her. My steps were loud in the sudden silence of the restaurant. When I reached her, I closed the door which she was opening.

"You didn't expect me to react that way did you?" I asked.

She turned to me and from my angle, I could see her eyes. They were a soft blue, like light snow but they appeared greyish in the dark.

"I just want to talk." I said.

She did not give me a reply, only staring at me with those orbs which looked like they had seen much they hadn't desired.

"I swear I was not sent by the Empire to kill you in an elaborate plan." She said.

So she was sent by the Empire.

I figured such a special specimen wouldn't just suddenly come into the city, search for me and do all the things she had done till now.

But an elaborate plan to kill me? I chuckled out loud.

Many have tried, and all of them failed. What makes this small Empire different?

"That's great then. Now, shall we go somewhere else before the guards come?" I asked and she nodded.

Then we both left the restaurant and we went somewhere a little private. I had an almost perfect map of the city by now - because again, a warrior and general must be aware of the geographical environment of his enemy - so I was easily able to lead her to the place I wanted.

The inn where I was staying.

My room was one of the most extensive ones in Shigatse and also quite spacious and luxurious with its own kitchen and bathroom. It was more like a rented house or a suite rather than a room.

It also provided good privacy.

"You want to take off all those fabrics and mask?" I asked her as we entered my room.

She froze for a fraction of a second before she shook her head. A big no.

"Whatever suits you." I shrugged and closed the door and locked it.

(A few minutes later)

"So you're telling me, your family line has been blessed with this kind of chi since long ago." I said to her as we sat across each other on the table.

She said she was born with a chi like that instead of my first conclusion which was that she had secret training or used a specific kung fu to achieve her unique chi.

For a moment I thought Tibet might have a unique power system never before seen in China.

"Does it have anything to do with the fact that you are not fully a snow leopard?"

"What?" She responded in surprise. Almost fearful.

"I said does it have anything to do with the fact that you are not fully a snow leopard." I asked again.

"..Yes." She said, awfully hesitant.

I hummed in thought.

One thing I noticed quickly was the fact that she seemed to be conscious that she was human. That also seemed to be why she was hiding her body.

I didn't know what all of that was about but I assumed being a human was not good. Considering that they were always enslaved and maybe it also came with great discrimination.

I wouldn't know exactly how the people responded to humans but maybe it's bad enough that she was extremely reluctant to reveal it. I wouldn't know because we never had a human appear in China.

But then she said her special chi was related to her being a human. I never read such a thing in Oogway's scroll.

So a new knowledge that even Oogway was unaware of?

That put a smile on my face. I was going to know more than him.

"So what can you do with your chi?" I asked. If her chi was not the result of training, what could it do?

She stayed silent. She didn't want to share it.

But under my gaze and knowing she couldn't do anything against me, she spoke.

"I can do this." She said and picked up a spoon before bringing it up. Then she slammed it on the table with all her stregth.

The spoon did not break and instead, it left a dent on the wooden table.

"You made it sturdier," I said with shining eyes of curiosity.

You could enhance your own body with chi but it was impossible to do so other than that. You can't strengthen your weapon or armour, else everyone would have done so and the quality of your weapons wouldn't matter much.

"Interesting." I said and observed the wooden spoon.

I was not sure how it worked yet but different theories were already swirling in my head. But one question appeared in my mind.

"If you can enhance other objects, can you do the same for other people?" I asked and she shook her head.

"I can only do so for inanimate objects. The living's chi has a consciousness of its own, it follows the person's will so I can't affect them." She said.

A pity but still remarkable with this alone. If she enhanced cannon balls, maybe we could mass produce them by using cheaper and weaker materials but enhancing it to be still as strong as metal. That would save tons of resources.

"Are the effects permanent?"

"No."

"How long can they last?'

"it depends on how much effort I put into it. They can last for a minute, or a few days." She said.

"Fascinating."

There were so many questions in my mind. She said that she couldn't affect living beings because they have consciousness and a will of their own, but what if the people wanted to be affected by her? What if they want to be enhanced?

But most importantly, how does it work? Can I also do the same thing?

So many questions.

...

...

"I have decided." I started and looked at her, "You will be staying with me from now on."

"What? No! You can't do that!" She said and slammed her hands on the table while standing up.

"Who's gonna stop me? You?" I asked.

"That's kidnapping! The guards will catch you." She said and I looked at her as if she was dumb.

She knew who I was. From the first time we met, she realized exactly who I was. Not to mention, she was sent by the Empire to kill me or something like that.

It would be unwise to let someone like her go. She was weak and the Empire could never kill me, sure but I was not very fond of giving people the opportunity to try and kill me.

So since I knew she was an enemy, wouldn't it be wise to keep an eye on her?

As the saying goes, keep your friends close and your enemy closer.

Besides, there were many things I wanted to learn from her. She would become my personal lab rat from which I would learn new applications of chi.

She stood still and slowly realized the stupidity of her words.

"Sit down." I said and she sat down with an embarrassed huff.

"Whats your name?"

"Mei."

"Then I look forward to our time spent together Mei. Don't worry, i will let you go after I get what I want." I said.

She grumbled under her breath, cursed even.

Eventually, she sighed and seemed to give in to her bad luck. She took out a silver bell from her cloak and held it in her hands.

Then she shook it, the bell let out a small jingle.

*Ting-Ding-Ding*

??

..Thats a weird sound.

??

She put away her bell but this time, instead of hiding it she hung it on her belt.

"What's that?" i asked.

"Its a good luck charm my father gave me. I figured I needed it since someone decided to kidnap me." She accused me with narrowed eyes.

I scoffed.

"Whatever, so more about what you can do. Let's say if the person is willing, would you be able to affect it like you did the spoon?."

And thus, started my days with Mei, the first girl I met in this world.
