Chapter 133 - Pulled Her Into His Embrace
A few days later, An Jun announced that they had found the driver who drove the truck that night. However, unfortunately, it was only his corpse that was found.
It had been more than three weeks he had died, so his corpse had started to smell.
When his family members came to see the corpse, they cried their eyes out. Mo XiaoXiao, his wife said that her husband was just an elementary teacher in the next door town while she saw just a launderer.
When she was interrogated, she said Bo Yeije, her husband sent a huge amount of money into her account three weeks ago and since then she had not heard anything from him.
An Jun found it suspicious- Bo Yeije was just a teacher who earned very low monthly, but all of a sudden got three million Yuan after Jingyi Wang's accident.
When his account history was checked, they found out that the huge amount was sent to his account from abroad.
Who could be abroad that wants Jingyi Wang's life so badly?
---
Zhi Ruo and her brother came to visit Xiao li at the hospital and brought in fruit for her. Xiao li explained the situation to them and Zhi Yuan found it suspicious.
After they left, Xiao li ate dinner and decided to take a walk out.
Because it was the weekend, the street was busier and lively than usual. She reached out her hand and lowered the baseball cap on her head to cover her face.
Since she was already famous, it would be safer if she didn't let anyone see her. With her hands tucked in her jacket pocket, she walked slowly amist the crowd.
At that moment, a sweet smell of glutinous rice ball soup entered her nose and she paused in her footsteps. She turned her head towards the shop where the soup was sold and saw a lot of people in front of the shop waiting for their turn to be attended to.
In an instant, she remembered when she asked Jingyi Wang to buy her the glutinous rice ball soup.
'Was this how he stood in the queue to buy the food for her?'
As she thought of how Jingyi Wang must have stood in the queue for long, her heart tightened and she felt a lump jump into her throat. She felt as if it was becoming harder for her to breathe.
She reached out to tug at her jacket several times, but she couldn't get rid of the feeling.
Tears welled up in her eyes. However, she tilted her head up to stop the tears from rolling down her face.
At that time, a little figure bumped into her and she swayed. "Sorry, Sorry" She heard the delicate, sweet voice rang out in her ears.
When she turned, the kid had ran towards his parents and was now in his father's arm. It seems like his father was reprimanding him for running away, then he planted a kiss on his forehead and rubbed his hair affectionately.
Perhaps, it was because of the kid's sweet laugher, a smile began to appear on Xiao li's face.
'I want you to give birth to my child'
'Let's get married'
Jingyi Wang's calm, yet domineering voice rang out in her ears.
Hot tears spilled down her cheeks when she remembered his words. Turning her head from the couple, she began to run.
After five minutes of running, Xiao li saw a silver sport car slowly pulled over by her side. The car window slowly lowered, exposing the perfectly handsome face of Liu Wei. He was wearing a dark pair of sunglasses with a blue leisure suit which was brightly colored and elegant looking.
"Lili" Liu Wei removed his sunglasses and smiled at her.
Xiao li had just cried and she didn't want anyone to see her face, so she lowered her head and acknowledged him with a nod. "Mhm" then she continued to walk forward, not wanting to have another conversation with Liu Wei.
Liu Wei saw that she was walking away and the smile on his face froze. He hurriedly climbed down from his car and ran after her.
"Lili, why are you alone in the night?" he reached out to grab her arm, but Xiao li saw it and quickly dodged him. She stopped in her tracks, removed her baseball cap and turned to look at him.
The night was chilly and the breeze rolled up the fallen leaves. The wind became stronger and the moon hid into the dark clouds.
Liu Wei was shocked upon seeing Xiao li's red and swollen face. It seemed as if she had cried for long.
Liu Wei frowned, "Why are you crying?"
As soon as he spoke, raindrops started to fall on their faces.
"It's none of your business" she looked at him and answered coldly.
Liu Wei was shocked. This was the first time she ever looked at him with those cold eyes. In the past, Xiao li had always admired him and would watch him with love in her eyes.
He felt like it was because Xiao li was passing through a lot that was why she was acting strangely.
Xiao li turned around to leave, but was pulled back by Liu Wei. "I heard that Jingyi Wang got into an accident and-" he suddenly paused as he didn't know what to say.
"Why are you here?"
Liu Wei was stunned by her sudden question. It was true that he had been following her secretly, but didn't let her know.
The storm came upon them and the rain started to pour while the wind was battering against their faces and bodies.
By now, Xiao li's hair and clothes were already drenched. Liu Wei's brows knitted together before he walked towards his car and took an umbrella.
He walked back towards her with the umbrella over her head and looked at her worriedly. Xiao li didn't care if she was drenched or not. She just stood there blankly, staring into space as the wind became stronger.
"Lili..." he called her name.
Perhaps, it was because of the rain, however, his voice sounded low and raspy.
He fixated his gaze on her face. Her beautiful face which was now somehow pale appeared to be more alluring in the rain. Her dyed hair was not plastered to her face.
At that moment, Liu Wei felt the urge to move her hair from her face, but when he raised his arm, he lost all courage to do so.
Hence, his outstretched arm paused in the rain. He lowered his head to look at his hand and smiled bitterly.
What right did he have now to do something like that?
Xiao li's clothes were wet and it made her feel cold. Gnashing her teeth, she rubbed her arms with her hands.
Liu Wei saw this and took off his jacket, but he realized that it was even more wetter. If she were to wear the jacket, it wouldn't be helpful.
He pondered for a few seconds, then grabbed her arms and pulled her into his embrace.
