Chapter 322 Forcibly Spoiling His Girlfriend
"I'm sorry, Mr. Fang." Zhang Liling hurriedly apologize while blinking her eyes like a sorry doll.
Fang Bingwen had no words left for her. He stared at her for a while as if he wanted to poke a hole into her forehead before turning his gaze away.
At last, he got off the bed and went into the inner room with black lines on his forehead.
'Is he angry?' Zhang Liling thought.
After lying in a bed for a few minutes more, she picked up her phone and left his bedroom for her own.
At least, it was basic knowledge to know that Mr. Fang had gone to freshen up. She could as well use that time to get dressed as well.
Fortunately, when Zhang Liling was done freshening up and went to the dining for breakfast, she didn't have to meet a grumpy face.
Looking at the man that was pulling the chair out without worry or any form of grudges written on his face, she concluded that he was in his best of mood.
She was indeed fortunate.
"Do you like the food or you want something else?" Mr. Fang asked while gazing at her.
He was not sure of what she wanted. Since she came over not feeling fine mentally, he thought that she might have something special she would want to eat that would make her happy.
Glancing at the light western breakfast spread on the dining table, Zhang Liling replied.
"I can eat them, but I would want a snack in two hours."
She was very hungry and couldn't wait for another set of breakfast to be prepared, so she had to make do with what she had.
Hearing her day that, Fang Bingwen glanced at the food before calling a servant over to her surprise
Fixing his gaze on her surprised face, he said, "Tell her what you want for desert. The chef will prepare it."
"Oh!" Zhang Liling exclaimed in understanding before turning her gaze to the servant to list our the things she felt like eating.
"Thank you, Mr. Fang." Zhang Liling conveyed her appreciation as soon as the servant turned on her heels.
"It's nothing. I should have asked you to do this yesterday so you wouldn't have to wait this long, but it slipped my mind." He explained while pushing the plate of sandwich close to him.
He had forgotten to check with her one what she would want to eat the next day so the Chef would get them ready.
He was indeed sorry for his negligence, but Zhang Liling did not mind.
She was carried away with how he easily out away his grudges.
She had been afraid that he would snob her during breakfast, but here he was caring for her as if she did not offend him earlier.
Fang Bingwen was indeed a sweet man.
The rest of the breakfast time was spent in silence.
It was only when they finished eating they Mr. Fang spoke to her again.
"I would be going to the office today, do you want me to get anything for you?" He asked.
Zhang Liling's brows creased, clearly showing how unhappy she was with the news. "You're going out?"
She thought he would keep her company at least for today, but she had forgotten that this was a workday and as the CEO of a big conglomerate, he had huge responsibilities to shoulder.
"Yes. I would have asked you to come with me, but that is the same work environment I don't want you to enter into, so you have to stay home and relax." Fang Bingwen explained.
He knew that she needed his company, but he couldn't grant her that wish. If he took her to work so she could spend her time in his office for the day, he wasn't sure that it would be s good mental treatment for her stress.
After all, it was the same work that tired her out.
Zhang Liling was tempted to insist on following him, but she knew he was right. She wasn't even sure that being in a work environment would be best for her at the moment given what she was going through.
Left with no choice, she came to an agreement with him while also making a request.
"Can you come back a bit earlier today? I doubt that I would get bored while staying cooked up in the house."
Her request made sense, so Fang Bingwen granted her wish.
"That's fine, I already planned to do that. If you are bored, you can go to the gym room or go out to look around. If shopping will make you feel better, please do that."
Any activity that can replace him while he was away, he would suggest that she got involved with it.
At this point, he wanted something that would distract her.
The reason he brought her to his place was so she could get better on time and go back to work so they can meet the deadline they set for her brand launch.
To his suggestion, Zhang Liling agreed to it.
While he went upstairs to get dressed, she went into the kitchen to take a look around and ended up spending much time there from chatting with the chef.
If the housekeeper hadn't come to inform her that Mr. Fang was looking for her, she would have missed seeing him leave for work.
As soon as Zhang Liling appeared at the entrance, she saw him putting something at the back seat of the car.
Thinking that he was leaving already, she screamed his name and hurried outside.
"Don't run. What if you fall?" Fang Bingwen questioned midway, just before she could get to his side.
"I was afraid you would leave before I can say goodbye to you," Zhang Liling explained as her gaze darted around his body to check out his suit.
"I called for you, remember? So how would I have left without seeing you?" He retorted as he slipped his hand inside the back pocket of his pants and took out his black leather wallet.
"I thought you would he e left if I delayed for a moment," Zhang Liling explained as her gaze followed his hands.
She saw him take out his wallet from his pocket and open it. Then the next moment, she saw him slip out his bank card and pass it to her.
"What is it for?" she thought aloud without taking a moment to think as her eyes moved form the card in his hand to his face.
"Go shopping and make yourself happy before I come back. That is the task I'm giving to you today."
Mr. Fang's statement could hardly pass off as an instruction.
He was acting more like a husband forcibly spoiling his wife.
Zhang Liling felt her heart flutter in her chest as all kinds of sweetness enveloped her. With a smile that reached her eyes, she took the card from him and waved it in front of him.
"Then, I will make sure to spend your money to my heart's content."
"As if you can spend a quarter of it in a day." Fang Bingwen said offhandedly as he climbed into the back seat of his car.
Seeing that he was ready to leave and not wanting to delay him any longer, Zhang Liling hurriedly thanked him in a moment of happiness.
"Thank you, Mr. Fang for making me happy."
The corners of Fang Bingwen's lips curved up as her words reached his ears.
Stretching his hand out through the window, he waved his hand to her as the driver turned on the car's engine and drove out from the vicinity.
Zhang Liling stood outside waving at the car with a smile on her face until it disappeared from her sight. Only then did she skip inside as her lost vigour returned.
Two hours later, the desert she requested for, was brought for her and as soon as she finished eating, she collapsed on her bed and dosed off.
Another two hours later, she woke up and went straight to bathroom to wash her face. When she finished with that simple task, she changed into a sleeveless wine red jumpsuit and picked up her bag.
On her way out, she messaged Mr. Fang.
'Hello, Mr. Fang! How is work going? I'm on my way to spend your money.'
After leaving that text for him, she went ahead to book a cab before going back to check the message she left for him to see if he had left any response yet.
Unfortunately, he was yet to reply, so she went down to the living room, ready to leave the house only to be stopped by Butler Gu.
"Miss Zhang, are you going out?" He inquired with a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.
"Yes, but I will be back soon. Is anything the matter?" She asked, wondering if he wanted something from her.
Hearing that, he quickly replied, "Lunch is ready. Won't you like to have some food before leaving?"
