Chapter 36: 56%

Chapter 36: 56%

Under Jane Foster's shocked gaze, Alex stood up, hands in his pockets, and casually walked towards the base ahead. He moved unhurriedly, as if the heavily guarded military base was nothing more than a leisurely resort.

Due to Thor's earlier intrusion, the agents were on high alert and immediately noticed Alex's approach. Some agents moved to intercept him, but as they got closer and saw his appearance, they instinctively stopped.

"White hair, blue eyes—he's the White Mutant!" one agent exclaimed in horror.

Unlike civilians, these S.H.I.E.L.D. agents were well aware of the White Mutant's terrifying reputation. Unlike the X-Men, who sought peace between mutants and humans, or the Brotherhood of Mutants, who aimed to dominate the world, the White Mutant was a powerful mutant with no clear goals, driven only by his whims. This unpredictability made him the most unstable and dangerous element.

Another agent, confused, asked, "Isn't the White Mutant supposed to be in New York? Could he be a copycat?"

This doubt spread among the agents, but as the white-haired figure drew closer, their uncertainty vanished. Alex took a step forward, and the immense pressure from his "Red," erupted, sending the surrounding agents flying.

Alarms blared, and urgent communications echoed through the agents' radios: "White Mutant is attacking! White Mutant is attacking!"

Unlike Thor's earlier assault, the agents quickly mobilized, readying their weapons to confront the intruder. From his high vantage point, Hawkeye, who had been monitoring Thor's attack, heard the alerts through his earpiece. The casualness vanished from his expression as he stared gravely at the figure approaching the base.

There, a figure with hands still in his pockets was steadily advancing. As he moved, a massive repulsive force enveloped the area, sending makeshift buildings and well-trained agents flying out of the zone.

Hawkeye focused intently on the White Demon, his right hand pulling back his bowstring, uncertain whether to release the arrow. As if sensing his gaze, the White Demon suddenly looked up at him, his eyes devoid of any emotion—a look of complete indifference. It was this chilling gaze that made Hawkeye lower his bow. He knew that shooting his explosive arrow would not harm the White Mutant in the slightest but would likely cost him his life. A single casual attack from the White Mutant would be lethal to him. As a well-trained, skilled agent, Hawkeye wasn't afraid of death, but he wouldn't throw his life away pointlessly.

In a control room filled with surveillance screens, the repeated alarms echoed from the loudspeakers: "Alert, White Mutant attacking! Alert, White Mutant attacking!"

A bald man with glasses, hearing the alarm, had a flash of insight in his eyes. He quickly moved to a hidden corner and sent a message to an unknown IP before resuming his command, "Do not provoke the White Mutant. We are no match for him. Avoid any unnecessary sacrifices. Agent Coulson, you've had close contact with the White Mutant before. We're counting on you."

In an interrogation room, Agent Coulson was questioning Thor when the alarms blared through his earpiece. Hearing the news that Alex was attacking, he immediately thought of the hammer located at the site. If anything could attract the White Mutant, it must be that hammer. Without hesitation, Coulson left the interrogation room and rushed outside.

Meanwhile, Thor, left alone in the interrogation room, also heard the repeated alarms. "The White Mutant—that's who Alex has been cosplaying as, right? Why is he here?" he thought. Suddenly, he recalled his conversations with Alex and how nonchalant he had been about storming a military base. Thor began to piece things together. "No way... Is he really that so-called White Mutant? Was everything he said true?!"

Coulson, now outside, saw that large parts of the temporary structures had been destroyed by the terrifying repulsive force. It was raining heavily, turning the ground into a swamp. Most of the agents were scattered across the ground, drenched and in disarray. Amidst the chaos, a figure hovered in the air, untouched by the rain, which was deflected by an invisible force field several meters around him. He walked through the air, untouched by mud or dirt, as if he didn't belong to this world.

Seeing the invisible force field already wreaking havoc on the temporary structures, Coulson shouted, "Mr. Alex! Mr. Alex! This is Coulson. We met at Stark Tower. Please stop; we welcome your visit!"

Hearing Coulson's voice, Alex withdrew his repulsive force and stepped down to stand beside Coulson. Seeing Alex appear and cease his attack, Coulson breathed a deep sigh of relief and said, "Mr. Alex, you didn't need to make such an entrance. You're welcome here."

Alex grinned slightly, thinking, 'If I didn't have power, your attitude would probably be different.' He smiled and said, "I was just saying hello, no harm intended!"

Looking at the numerous downed agents and the half-destroyed base, Coulson couldn't help but silently remark, 'This is what you call saying hello?'

However, he knew that for the White Mutant, this level of destruction was indeed a sign of restraint.

Coulson then asked, "What brings you here?"

As Alex walked further into the base, he replied, "You've captured my friend. I'm here to get him back."

Coulson immediately thought of the man who claimed to be Thor. Cold sweat began to form on his forehead—luckily, they hadn't harmed him, or the situation would be truly uncontrollable.

As Alex entered the base, he headed straight for the site where Mjolnir was located. When he arrived at the crater, he noticed someone trying to lift the hammer. But it was clear that he wasn't worthy—no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't budge it.

Seeing this, Alex immediately recognized the man in the strange armor. With a playful smile and under Coulson's puzzled gaze, Alex said, "Loki, you can't lift it because you're not worthy."

Loki turned around at the sound of the voice and was surprised to see that a mere human had noticed him while he was invisible. Nevertheless, Loki quickly adopted a haughty expression, looking down on Alex despite standing below him. Spreading his arms wide, Loki arrogantly declared, "Mighty one of Midgard, you have the honor of meeting the King of Asgard!"

Alex looked at the proud Loki, then at the current state of his character template, which had reached 56% fusion and unlocked numerous powerful abilities. A mischievous smile spread across his face. It seemed it was time to teach this naughty prince a lesson.
