Chapter 65: Corvus Glaive
Chapter 65: Corvus Glaive
Corvus Glaive was overwhelmed with grief, his already ugly face contorted even more, forming a stark contrast to Alex's calm smile.
The blade tore through the air, slicing towards Alex with a mighty whoosh.
But this attack, which could easily breach the Hulk's defense, came to a halt five meters away from Alex.
Watching the furious and unintelligible howls of Corvus, Alex's calm smile slowly transformed into a more amused expression.
He deliberately reduced the distance of his Infinity, creating the illusion that Corvus' attack was breaking through the defense, and he exaggeratedly remarked, "Oh no! You're getting so close! Please don't come any closer!"
Enraged and filled with hatred, Corvus didn't notice the mockery in Alex's eyes. Seeing himself getting closer to the murderer of his wife, a look of excitement crept onto his face.
'I can win! His defense isn't truly invincible!'
Corvus Glaive swung his blade faster, whipping up a whirlwind in the control room. With every swing, Alex would shrink the range of his Infinity, and soon enough, he was right in front of him.
Seeing himself finally reach Alex, the excitement on his face became uncontrollable. He shouted, "Die, you lowly Earthling!"
As the blade sped towards him, Alex pretended to look terrified, raising his palm in apparent panic to block the attack.
At this moment, Corvus Glaive imagined his blade slicing through Alex's arm, then cutting him in half! His wife's death was about to be avenged!
But in the next moment, the supersonic blade was effortlessly stopped by a slender finger. In Corvus' disbelieving eyes, the blade went from extreme motion to extreme stillness, halting instantly.
Then he saw the Earthling in front of him unable to hold back his smile. The previous panic and despair disappeared, replaced by mockery and amusement.
"Hahaha... Your expression is priceless. Did you really think you could win? Hahahaha."
Alex clutched his stomach, looking at Corvus' face, which was caught between excitement and bewilderment, and burst into laughter!
Finally realizing he had been toyed with, Corvus Glaive lost all composure under Alex's taunts. He roared and swung his blade with all his might, attacking Alex again.
But the powerful blade, capable of cutting through atoms, was stopped again by a single finger.
Despite his seemingly delicate finger, it withstood the blade without even leaving a mark on the skin!
Seeing this absolute disparity, Corvus shouted in despair, "No!"
Alex casually cleaned his ear and slowly walked toward the extraterrestrial.
The Infinity gradually extended again. Although Corvus continued to swing his weapon as he had at the beginning, unlike before, the distance between him and Alex steadily increased until it reached the original five meters!
Alex kept walking forward. Even when Corvus was pinned against the wall and immobilized, he didn't stop. As he got closer, Corvus, embedded in the wall, began to shatter — his skin and bones breaking apart.
Of course, the metal wall behind him couldn't have achieved this on its own, but Alex was also applying force to the wall. The General's body was shattering due to two opposing forces colliding.
"Ah..."
Under immense pressure, Corvus Glaive's body quickly broke apart. Despite his rapid healing ability, even as he was nearly reduced to a pile of flesh, he did not die, and could still vibrate the remaining organs to speak: "Hahaha, you can't kill me. One day, I will kill you!"
Faced with Corvus' confident taunts, Alex's smile didn't change. He replied with a smile:
"Yes, that's true. Unless I destroy the weapon that houses your soul, you will keep regenerating. With the help of your blade, you could even revive infinitely."
Corvus Glaive's smug smile froze. "How do you know my ability?"
But he quickly regained his arrogance: "But so what if you know? My blade is indestructible! Even Lord Thanos couldn't destroy it. What can you do?"
"Is that so?" Alex used his powers to draw the blade lying on the ground from afar and grasped it tightly. Accompanied by black and red lightning, even with his technique, he couldn't destroy the weapon.
Seeing this, the smile on Corvus' face grew more smug:
"A mere Earthling could never destroy my blade! Don't waste your time dreaming!"
Alex, unfazed by the taunts, looked at him mockingly:
"I've come across plenty of so-called indestructible things. The most notable among them is the Destroyer armor from Asgard. I wonder if your blade is more durable than Odin's Destroyer armor?"
Corvus' expression stiffened. He was well aware of the Destroyer armor's power — a force enough to rival the Celestials. Even with his confidence in his blade, he didn't think it could match the Destroyer armor.
His once-confident demeanor quickly faded, and he anxiously questioned Alex: "What are you going to do?"
Alex didn't answer; he'd had enough fun. He gripped Corvus' weapon tighter. This time, his palm emitted a blue glow, followed by a black-red light.
The two colors collided and merged, forming a terrifying purple sphere in his hand!
Purple
Upon contact with this space-tearing sphere, the blade that General Corvus' so heavily relied upon began to disintegrate right before his eyes!
Wherever the purple sphere touched, there was nothing left behind — not even a fragment!
As the blade disintegrated, Glaive'slet out a desperate, pained scream. His soul, housed in the weapon, was being obliterated along with it.
Perhaps due to Alex's sadistic humor, he could have destroyed the blade instantly, but he chose to do it slowly.
Finally, after several minutes, the screams of Corvus Glaive ceased, and his flesh, which had been twitching within the force field, attempting to regenerate, went completely still, entering absolute death!
The mightiest among Thanos's generals, Corvus Glaive — once considered immortal and undefeatable — was effortlessly slain by Alex!
