Chapter 20: You must be tired of living!
"Come on! Come on! Come on!" Lucien growled as a silver magic array appeared beneath his feet and the star points at the center of the array began to link, slowly taking the shape of a star pattern.
"Wind magic: Wind rider!" Lucien growled as the wind wheels appeared beneath his feet as soon as the star points linked.
Brrrrr!
Lucien held his breath as he struggled to use the wind wheels and skid down the walls of the castle.
"If I survive this, nothing else can kill me!" Lucien growled as he performed the shift in hopes of strengthening his body while tried desperately to break his fall by reducing his speed with his spell.
{GO!} Lucien yelled in his mind as soon as he got close to the ground.
Stomping the wall hard, he shot forward like a missile covering a lot of ground in mere seconds!
Swoosh!
While shooting forward, Lucien performed a front flip, entering a position where his legs were pointing slightly above the ground while his upper half was leaning backward.
GRRRRRRRRRRR!
The sound of his wind wheels cutting deep into the ground could be heard as he struggled greatly to reduce his speed. Luckily for him, all the pressure was placed on the wind wheels, If not his legs would have snapped upon contact with the ground. It didn't take long before Lucien's spell vanished and hit the ground hard, rolling a couple of times before stopping.
"O-U-C-H!" Lucien spelled out the words one after the other as he slowly tried to move but his body wasn't responding.
His joints hurt badly and his legs hurt even worse but then he couldn't help but admit that his bones would have been shattered if not for the extra defense he gained from the shift. He slowly tried to raise his face off the ground but he felt a warm liquid rolling down his face from the top left corner of his head.
"Nice, and I am bleeding!" Lucien muttered as he sluggishly got on his feet.
Looking towards the west, he could still see the massive cross and spells flying around. The sound of battle was still fresh and this made him believe even more that a large number of people invaded the empire!
"Come on one more time!" Lucien muttered as he breathed heavily.
He felt a bit light-headed and dry. Based on his prior knowledge he could tell he was running out of mana.
"I can barely cast a basic spell three times a day and I am considered a genius! How bad are the others" Lucien muttered with a wry smile as he found it hard to connect the star points on the magic circle beneath his feet.
This time, he found himself, putting in a lot of effort and concentration, just to complete his spell.
"Wind magic: Wind rider!" Lucien muttered weekly as his feet slowly left the ground and a wind wheel appeared beneath his feet.
Xiu!
__________
On the battlefield, instructor Han suddenly appeared above the battlefield, hoping to see an army but instead what he met was a small team of twelve men and the most stunning thing about these invaders was that only two out of the twelve were facing off against not less than thirty mages and fighters.
The spatial Zone set around this region of the empire's borders allowed him alerted him if someone decided to teleport into the empire through the use of spatial magic. But that didn't happen, the destruction of the walls in such a fancy manner was what alerted him, forcing him to create a spatial lock zone around the region, preventing anyone except himself from teleporting within the area. He did this because he could feel the strong spatial aura from one of the invaders.
Instead of joining the fight immediately, he chose to observe a little bit and think of a way to deal with the invaders. First of all, he didn't know what empire these people came from if he were to judge based on their attire. Finally, if these twelve were brave enough to attack head-on, it meant they were quite confident in their strength, since he wasn't a combat type, he chose to watch from the sidelines and support the other instructors present. To do this, Instructor Han chose to hide above the clouds while suppressing his aura to the minimum! Since these people were distracted by numerous foes, they shouldn't be able to find him
"YOU DARE USE A SPATIAL LOCK ON ME? HOW BOLD OF YOU!" a white-haired youth dressed in a silver sleeveless mage robe growled. He had glowing silver eyes and countless silver tattoos littered all over his arms. He had a black scythe in his hand which oozed of death yet his main aura showed he was a spatial mage. Leaving Instructor Han a bit confused.
"Impossible!" Instructor Han muttered.
With a hint of disbelief in his eyes, he watched this youth, reach towards the sky and pull! Instructor Han originally thought nothing of this but then he felt an invisible force take control of his body and forcefully pull him down to the ground. No matter how much he struggled, he couldn't break free! The only thing he could do was slow down the speed of his descent.
BAM!
Upon collision with the ground, his vision blurred and it felt like all the air in him was forcefully dragged out. While gasping for air, Instructor Han could barely see a thing since he felt dizzy and his vision was blurry. As a mage who only focused on improving his magic skills, Instructor Han has never for once tried to strengthen his body, making him weaker than even warriors at a lower cultivation realm.
"You are weak Just like your spatial magic!" The same voice said
Instructor Han felt the spatial lock zone he set up shatter almost effortlessly. He could feel a spatial gate form and he was forced to act!
"SPATIAL MAGIC: ZONE!" Instructor Han roared as he let out a silver spatial wave shattering the spatial gate formed. His body felt too weak and even now he couldn't even rise on his feet.
"You dare interfere with my plans again? Die then!" The voice could be heard even closer than before,
The white-haired youth raised his black scythe and was about to behead the instructor! The massive golden cross was placed behind the instructor, stopping all spells shot towards the in a bid to force the white-haired youth to retreat.
"DON'T YOU DARE!"
Suddenly a roar could be heard from the side and from nowhere a youth appeared, shooting towards the white-haired invader like a missile.
"WHO!" The invader roared as he swung his black scythe at the incoming foe but his weapon only slashed the empty air!
Above! No the side!
Raising his hand, barely on time, the invader was greeted with a powerful kick, but this was no ordinary kick! He could see a wheel of wind tearing into his flesh at an alarming rate, threatening to cut off the entire palm!
Xiu!
Vanishing, the invader appeared a few meters away, only to gaze at his opponent and find out it was a youth barely up to thirteen or less. It was Lucien!
"You dare try to kill a loyal mage of this empire? You are must be tired of living!" Lucien growled angrily.
