Chapter 225 225. Deimos.
Chapter 225 225. Deimos.
"I can see you do not want to disappoint your master,"
"Just tell me where he is and I'll make your death a little less painful Cerberus,"
Cerberus eyes widened at the mention of its name which was only known to him and Kevin.
Although, Cerberus wondered how she knew of his name but he couldn't come up with an explanation as to how she knew.
However, Angelica noticed the look of uncertainty on Cerberus face and a grin appeared on hers.
But just as the grin appears, it vanishes instantaneously when Angelica noticed the color change of the clear blue sky.
A huge glowing red magic circle spread across the sky of the city, reflecting a bright red glow.
A bloody rain drizzled down from the sky, painting the town red.
Denizens were puzzled by what was going on, screams sounded aloud from different parts of the city as the dead rises from various parts of the earth.
The cannibals were a lot sturdier and muscular than most cannibals the people of the city had ever seen.
Also, a slit tore through the space of the earth, unleashing different kinds of demonic creatures, flying around and feasting on the humans they laid their eyes upon.
One by one, the people were bitten by the cannibals they encounter, it didn't take long before a mass hysteria erupted.
Although, a lot of Awakened and Nil were always in hiding, trying not to be caught by the army and government, still they decided to come out to help those they cared about.
A few of their friends were injured, others were unable to defend themselves but they abandoned the thought of concealing their awakened appearances and abilities.
A few days ago, they would have never thought of revealing their abilities out in the open, because if anyone had caught them, they would have instantly been reported to the authorities.
In short, they were the number one public enemy.
But now, things were different.
And, since they were willing to aid those in need of help, no one cared if they were an awakened or nil.
Although, they were still wary of the cannibals moving in an awkward and lumbering way.
Moments later, the army stepped in, providing shelter and protection to those who managed to take a stand for themselves.
They continued to do everything they can to limit the number of casualties and death by the hands of demons and cannibals alike, with the sounds of heavy artillery echoing throughout the cities.
Screams of injured individuals with missing limbs, and cries of children without a guardian echoed around the city as well.
But even with the Awakened and army intervention by their side, their combined forces still weren't enough to stop the cannibals and demonic beasts storming out of the slit in the sky.
Moreover, SSS ranked Awakened clones, roamed the land, causing mayhem and destruction wherever they go while capturing a few hostages along the way.
It was chaotic.
Meanwhile, back at Kevin's penthouse, Angelica's forehead creased as she noticed a silhouette appear between she and Cerberus.
The image of the silhouette became clearer right after the dust clears and Cerberus quivered at the domineering aura released by the demon in front of him.
The demon had a pair of horns protruding from his forehead, red hair with crimson colored eyes, while also standing at a towering height of 2m..
"Stand down Angelica, you're wasting time, and time isn't on our side right now. If you can't end the mutt and everyone else, then allow me to do the honors,"
Although, Angelica and the demon before her never saw eye to eye, still she wasn't going to allow this demon to jeopardize the plan that had been initially decided.
"We need hostages, remember? And besides, shouldn't you be spending your time causing mayhem to the human's rather than wasting it here?"
"Change of plans, Ares wants me to handle this," Deimos uttered in a deep husky tone, his eyes still focused on Cerberus.
Although, Angelica wasn't pleased to hear this, she knew Ares didn't really trust her that much but she didn't care about what he thinks.
After all, she loved to do things her own way.
She never really wanted to hurt Victoria and the others. She just wanted to keep an eye on them, long enough for Kevin to return.
Even though Cerberus leaped out to save the girls earlier, Angelica had no intention of harming him either.
Well, actually she does have the intention of harming him and the girls but not to the point of death.
T-there's a difference.
But since Ares and Deimos wanted Angelica to focus her strength somewhere else, Angelica would rather sit back and see how long Cerberus can last before his master arrives.
Will he be able to stand on his own against a foe like Deimos or will he be killed alongside Kevin's women just before Kevin arrive.
Either way, Angelica was eager to see how this was going to turn out.
She walked towards the alcove of the room where a small leather chair was placed and she sat on it to entertain herself by watching how the outcome of the battle was going to be.
Deimos watched as Angelica took her seat and a sigh escaped his lips. He couldn't comprehend why Ares would want to side with someone sharing a strong ties to the enemy.
But he remained silent, and instead of waiting for things to go according to how Ares wants it to be, Deimos felt otherwise.
He heard Kevin had yet to fully awaken his strength, and what better way to weaken him more than to end everything he held dare to him.
