My Evil System

Chapter 58 How About That Bomb?

System, if I used this Hex Bomb, would me and Florin get cursed as well?

<Nope. Whoever is the owner of the items and their minions is safe against its effect. The same with spells and skills that have a wide area damage>

That's comforting to know.

There were no windows inside here, and I assumed that we were probably in the basement as the air was stale and humid.

I didn't know the house's layout, and the inhabitants here mostly have their ATP nearing the hundreds. Their ATP was a little higher than the inhabitants in Euclid Village from before.

Though I could easily kill them now, I would have a problem if they came at me in groups of five.

But with the help of Florin and Minion 0, we could probably finish their numbers. Though the same couldn't be said about ten to twenty soldiers.

I turned the knob off the door. It wasn't lock, and there weren't any guards guarding the exit.

They probably put their confidence in that guy from before.

<Host already forgot his name? It's Jayson. Like in Jayson the massacre~>

Whatever.

I didn't know why they were hiring players to kill players if they could do it themselves. They could get our items if we're dead.

<It's because they want their contracted players to get stronger. The inhabitants might receive your items as drops once they kill you, but they would never get gil or EXP from killing you. Only Players are capable of that>

By the way, I've been meaning to ask . . . do inhabitants level up as well?

<Nope. Their ATP is fixed . . . However . . . >

However?

<Though they wouldn't get any EXP from players or beasts, there are certain ways to increase their ATP or evolve their class as well as their skills and spells>

Hmm . . . I see . . .

I pushed those thoughts to the back of my mind since I wasn't interested in the inhabitants of this world at the moment. But knowing that it's hard for them to level their stat was good news, even more so that their ATP was fixed.

Though Dementia appeared in my mind . . . And I forgot . . . I promised her a fresh batch of meat. Those players a while ago were perfect, with low stats, shackles, and all. But they were a hindrance to my escape.

Come to think of it . . . I doubled back and acquired the many shackles lying on the ground. They'll be handy if ever I wanted to bring players to Dementia.

[Acquired: Skill/Spell Cancelling Shackles x10]

Florin didn't bother to know what I was doing as she went past me to go check the exit and was surprised to find the narrow hall empty.

"There are no guards?" she asked.

"They probably underestimated us too much, thinking that we're just noobs." The smile on my face widened. "That works in our favor. Let's go while the coast is clear."

Florin and I steadily climbed the set of stairs leading up. And while we were doing so, I readied the [Hex Bomb] in my hand.

I was going to kill the guards if they were only one or three of them. Besides that, I'll use the [Hex Bomb] and [The Dead's Scream] to inflict a status effect on my opponents and finish them off.

If worse came to worst, I'll leave Florin behind and teleport myself out.

<+100 Evil Points rewarded to the Host for thinking of sacrificing others to save himself!>

<Continue your selfish deeds, and you'll be one way to become an Evil Overlord, the greatest villain there is!>

Going in circles on the staircase for around five minutes, we finally reach a wooden door with steel frames. It wasn't lock when I pried it open.

Checking through the small gap in the door, I was surprised to see that we were outside of the mansion near what I thought was a garden. They imprisoned us in the basement tower from the looks if it as the ladder was still spiralling towards the very top.

I got out, followed by Florin, and exactly at that time, two guards appeared behind the trees. They were night guards patrolling the area from the looks of it. I knew that they would appear thanks to my Evil Eyes, which displayed the map of the place and the locations of everyone. One day of not using it and I already forgot that it could do these kinds of stuff.

They were stunned when they saw us, and that was all the opportunity I needed to strike. With a clean swipe, their heads fell off from their neck. Their DEF was weaker against my STR. Equipped with Lucy, two or three soldiers wouldn't pose some problems.

"Let's go."

Florin followed closely behind me. Her silence rubbed me on the edges. Looking over, she was smiling from ear to ear while her eyes never strayed from me.

I found it strange that she wasn't scared and shaking. But I guess staying in this world would have that effect even on the sanest person.

We took the opposite direction, tracking paths that had lesser guards and traps. The mansion's garden was like a forest, and it was full of all kinds of traps in case some prisoner got escaped. From bombs, arrows, boar traps, pit traps, and from flying logs with spikes were all useless in the face of my Evil Eyes that showed everything on my map.

It didn't take long, and we were faced with a giant wall about five hundred millimetres thick and three meters in height. Normal siege weapons were useless against it, and it's unclimbable.

But nothing was indestructible with the [Acid of Despair] I was carrying. A drop of it and it melted the thick concrete like butter.

"Wow! Amazing, My lord! Where did you get all those cool items?"

"In the Lair of an Old Hag," I told her.

"Whoa. You even killed an Old Hag? I heard they're powerful. Powerful than most NPCs."

I didn't bother to correct her and just pushed her into that newly formed hole.

"Go first. And wait for me outside the city," I instructed.

Florin's forehead crumpled, and there was a dangerous glint in her eyes when she spoke. "My lord . . . are you going to abandon me?"

I wanted to roll my eyes. Why was she so clingy all of a sudden? I just wanted to test if she would run away as this was her chance of freedom. But I guess my suspicion was laid to rest . . . for the time being.

"Fine. Wait here," I said and pulled out the [Hex Bomb] from my inventory.

Florin tilted her head to the side when I threw an odd-looking ball as far as I could, hitting the mansion's French window, piercing the night with its noise.

"My Lord, What are you doing?"

"Taking revenge," I told her and casually went out of the estate.

Now that was out of the way. It was time to hunt some players.
