Chapter 14: A Level Zero's Struggle (5)

A Level Zero's Struggle (part 5)

Qiao could not be bothered with their roguish ways. These chasers might have developed habits to bully junior brawlers and zeroes but as long as his life was not directly pushed down a cliff, everything was fine.

But the leader who was facing the monster right now did not have a calm expression like Qiao. He was having a tough time and just when he prepared a big attack, something unexpected took place.

The chaser was not sure where he went wrong, but a broken log suddenly appeared before him on the ground. This sudden drop of a piece of log kicked up mud and water which deprived his ability watch properly. He struggled to focus on the monster but the muddy water was making it difficult.

He had wanted to show off through this attack. But now just the opposite of it was happening.

The lower level chasers always turned agape when they happened to witness a higher level or senior chaser do some powerful attack.

It always boosted the seniors and they could brag about their strength.

But it this situation. the leader instead fell face down in the mud and the monster found this as a chance to run over him.

Looking at the turn of event, the team members rushed forward. If they did not help in this scenario they would be chopped by this leader so they hurried to rescue.

They came in between the leader and the monster and attacked with all their limits up.

With the collaborative attack, the monster was pushed back for the time being and the leader was able to grasp this time and stood up.

The chasers happened to see his blasted muddy look and they could barely control their laughter.

They should not be disrespectful, could they?

Qiao found this golden chance when the team and the monster had been separated to make a move. The chasers were distracted thinking that the monster was not soon attacking, so he could just avail this opportunity to grab some experience points.

Until now, he understood one thing very clearly. As long as a brawler, chaser or hunter was able to collect experience, he didn't need to fear bullies because he could increase his own dexterity and strength.

He had observed the first party he ever met outside the fateful cave, the level one chasers had looked quiet burly if compared to a similar youth of their age.

And now watching this second level chaser, he saw that his strength was much more stable. He had better muscle build and they were compact. They looked to be an improvement from level one. The experience really transformed a guy physically it seemed. It wasn't just an illusion.

Qiao was known for his sharp observations on any topic or people and his fast calculations ability. This could help him in this world and if he carefully followed, he can get more knowledge about how the things work here.

Qiao happened to hear the instruction and the information which the lazy man had told to these chasers at the Guild earlier. Though it was just a sentence, but for a brawler it was more like a silver clue.

At least he had an idea what he could attempt.

Because of previous collaborative attack when the monster fell back, Qiao rushed forward. He aimed this time to attack its abdomen. This hit although might not prove to be fatal, it could potentially gain him more experience.

He was not level one so there will be laughable amount of strength behind his attack, but he should still try.

Every single point mattered, right?

He carried his shapeless weapon in his hand and jumped toward the monster, the shapeless weapon happened to be level three stone, so it was definitely much better than what other thought.

Indeed, this was the reason which gave him courage to attack. He was aiming carefully to make sure that maximum of his strength was delivered in this one strike.

It was at this moment when the chasers mouth went wide agape. They had not been surprised by their leaders attack because he had slipped up, but looking at this brawler's audacity made them really astonished.

In presence of his seniors, he was actually trying to show off. But what was there to show off here. They knew that the useless weapon would shatter.

And probably, the monster would be triggered.

It might grab the weak body of the brawler and turn it into meat paste.

But for Qiao, it was different.

He calculated the amount of time and his action speed beforehand, the monster would need three to four seconds for coming back and stand up for attack and he needed the same time because he was brawler.

If he was level one or two, he might not need this much time for action, so it was a difference between levels.

The leader forgot his situation which was not as welcoming as it should be, he was expecting to see something hilarious, they were trapping this brawler for so long and here he was throwing himself in front of the monster.

The chasers also got ready to watch this show.

The leader crossed his arms on his chest and scrutinized the movements of the brawler.

It was completely different from what they were expecting, the leader happened to notice the small amount of agility of his movements and the trajectory of his action. He creased his brows.

There was something wrong with this brawler.

This was impossible without gaining minimum five hundred experience yet this brawler got his token today unless he has done it before or practiced but it was impossible for a downtown poor youth to support himself with the good amount of food to practice.

That's why most of the youths join guilds and become brawlers for goodness sake.

As the weapon made contact with the monster, a surprised look flashed across all those present.
