Chapter 33: Headstrong Level One Chaser (5)

Headstrong Level One Chaser (part 5)

Qiao was dumbfounded when he heard the price of the weapons. He heaved a deep sigh and planned to go back.

The present shapeless weapon he had was best for him. He was no longer quite as generous anymore to give up on his spoils from the hunt. The value they represented was becoming aware to him now. It was really necessary to collect as much spoils as he could and then he might return to buy the level five weapon.

For now, he should just be grateful that he had a level three weapon

After returning to the guild, he deposited his remaining spoils to the Guild account.

He was now more than eager now to go on any and every mission taken by the team leader.

Today they were assigned to reach the lower parts of the forest and search for a monster which was spotted few days ago. But the team which was sent here to hunt it, lost its track and they could not find it again. If they could search for it and were able to find it and hunt it, they would be rewarded by the Guild with good amount of spoils.

The team which hunted it, would return back whatever they gained from the hunt to the Guild. This was a request as well a warning from the Guild.

After the previous team had already lost sight of the monster getting into a scuffle with it, it was going to be very difficult to spot it again. But the rewards were worth the risk and if they were to hunt it that would be the best result. Or else they would have wasted a whole day.

The team was excited and they began their search after reaching the lower part of the forest. The forest was a really vast region so it was almost impossible to find other teams hunting in the same area.

Still, someone was hiding to trap Qiao to settle the vengeance and humiliation he faced at his hands.

It was the chaser who lost against him in front of others and was unwilling to follow his own words in the end as a punishment.

He still could not make himself believe that a newbie was able to defeat him with fair means. He was going to attack him in the open forest and see whether he could defend himself from his attack.

Meanwhile, the team was searching for their hunt. They were initially very excited but after searching for half a day, they lost their enthusiasm. If they spent whole day without hunting, it would really be a wasted day.

After half a day search, the team leader ordered all of them to make a smaller team and scatter in the surroundings to cover a larger area for searching.

According to the reception man, the monster would not have left the spotted area or it would not have gone too far. The monster often only tends to hide somewhere nearby in order to escape from hunters or chasers.

It was also possible that the specific area was the actual habitat of the monster then it would definitely return back once the hunters thought to leave it and go back.

Many teams came next day at the same spot to hunt the monster because that knew that the monster would return sooner or later.

This applied to all the monsters of this area or any other.

Qiao and Linwin nodded at each other and grouped together. They already had some understanding of each other so they thought to team up.

The whole team then scattered in the region. They agreed on a special cooing tone for calling others if anyone of them happened to spot the monster.

They both chose a direction and slowly searched the area. There were small rocky mountains here and as it was the lowest part of this forest, one could easily spot the lower downtown from here. This region was full of small and big hills.

The chaser who was following closely behind was close enough that he could come out any time soon to stop both of them. But he was observing a little more before he could decide to make his move.

"Brother, I am not too sure whether we will be able to find the traces of the monster in one day," Linwin said. He was tired as he had the lowest experience among all the team members and he was searching for the monster from morning with others.

He was a little disappointed too after half of the day had passed with no result.

"Whether we will be able to hunt or find the monster is truly related to our luck. Bu I too feel that it is going to be a waste of day," Qiao was also beginning to feel disappointed.

"Brother, that hills seems to be a good hiding spot, should we look there?" Linwin pointed toward the lowest hills which seemed to be dangerous place for chasers because it had steep climb and was a difficult place for treading.

Qiao looked up and surveyed the area, "If you are willing then we can go and see there, just that it is a little dangerous.

At the same time the chaser who was waiting for a good chance came out from behind the trunk of the tree.

He was waiting for this moment so he would be able to use this location to his advantage.

He blocked the path and smirked, "You were pretending strong earlier weren't you. I am here to see whether you can face me here,"

Linwin immediately recognized him and stepped behind. The chaser was level one and moreover had grudge with Qiao. If he happened to come here with the purpose of kill then he could just attack and throw them down from the hills.

On the other hand, Qiao was not surprised or he intentionally did not show any expression on his face.
