Chapter 67 66 - Boys Trip
After the "date" he went on with Maria, the confession from Krista, and finally their trial date. Milo's mind was frazzled. He spent the next week zoning out, mumbling to himself and was obviously out of it. Because of this, Chris and Mark thought it would be good for them to get Milo away from all the girl problems he'd been having at the academy, to get him back to his normal self.
Along with this, after finding out that maybe Krista and him weren't meant to be together, things got awkward between the two, and it would definitely be a little while before things returned to normal. And what better way than to put some space between the two so they could return to their normal headspace.
After returning to his room that day, Milo was surprised by Chris, Mark and Zach waiting for him in his room.
"Let's go, it's spring break and we are taking a boys trip," said Chris.
Milo had been so caught up in his head, that he completely forgot that their spring break had arrived. They had a week to unwind before the final stretch leading up to exams.
Chris had gone through all Milo's things and packed him a bag for their trip. Allana had pulled some strings by guilt tripping her brother, and had gotten them passes to use the teleporters at the association. After getting everything together, the group made their way to the building where Milo had gone to travel for his in field experience. Chris then pulled out a piece of cloth and tied it around Milo's eyes.
"You don't get to see where we're going, this trip is for you after all," he said.
After getting to the portal they needed to take, the group stepped through, and arrived at their destination, Milo with his eyes covered could tell when they stepped into the teleporter due to the feeling that came with stepping through one.
After arriving on the other end of the teleporter, Chris removed the blindfold and they made their way down to the exit of the GAA branch building they teleported to. The sun was beating down as the group walked through the exit into the warm humid air, and taking in a deep breath, Milo could smell the sea, Chris then spread his arms wide and said, "Welcome to Miami, Florida."
The group made through the streets taking in the sights while the sun shined brightly overhead. They made their way to the beach and found a place to change into swimsuits before running out into the sand. This was something that Milo desperately needed. Chris went on to explain that while they were here, they'd be staying in a beach house his parents had rented for them. After hearing that news the group took some time to relax, digging their toes into the sand and laying out in the warm Florida sun.
After enjoying their first stop at the beach, the group made their way to the place they'd be staying and were amazed by how nice the house they'd be staying at was.
The house had two stories and had a very modern appearance from the outside. When making their way through the house they each claimed a room and met in the kitchen. After meeting up they did a tour of the house and found that there was a huge pool on the back patio as well as beach access directly to the house. The house had all the latest advancements in technology, and even had all the latest game systems in case the boys wanted to stay inside and relax for a day.
After relishing in the place they'd be staying for the next few days, the group changed and went out to get some food and plan what they'd be doing while they were there. The beach was obviously a must but there were plenty of other things to do in south beach.
They then returned to their house for the night to get some rest before the following days activities were underway.
The next day the group all woke up and made their way to the beach once again, they all sat around enjoying cold drinks, the sand between their toes and the sound of the tide crashing against the sand.
While the pair was there, they continued to enjoy the coast, playing many games with other people they met while there and unwinding from the tension that they built up at school. Milo had finally cleared his head and everything seemed to be going well.
While the group spent most of their time at the beach, they also shopped around, went sightseeing, and even tried a whole bunch of foods they hadn't tried before.
Their last day, the group was walking around the city sightseeing some more when all of a sudden a familiar feeling came over Milo.
Milo looked into the sky to see a purple aura appear, before it slowly draped over the area around them like a dome. Seeing this, a lot of the people around them began to scream and sirens began to wail as a familiar announcement was made over loud speakers all over the area.
"This is not what I had in mind when you said we'd be taking a vacation," Milo said to his three friends, as the rift finished forming.
