Chapter 186 186 - Rage
Chapter 186 186 - Rage
They were overwhelmingly outnumbered.
*Rawr
Roy's panther roared, and just like that, all the beetles started launching attacks at the team.
There were at least two hundred beetles in the skies over the main square of the city in the great desert of the second world. The number of creatures was so great that it was hard to count or even imagine how many more were down in the nest. As soon as the beetles felt threatened, they began to conjure up water attacks.
Using the fork they had on top of their heads, they channeled their attacks. The creatures launched spheres of water with surprising speed. And when the water was close to the group, they spat and made the attack explode like a grenade.
"I'm going to create a shield!" shouted Ryan, who stretched out his hands and used what he had learned in magic circle class.
With ease, he created a gigantic magical barrier over the group. The monsters' saliva was like an explosive acid, and even with the barrier, it was still possible to smell the strong odor that the creatures exuded. But in the face of such great danger, everyone in the group seemed determined to get out of here.
"You need to learn to be quiet, Snowy," said Roy, who was the most nervous in this situation.
"How are we going to get out of here?" Nivia asked, waiting for an answer from Ryan and the druid.
Kodiak was serious and thoughtful, he was thinking of a better possibility, but Ryan's answer was good enough.
"Run away" he said, his vibrant red eyes more serious than usual.
"But we can't leave you here," said Ruri, worried.
Kodiak put a hand on the shaman's shoulder, "He's much stronger than us, if we try to help, we'll only end up getting in the way."
Ryan nodded, confirming what the druid was saying. Even though she didn't like the idea of leaving, Ruri agreed. Before leaving, she, Kodiak and Nivia cast buffs for Ryan.
Ruri used her elementals to give Ryan an agility and dexterity buff, while Nivia and Kodiak gave him strength and endurance buffs.
"That should last half an hour," Ruri said. "The same with our spells, they'll run out much faster when we move away," concluded Nivia.
Ryan then stretched out his hand and extended the barrier to one of the houses. The group managed to run into the building and escape safely from there.
*Sigh
"I think I'll get some extra demon points," he said.
<Why do you venture out with them if they're a bunch of wimps?
Ryan paused for a few seconds as he thought about it, he didn't have a concrete answer to this question. But after spending so much time exploring on his own, having some time with other people was somehow fun.
"I don't know, but seeing other people trying their hardest makes me want to try harder, and an adventure with others is a lot more fun," he said.
Ryan's body disappeared for a few seconds, and he quickly appeared in the sky, engulfed in black flames. On his back, two gigantic flaming wings jutted out as they shone in the intense sky. In his hands was the sniper rifle he had received from Lyza.
"Bang"
Pulling the trigger, the click noise broke the silence that hung over the battlefield. A gigantic bolt of lightning shot out, cutting through the wind and piercing the head of the strongest beetle in the army. The monster's body fell to the ground, and the smaller beetles were enraged by what was happening.
The bluish blood began to leak into the fountain, causing several explosions to occur due to the chemical reaction with the water. The monsters then flew towards Ryan, launching attacks with the acid from their mouths and the spells they could cast from the top of their horns.
Ryan easily dodged it until it disappeared again. The monsters stopped advancing and stared around, looking for where he was.
Then he reappeared in the sky, and taking out his backpack, he pulled out three boxes from the dwarves.
The boxes created the same magical barrier as before, making a wall beneath Ryan. There was a gigantic smile on his face, the happiness he got from killing those insects was something he couldn't achieve any other way.
He was standing on top of the triangle that had been formed. The beetles were flying upwards, trying to reach him, but neither their bites nor their attacks could get through the barrier.
With all his strength, he stepped through, pushing the barrier down and crushing all those insignificant creatures. The adrenaline rush he was feeling was gigantic, an explosion happened soon after, as the blood of those insects reacted again with the water, causing a toxic smoke to rise around the barrier.

Ryan's blood was boiling, he wanted to kill more and more. That hatred, that desire was consuming him. With a demonic smile on his face, he entered the hole that those beetles had come out of. Burning with the flames of his Demon Form, he began to search for the queen of those monsters.

"Is everything all right with Ryan?" said Ruri, who was walking while staring at the city center.
"Stop looking back, it's obvious that everything is fine. Weren't you the one who said he'd eliminated a dragon?" Nivia replied, irritated.
"Yes, it was me, but maybe he's in trouble..." The shaman replied.
Kodiak started laughing, "I think it's the beetles that are in trouble."

Ryan's skin was burning with their black flames, and as he advanced into those wide tunnels, all the beetles boiled and exploded with the heat that was emitted from his body. Ryan was running as fast as he could, annihilating those creatures while laughing frantically.

The creatures had no chance against him. Extinguishing his flames, he had finally reached the room where they kept their crystals and precious goods. There were tons of gold coins surrounding the room, in addition to the coins, there were mirrors and shiny metals. The beetles would bring any shiny material into the room.
