Chapter 9: Finalizing The War Preparations

Chapter 9: Finalizing The War Preparations

Goralef was obviously happy and his tone carried a lot of excitement when he said:

"I will return now and inform Mory about this. We will start mobilizing all the players into here without delay."

Ibro nodded while this delegation was teleported from here back next to the demon gate leading to their universe. Ibro was reminded by another card he didn't think about before, so he said to his system:

'Contact those NPCs and make them be ready for war.'

'What about the players coming here from that universe?' the system asked.

'Move them to a safe world and make them ready to go at war at any time,' Ibro replied. His preparations were going near from perfection, but he wondered if his perfect state would be enough for him to win this challenge.

He didn't doubt his abilities, but he was questioning the fiends' methods, as they weren't that stupid to give him a whole town in a higher world this easily.

Ibro was convinced that his enemies were confident, very confident in their ability to crush him, and that made him eager to make them regret taking such a rash decision.

Ibro then returned to summon his dragons. Although he already summoned huge numbers of them, around him there were a small number of them. his system kept moving what he summoned somewhere else.

One week after Goralef visit, Mory appeared at the demon gate with huge numbers of players. The system informed Ibro about their appearance, but Ibro didn't have any time to waste on speaking with them, so he let his system move them to the previously selected world.

The clock was ticking, and Ibro was racing time to summon his dragons. On his side, all liches were busy summoning different units of skeletons. The size of his armies was expanding massively with each passing day. Ibro kept doing this until the last day of his stay here.

'Let's move back to the zeraxos game,' he ordered his system after he stopped and took a few hours of deserved rest. He missed Maya, as she was able to make him more energized after doing dual cultivation with her. If she was here, he would even take advantage of her cultivators.

'Sigh, I wonder what are you doing now, Maya, Oya, Noda, Sefiera, Amira, and Nicole.'

Ibro thought to himself as he was teleported away from his pocket space world back to the village. Six hours in the real world here weren't enough to change everything, but Ibro noticed some repairs here and there.

His appearance was noticed immediately by Hoden and Mamor, who moved with a group of their most capable generals towards him.

"Welcome back my king, we are trying to repair as much defensive towers as possible," Hoden said, while Mamor and the rest of the generals knelt on the ground with their head stuck heavily to the ground while saying in unison:

"We are blamed for all this, we deserve to be punished."

Ibro just glanced at them as he sighed; he knew they had done more than enough to protect his village. This all was his mistake, and he was alone to be blamed, so he ordered:

"Stand up, this isn't the time for such talks, tell me how many soldiers do we still have?"

The generals didn't move except for Mamor who stood up slowly while saying:

"Replying to my king, we only have less than ten million soldiers."

"This few," Ibro muttered with a sad tone, he had left the village with nearly fifty million veteran soldiers, but now he only had less than one fifth of them. He knew this was a good result considering they were fighting alone, but the loss still pained him.

"It's my fault, your majesty, I should be punished for my lousy leadership," Mamor said at once when he sensed Ibro's dejected mood. Ibro just glanced at him then he looked towards the rest of generals as he ordered:

"The battle is about to begin, return to your posts and start the final preparations. Mamor, you will lead the ground troops."

"Ground troops?!" Mamor exclaimed with surprise, as he didn't think the battle would include another theatre.

"Yes, this time we will have underground, ground, and sky battles. Your responsibility is the village itself, you need to keep holding it no matter what, leave the rest to me."

Mamor was astonished by the calm of Ibro, as there was a great disparity between this king and his previous lord. He felt lucky to serve such a man, and he felt how harsh destiny was.

Such a man started a couple of months ago as a lord and now ended to be a king needed more time to mature and grew stronger, but time wasn't an ally to him.

Mamor sighed as he lamented this merciless life, then he turned to his generals and started ordering them. Ibro didn't care about them anymore as he turned to Hoden and ordered:

"You will be here and try to read the situation, analyze it, and give me some ways to break the trap we will be facing."

Hoden understood Ibro's words perfectly. Although he wasn't a war tactician, he was the best person here who was close to that. He bowed his head while saying:

"I will do my job perfectly, you will be satisfied with your majesty."

Ibro smiled while patting on this old man shoulders while saying:

"Our success or failure rests on your shoulders."

"I'm up to the challenge, my king," Mamor replied with a strong tone.

"Good, go now and start your preparations."

Ibro then watched his two trusted aides moving to finalize the last minute arrangements, and he also didn't slack, as he said to the system:

'Start mobilizing all the armies here.'

'All of them?' the system asked with doubt, as their numbers were really huge.

'Yes, but move the low rank skeletons at the two caves entrances, as the underground battle would mainly rest on them.'

''

The system didn't delay as it began to summon the armies. The first patches to appear were the skeletons, the players, and the NPCs armies.

The players were, as usual, curious about this world, but there was no time to waste. Mory moved towards Ibro once he appeared at the village, accompanied by many of the leaders in his universe.

"We are ready to be deployed, your majesty."

Ibro glanced at the growing numbers of players; this weapon was a card he didn't intend to use early on, so he ordered:

"Move your men and follow these skeletons to the underground world. When time is right, I will send a word to you, so you can join the battle officially. Until then, try to keep a low profile."

"As you wish, my king, let's move out towards that cave entrance. Lead your teams down there, pre" Mory was a decisive man, so once he received the orders from Ibro, he didn't hesitate to relay a long series of orders to the players with him.

In minutes, all the players began to move into the underground world.
